Kids go back to school Tuesday and I. Can't. Wait! I love having them home but I think they are going a bit stir crazy. It's been piddling down all day and we haven't been out. They need to have some structure and routine back in their lives.0

Gailey when mine were younger i was shocking for buying too many clothes.......:o
A friend of mine is de-cluttering (for very different reasons to all of us
) and she came up with this:
Empty the wardrobe. Turn the wire heads on the coathangers round & *underhook* them back into the wardrobe like they do in shops. When you wear stuff....and it's returned to the wardrobe, put it back in *forwards-hooking*. In 6 months you can easily see exactly what you HAVN'T worn & know what to list on Fleabay
:D
Am going to do that with all of ours (especially DDs) when they all go back to school.
Been shopping today (not doing grocery challenge but @ the bill...maybe i should) cleaned the fridge & been and bought a slow-cooker. Just need to work out how it works & what to cook now:rotfl: Theory being is it will save loads of time when OH is actually here & we will stop buying takeaways as both too tired to cook....
Part from that? Sat on fat bum
(my farm needed tending
)
I forgot: Sammy can you not get one of those whirlygig lines & a spike until they get round to it? xxAutism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.

Patty I love buying the girls cute outfits
but my stroppy 5year old going on 15 refuses to wear them
she has some tacky tastes so I frequently say no
like little girls to look traditional and like proper little girls/boys no nasty slogans or clothes that look too old.

Well today was very productive, I feel like I can see the end of the clutter and slowly but surely I am finding a place for everything.
Tomorrow:
Put handbags and shoes in new-found home
Fill the space they've left with recycling, wellies
add any last bits to the four binbags going to chairty ()
Organise hall (this is my new crafting space and looks like a bomb hit it at the moment.
Hopefully I will be finished with the organise/declutter phase tomorrow and can do a good clean through on Monday before full time work occupies us once again. I hope this means I will find it easier to keep on top of daily housework.
love to all, keep going

Gailey i have far too many kids clothes as well, can't fit anymore into one of the wardrobes! I find people (v kindly) give them clothes as gifts but never give the right sizes! I gave my mum and father in law their correct sizes, ds1 is 9and half but in 7-8 just, ds2 is 7 nxt wk but just gone into 5-6 and my nearly 4 yr old is in 2-3 but though i asked for pjs and maybe a pair of jeans (only things we are short on) in those sizes they all got something but in 2 sizes too big so they will be going in the loft.
I have tubs and suitcases and bags full of clothes for them, i do keep their stuff to pass onto the younger ones but i get given stuff too and usually try to ebay some of it twice a yr - can't move in the roof so going to keep popping up there and sorting it out, little and often is the best way. If i do it when the kiddies are home as soon as i get up there one of them calls me for something so must wait til they are out!
Not sure what i will get done today, not even out of bed yet!!!! Must clean fluffy the hamster out, he's under the stairs in the hall and has an overflowing wicker basket of paperwork and stuff threatening to spill out onto his cage so that might be a good plan! Also we have loads of hooks in the porch but visitors can't use them as they have stacks of our coats, cardis etc on them so need to move most of it (no where to put it all tho as wardrobes too full lol).
Hope you all have a great day xgrocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000 -
Count me in.
Apart from the kids and school ( make that one daughter living at home studying law at uni instead) that is my life to a tee. Made redundent in the summer, OH job ends today (NYE), my mum has very advanced cancer and MIL in hospital having broken her hip 3 days before Christmas and is recovering from partial hip replacement surgery. House is a total mess, so are the gardens and allotments, need to address stuff at mums (only child, single parent family so no one else to do it) and I need to lose weight/get fitter. Add to that the need to move house because of problems neighbours, after 15+ years of surviving the 5 different neighbours all who have been genuinely problem neighbours we have had enough, so need to get the house to selling condition!
We are looking at plan of work, where we literally look at it like all like a 'job', scheduling each action that needs to take place - anyone done this?Put the kettle on.

Morning all
Ive done all on my list so far, washing they was in washer now in dryer and stuff that was in dryer been folded and put away.
I'm dressed but will jump in shower n wash my hair when oh home n LO having nap n will get dressed to go out after. Just got house clothes on atm.
Have updated food shop n added even more fruit for LO he has it with his breakfast n for snacks. He loves his fruit well n food but will keep buying different fruits to him as of course something I want to encourage with him even if it does add up can't put price on kids eating fruit rather then junk lol
Is anyone else over struck with their Los diet, I'm a nightmare at checking sugar in things he eats (the bad sugars that is I know fruit has it but it's natural) he's 16m and only had 1 taste of choc and was a lovely homemade choc brownie on hol as a treat n he picked every bit out his mouth. Had never seen him have such a reaction to a food item. I wanted to cry I could of had that bite it was so yummy lol. I just feel mean when I know all his friends get treats and he very rarely does.
Looking forward to our trip to tesco later. I love a wonder round and as food shop comes on mon I know I can stay away from the food n not spend there. Can't wait to try Los new jumper on him. Another one here who's kid has way too many clothes but mainly off eBay or supermarket I don't spend much on them.
Have a good day allMummy to Lewis Born Aug 100 -
I have written about this on another thread but not sure where now
I am at home full time but treat it like a job. Schedule things to
Do like you would at work. Allocate times for routines and if not completed
Then split what's left to new times or as you would at work prioritize
And then deal with list. Schedule appointment slots for you and fun things as well it's all about balance and it helps to stop long lists making you give up due to being overwhelmed.
I think we all think we have to do far more than we actually need
To do. SO look at what is the mInimum I have to do today to get
Through. What one thing would be great to get of the list and what one thing can I do today for me ;-). Believe me allowing yourself some slack will then ensure you can breath and then decide if you want to do more rather than a great long list that you are going to beat yourself up about.
Outside my 'working hours' it's just basics no cleaning washing ironing diary tasks etc 9-1 I do these things then stop for 1 hour. 2-3 I do something from the list of to do sometime jobs and then it's my hour until 4 then I sort dinner plan diary tasks menus or anything paperwork needing attention
After dinner again it's only basics like clear from dinner
If I want to do more then that's cool but no one is paying me ;-)
Weekends I try and not 'work' obviously there are basics that need doing everyday but once you have that list as quick to get through as possible then it's up to you to decide if you want to do extras.Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j
