One way I've persuaded myself to chuck things is to go through them at the start of a season, put the stuff I don't love and wear in bags, and write the date on the bag. When you get round to swopping stuff back a few months later, see if you can remember what's in the bag and if not it should probably just go!

You have got some great bargains :money:0 -
Today I have bought from our charity shop rail sale a fab leather jacket for the princely sum of £1.00-as I found the pound in my hand bag as a bit of luck do I count this as bought out of my clothing allowance or as a special one off (I have checked through all my bags now and there are no more £1.00 coins sadly!)lucky buy? Hmmmmm ponder ,what do think? I have counted it as a NSD as I didn't open my purse!
Hi SuziQ1962,
Well done on the leather jacket purchase, sounds like a real bargain :T. Whether you count the 1.00 as coming out of your clothing allowance or as a lucky special one off all depends on the reason for doing this challenge. If you're doing the Crazy Clothes Challenge just because you want to reign in your spending then you could count it as a lucky special one off, if you're doing this challenge because you have debts then I think it should come out of your clothing allowance and the 1.00 paid towards your debt.:)
darwins_mum, well done with the charity shop La Redoute coat, it sounds lovely.
I love charity shop buys.0 -
hello all...Can I join in again please ???
I lost my way near the end of last year as I was that busy I didn't get time to come on mse ..Will try harder in future
My goals for this year will be £200.00 for me - this includes footwear , jewelery , underwear , coats- Pretty much everything really .
I have plenty of stuff to get rid of so I just need to flog it really ..in the hope Ill have plenty of money saved for the sales of each season
My major downside of my spending is my daughter and I HAVE to tighten this budget { she bearly wears any of it either} so I will set her's in my signature for £200.00 also , as most of that is shoes and school uniforms so I will find this really challenging...Especially when walking past Next
I will add this years spending later once I double check what i have already bought .Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

Morning all, great to see challenges are being addressed. I am simply going to echo the sentiments of a few others, if I stay away from shops I am out of the way of temptation, ebay included. I am up to £10 of my annual budget of £100, and we are only on day 12 eek. Time to slam on the brakes. On the plus side, on Tuesday I managed to sell a brand new cardi for 3 times what I paid for it (I bought it and it didnt fit, another impulse buy).
Have a great day y'all

Semi freedom day for me today. Bought a t-shirt before xmas (while xmas shopping - whoops!) which I hadn't worn yet so got that on today, along with a 3/4 sleeve top underneath whcih I bought about 6yrs ago from Mango - worn it a fair bit (judging by the fading) but not worn it for a while. Teamed with frequently worn skinny jeans and my comfy Uggs.
No news on coat yet, didn't have the energy to try them on last night but promise I will do so this weekend.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello all!Thought I'd better pop by and check up on you all ;-) MSE pages are all skew-whiffy at the mo on my work's computer so struggling to do anything other than read and post quick replies, can't even thank people's posts, grrr!Still not bought any clothes, still throwing any catalogues that pop through the door straight into the recycle pile (minus the parts that need shredding, of course)Hope you're all doing well and not being tempted too much by those pesky sales, unless of course you need something xxx0

Hi Kerfuffle-I am doing the challenge to reign in my spending as we consolidated all our debt last year and put it on the mortgage-this year I want to start overpaying the mortgage so we can get it all paid off before we are 95! I have a budget set for the year for clothing, haircuts, presents etc and am aiming to pay my car insurance ,road tax and house insurance in full rather than monthly as I want to reduce the monthly amount of direct debits that come out of our account and not give the insurance companies any more money than I need to!
Having said all that so virtuously, I went back to the charity shop to get some trousers and a top that I spotted the day before but have taken that from my allowance!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No 1099 2011/£26.00:j
