Hi, I would like to join if I may. I have a lot of weight to lose and am hoping to shift 4-5 stone over the course of 2012 so I will set my budget at £250. I do have a bin bag full of clothes that are too small so I'm hoping I will only need to buy underwear and a few pairs of trousers. I'm not very into clothes as the styles are pretty limited at my size but my hubby has promised to buy me a new outfit every time I achieve a weight goal.:)0

Was thinking £250 for the year as shoes aren't cheap! I am really new to joining challenges and haven't got a signature with all my money facts sorted yet!
How are you for hand me downs? My kids get an awful lot handed down because at that age they grow out of their clothes before they get totally wrecked. My son rarely gets any new clothes because he gets so many quality hand me downs.
My daughter only gets uniform from new, and she buys herself the ocassional pretty dress that she likes (using the massive pocket money she gets from granny).Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Hi there! Sign me up! I've just found out that I am pregnant, and just don't want to spend anything on clothes as I know they wouldnt be an investment! I have maternity clothes from my first time around, but think my sizes will be different during the different seasons! I would like to see this as a challenge and maybe just borrow clothes from my 'larger' friends and family!! So my budget will be £250.Debt Free Roll of Honor #598

Hello, do come in & make yourselves comfy
Welcome to catslovelycats, muchowing, flyingmamma, dumpling & Lianne H & dragonlily welcome back to the lovely Shoe Gal :j- no worries on last years spends " it doesn't matter, it's in the past"- & anyway, have you seen what I spent ?)
flyingmamma - sorry I'm not much help with childrens clothes as mine is a lot older than yours, but my general rule for her while she's still growing is 'cheap clothes & quality shoes'. I managed to get some great bargains for her via ebay last year & as she sees me buying stuff from there it really doesn't bother her at all
Her schoolmates may well be buying Superdry, Abercrombie & Hollister etc but one of the mums is always complimenting me on stuff & asking me where I got my dress / top / coat etc from & now just looks at me with a knowing smile & says " I just know you're going to say ebay again " :rotfl:.

Please can I join this year? £250 because I need to buy a few new clothes for work and some shoes. I also have clothes in a range of sizes and I'm at the top end at the moment. If I succeed with losing some weight I can "free" some of the clothes in my wardrobe.
I think this challenge is going to have a positive effect on my weight!!Debt Free Date [STRIKE]December[/STRIKE] June 2019

:wave:Hello everyone!
I would love to join in please. Anything to help me cut my spending, pay off my debts and start saving
I've never really taken account of how much I spend on clothes. I had a massive clear out in September and bought some new work clothes for my new job. This Christmas, I bought 3 going out tops so, in theory, I shouldn't need many new clothes til at least summer.
Also hoping to lose a lot of weight (did someone mention a weight loss challenge?) this year so may need to buy some then. I've been this weight/dress size for at least 10yrs so don't have any clothes to slim into:o
Ok, enough of my waffle, I'm going to set myself a target of £500 which I know sounds a lot but I reckon I've spent at least this much on clothes from my catalogue in 2011, nevermind what I spent in Mr As, Debs etc..
Right off to find that weight loss challenge. Good luck all xxx0 -

can i join please
i plan to spend £200 this year that doesn't inclde any uniform allowance i get for the kids or any gifted money.
i need 2 sets of uniform for the kids altho i've already bought them 2 school coats for £9.95 for bothi'm hoping to resue some of this years uniform and i'm not buying socks or pants as we're coming down with them, general clothes wise they don't need much just a wee outfits i didn't really swap over to uniforms very well and was still buying enough clothes for 10 days a week so all i've bought them in the next size is an ebay bundle
our youngest has all the twins old clothes so well set but i feel bad because he gets nothing new so i buy him the odd peppa pig outfit from next or m&s this has to shop because he has far too much
i don't really buy hubby clothes just shoes, he needs a new coat but refuses to go shopping to buy one, his mum buys him clothes for xmas, and all his clothes are covered in ink (he's a printer) so i've kinda given up on the nice clothes ikea for him
for myself i usually buy from ebay or glitches (i got loads of leggings and tops in the tesco flash sale at £1 so lots of summerwear/jammies) i've also discovered a fab website that sells everything for £5 including coats and boots, i have bought a coat some boots and jeans from it but i'm resisting anymore, i shouldn't need may clothes this year except one smart outfit and maybe a new winter coat (or i could lose weight and use my old one)
so after all that waffle i'm at £9.95/£200DEC GC £463.67/£450
EF- £110/COLOR]/£10000
