Late checking in - more of that later but again by 1pm I had finished for the day...woooooo hooooooo :j

DDs room 95% done. :T Still needs bedroom carpet cleaning (have hoovered) but want cleaner back from SILs so will prob be weekend..and I'll get Mr S to do it.:shhh: Windows need doing too but are also being left since I have nothing in to do them with, not even vinegar. :p That's not cos I am really fond of OS cleaning but cos I have a science mad 11yo and vinegar, bicarb and salt all dissappear for chemistry experiments.

Made HM leek & potato soup but stupidly turned the gas to low rather than off when the phone rang and came back to browned burnt leeks. :oWas salavagable-ish but I wouldn't have served it anyone else. Couldn't do more as only had 1 leek and gas man was on his way to fix the fire (hence phone call and my late post).

Tomorrow I think I'm going to have a bits and bobs day rather than tackle another room, where I just tidy anything I see that is getting on my wick.:D Might need to do a tip run. Was very envious of SavingJane's post where she said she put her bin out . Our last collection was before Xmas eve and our next one is Saturday.

gailey- would it help if you were to do somewhere the kids can't get to first? A high shelf for example that they can't reach or a kitchen cupboard then you could go back and look at something still done to motivate you.

Nan was having a good day yesterday, so good she wanted to go shopping, stop for coffee, collect her pension and search for a new calendar, which was fine but I hadn't allocated enough time for all this and fitting in picking DD up. :rotfl:Need to remember that in future. :D

I've recently lost my job as employer lost its contract. 1 of my now ex workmates bought me a couple of books for Christmas cos I told her I liked psychological thrillers so am going to snuggle down with that this afternoon.

Well I managed all but flowers sorting and hoovering but I can do that when I get back up.

Date wise I had stuff from 2007 :eek: in grocery cupboard.

I have followed my app on IPhone for the daily cleaning and the extra jobs and have gathered together a few :D papers thats need dealing with, appointments making contents sorting etc etc and will do that during the afternoon.

Yesterday I wrote up 2012 diary and listed all cards and gifts needed for Jan ready for when I go out.

Updated my xmas card list and also added to my xmas shopping list I use as a basis for food gifts and odds and ends each year.

Really feels like sorting out is moving forward this year and not sure why really but its a nice feeling all the same.

Just thought maybe as its the first year I havnt been going back to work I can just get the house back after the family being around so much over the holidays and look forward to being able to take a bit more time out for me.

Definiately more planning and actually getting on with something is good I was a great procrasinator when I worked I would make great plans........

Of I go again I am determined to complete what I set myself today and I really need to think about excersise as I am 56 and beginning to feel it!!!!!

Ours are a day later if a BH falls and my usual collection is Friday.

I missed dusting DDs light, but since it is still Dora the Explorer and she's 9 in March I will treat her to a new one instead.:p

  • didnt manage eveything on my list today as only did half the rooms cleaning of the skirting board and radiators.

did pull out the tumble drier etc and was mortified at how much dust and cat hair was there!

In school reading tomorrow so may only have time to clean bathroom and hoover downstairs - think I tried to achieve too much today. smaller lists is the way to go I think. didnt iron either but that can wait...

Got up really late today but I am on holiday but I did manage to get all the christmas decs away up the loft - I really should call this the black hole but I will get it sorted this year, at least I organised all the decorations before going up.

I also managed to hoover and dust all my downstairs as well as my top landing, I will tackle the bedrooms tomorrow.

Didn't do much clearing out today but did get rid of all the boxes for toys and christmas presents and recycled all my gift bags ready for using next year.

I am going to type up my christmas card list for next year (while I have the names of my neighbours on their cards) and iron what is left to iron while watching the tv.

Also ate out the cupboards today and had a NSD today so quite pleased with myself.

I have also decided to do a car boot middle of February, this should give me time to go through some cupboards (not even thinking about the garage just now that can wait till the summer) and should give me a goal to work towards.
    :j
That's all for now - I will make a list of what I am going to do over the next few weeks in order to try and keep me motivated.
