One job a day for decluttering the house. Print of and then stick up somewhere or add to your diary then cross out when done.
Doesnt really matter if you dont do things on the correct day just getting things done and crossed of will do me. Easy to see then which bits you have missed (or ignored as they didnt look fun)
My decluttering tonight has been a Thorntons chocolate Father Christmas :rotfl:Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

princess skint-a-lot: I don't know how old your girls are, but I had a friend who had 3 girls and one day I walked past her house to find her hurling clothes, toys, make-up etc out of the girls bedroom window. Apparently she had threatened that anything of theirs not put in the proper place would be thrown into the garden. It was pouring with rain. When the girls got home they were livid. Everything was lying in sodden heaps on the lawn. They raged and screamed and my friend was quite calm and said that every day the same thing would happen. After that she said that she seldom had to throw anything outside.
I could never do that as I had boys who couldn't have cared less what happened to their clothes!
 Just a thought.
Happy New Year.I believe that friends are quiet angels

My husband told me to do this when I told him I was losing my job. I am 'officially' unemployed from todayI have written about this on another thread but not sure where now
I am at home full time but treat it like a job. Schedule things to
Do like you would at work. Allocate times for routines and if not completed
Then split what's left to new times or as you would at work prioritize
And then deal with list. Schedule appointment slots for you and fun things as well it's all about balance and it helps to stop long lists making you give up due to being overwhelmed.
I think we all think we have to do far more than we actually need
To do. SO look at what is the mInimum I have to do today to get
Through. What one thing would be great to get of the list and what one thing can I do today for me ;-). Believe me allowing yourself some slack will then ensure you can breath and then decide if you want to do more rather than a great long list that you are going to beat yourself up about.
Outside my 'working hours' it's just basics no cleaning washing ironing diary tasks etc 9-1 I do these things then stop for 1 hour. 2-3 I do something from the list of to do sometime jobs and then it's my hour until 4 then I sort dinner plan diary tasks menus or anything paperwork needing attention
After dinner again it's only basics like clear from dinner
If I want to do more then that's cool but no one is paying me ;-)
Weekends I try and not 'work' obviously there are basics that need doing everyday but once you have that list as quick to get through as possible then it's up to you to decide if you want to do extras. . However I've decided my new working hours . However I've decided my new working hours and I'm going to work 4 days 9-1. That leaves me with a full day off each week for me plus a couple of hours every afternoon. My new hours are flexi-time so if I go to a coffee morning at DDs school, I have to make the time up elsewhere. Outside of working hours I am only prepared to cook and wash up. Unsure if I'm going to include grocery shopping in my work hours or not, will see how I get on. I got a family organiser calendar for christmas so am going to sit and fill that in for an hour or so now. and I'm going to work 4 days 9-1. Good luck in the new job spendless ;-). It's a mindset and it can work. I find
I slip and end up doing all or nothing but a bit of stern talking to and a review
With myself lol soon sorts things. Thinking along the flexi time is a good one.
Short sharp blasts of work is also great in not allowing the tasks to fill the time.
If you have to find another job then planning in time for researching this is also vital.
Happy new year all xLiving the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

I was a busy girl yesterday. Did all my jobs in the kitchen and also managed to do a load of shredding that's been hanging around for months.
Christmas tree and cards are coming down today!
I took a joint of pork out of the freezer Friday evening, defrosted it slowly on the fridge as normal. Just gone to stick it in the oven and it stinks to high heaven! To say I'm mad would be an understatement. :mad:0

I have been watching these threads for some time now but tend to find the people who post seem to be with people who have time to spare, I work full time as well as have a part time job at the weekend so getting things done is tiresome but this year I have decided 2012 will be my year and I am going to stop procrastinating. I am going to sort out by debts, declutter my house, lose the weight, keep on top of my house work and the ironing. I hope some of you can inspire me and get me on the right track.
 Sorting out my Debts
I have already starting an online diary so hopefully this will keep me on track. Biggest thing I have to do is stay away from the grabbit board as I do love a bargain.
 Declutter my house and Life
To anyone coming in my house I look a very organised person but if they had to open any cupboards, go into my garage or even have a look up my loft they would know the truth, I am actually surprised my ceilings haven't caved in yet with the amount of things I have up there!! So this year I have decided to clear out, I had my family nine years ago and I still have all the baby things!!!
I started today by clearing out the 4000 emails clogging up my computer, one small step but I feel so much better.
Keep on top of the Housework
I do try to follow the weekly flylady thread but sometimes don't have the time. The one advantage I do have is a helpful husband. I have a big house which takes a lot of time to clean and can't afford a cleaner so I am going to try and break it into small areas in order to keep on top of it.
 Laundry
Over the last few years I have got stuck in rut with my laundry, I tend to leave it and do it all on a Friday night then can't be bothered ironing it, which means the iron is up every morning and the pile never goes down. This year I am going to try and do a load every day and iron it every night - that is the plan, let's see if I can stick to it.
 Losing Weight
I lost over 3 stone a few years and have managed to keep the majority off but a stone has crept back on, diet starts tomorrow so will need to look at meal planning, lunch ideas for work and being organised with my dinners so I don't creep off it.
This is my plan, I would be grateful if any of you out there has any hints or tips to help me along the way.

There's a similar thread started recently - click here I'll merge this later to keep ideas together. I'll merge this later to keep ideas together.
I'd suggest that you don;t try and do everything all at once - start one thing each month, for instance.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
