I am a bit long-sighted and cannot see what is in front of me, even though varifocals and specific glasses for computer. Today I finally noticed that huge puffs of soot have been wafting down both chimneys in this terrible wind and have scattered themselves around the downstairs room. And I have trodden them around the house before noticing them.
I've hoovered up what I can see in the gloaming but still have the horrible task of spot cleaning the sooty smudges around. Happy New Year!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

My tasks today other than basics are wash all hard floors, menu plan and clear the ironing basket.
Went to Aldi earlier and then to the little Tesco and spent 38.91 and thats me done for another week as I have a lot of store cupboard stuff that will see me through.
I have a major task I want to start and thats to scan in all my late Mums photos so I can then declutter the box once they are all on CD which I can then copy for the rest of the family.Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

Not getting on too well today I'm afraid. Struggled with getting motivated this morning I *think* because I didn't have a set task to do, but looking at the positives that's something I hadn't realised about myself till today that I need a structure. Tidied hallway and started DDs bookshelf which is on landing and only realised I've left it half done when I came to post this. Damn!!
More issues with Nan (hence 1/2 left bookshelf -got phone call from Mum part way thru) and she's asked me to accompany her to Drs at 3pm. I am in 2 minds whether she has a genuine appt or it's one she's 'imagined'.
Went grocery shopping alone and called ask friend to pick DD up from school.
Might need to do a few tasks this evening as I intended taking tomorrow 'off'.
gailey- How old is DD? With both mine (12 & 9 this year) I found that whole class parties only tended to happen at nursery/reception stage. So don't worry if you can only afford a few.0 -
SAVINGJANE, I think a weekend away can do you the world of good.
Have started decluttering over the last few days. Things are looking better but still a long way to go.
Working up to starting the diet. Still got lots of chocs etc left from Christmas.
Have been quite inspired lurking on this thread but it has gone quiet now so thought I would add my twopennorth. Esther xSecond purse £101/100
