Hello Lula-Hula and everyone - could i join please :D

i already started a challenge for myself last month and am happy for it to just run until the end of this year :)

    My target is £200

    And i'm currently at £40/£200 :eek: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Purchases have been:~

Gorgeous new coat £15 (reduced from £85 to £45) - i had a voucher for the rest but had to put £15 towards it
Stunning top for my summer hols :) £10 - reduced from £75 :T
Pair of gloves £2 - reduced from £18
New Dress £7 reduced from £30 to £17 and i had xmas money of £10
New top £2 reduced from £4 but is fab ;)
An all round scarf thingy ? what are they called ? £4 - reduced from £24 :)

I don't know if this is outside the rules? :undecided but - i'm not counting any vouchers or money from birthday /xmas - as i have to show what i bought with this so can't just throw at the debt :o

I'm also not counting any purchases whilst on holiday - reason being i take a set amount of holiday money away with me to spend on whatever i want but it has to cover all food, drink, travel, souvenirs, entrance fees etc. so if i buy clothes out of this then i may go for less drinks, have more basic meals etc. - I *do* sell on eb*y, when i've got something i can sell but i'm not going to increase my budget with this either.

Also i only have 1 item of clothes storage my wardrobe - and its very full  does anyone have any suggestions to encourage me to part with some stuff? i've been through my wardrobe loads and have all my summer wear, winter wear, coats and jackets stored in there too (there is really no-where else these can go) And i agree with some of the earlier posts - they are so full i can't be bothered making the effort to try and get in there and maybe wear something different as it just seems really hard work :o

Oh and i'm not counting accessories which are jewellery or hair clips - never really get these anyways

did a wardrobe "shop" for work today and got two compliments:j
one girl said i love those aqua shades on you and another said how well the colours I had matched then said i always wear nice things:j:j:j
I have on a pair of East lilac jeans,a ls M&S turquoise top and a Kew purple cardi .I did not think of using those colours together but spotted a scarf(East silk) in my draw in turquoise/purple and thought if it worked on the scarf! The scarf pulled the other things together and I finished off with turquoise/multi shell earings:)
none of the itesm were expensive as bought in sales:)(e.g jeans were only £10 as last pair in East:):):))

Someone else mentioned workwear above - and I wondered if anyone has any ideas of what to wear for interviews? suits/smart casual?

    any budget ideas for that?

    best wishes, moggy ;)

I have a suit that I wear (well wore as I haven't been for one for a while) for interviews, usually with a smart shirt underneath and high heeled shoes / boots (I am of course assuming you to be of the female ilk...if you were male perhaps avoid the heels :rotfl:) As mentioned always better to be 'too smart' than underdressed -unless you're auditioning for a rock band? ;) It gives an air of professionalism and shows you have put thought and effort into the interview.

I know what you mean, I have all my clothes out all year (mainly cos i can't be a*sed to separate them). I'm not a massive fan of them myself but what about some vacuum bags to store some items in like bulky winter jumpers in the summer?

Was amazed to find some extra space in my wardrobe today....then I realised it's because I have 4 pairs of jeans in the wash :o

Still no spend for me but I do have two Fatface coats to try on still and try and make a decision between the two (or keep both and take a hit on my budget for the year)

Hi kerri gt and thanks for the suggestion - but there is no where for the vacuum bags to go either - house is really quite small :o and i'd love to move somewhere bigger :o but i need to pay off the debts first :naughty: so i am quite motivated to get rid of some more clothes now (everything else in the house that can be sold has been eb*yed or carbooted already). Since yesterday i've selected 2 pairs of boots and 2 pairs of shoes to sell :o - i have had them a few years ago but they are still fab but its time for them to go :o Waiting for free listing now ;)

Eeek, I totally understand how storage can be an issue, I live in a reasonbaly sized house but still mutter 'there's no storage' - there's only one built in cupboard / wardrobe. My only other suggestion, if you haven't got one already (and depending on the bed you already have) is look out for a divan base with storage draws on Freecycle - I was lucky in our last flat that one came up (same make as the bed and the same colour) I've seen a few come up since then, and even if it's a complete divan sometimes people are willing to split the matress and base between people.

Cheers hon - but we already have underbed storage - thats where my bags are and my hair clips and accessories (and [STRIKE]anything else i can cram in there[/STRIKE] a few other creative bits ). i need to be a bit stricter with what i keep maybe ? i might lift a few things out and have them round a few days and really consider if i will wear them at any time and if not off to the eb*y pile they go. - Will see how i go on with this :T

Let us know how you get on with the coats too kerri :)
