Lordy Gailey! I got tired just reading that!
I have done nothing this morning apart from hang a load of washing out. Oh, and fed the kids!
They are driving me potty. I am trying to summon up the energy to take them up the park but none of them are dressed yet!
There is Lego all over the floor and they are now playing Starwars which as far as I can tell involves them running up and down shouting at each other.
Had a grocery delivery which I have put away - still looks very empty in the fridge! How does that happen? I ordered loads but there's nothing to eat!0 -
Hello, this year is the year that we will save, get a hold on finances and de clutter etc...
After doing the budget over the christmas break, I was amazed to find that we are meant to have money left over each month - even though we havent. so ive set up the envelope sysytem - im boring hubby to death over it but I dont care its going to happen.
We have an xmas fund, emergency fund, school holiday fund. We have £800 in the savings account for our honeymoon to DLP in march - whatever is left will go towards a few days away in the summer hols.
I do a large online shop once a month and thentop up weekly for fresh stuff. So today we headed to asda, took the cash out of the envelope and we were both shocked when it came to £23 - there was nothing there. I think we realised how little we got as we paid cash rather than handing over the debit card.
ive fished out some stuff to put on ebay - havent sold on there for months. Once the boys are back in school tomorrow the house can have a thorogh clean on top of whats done daily.
Im treasurer of the PTA now so will be at school more often then when i just do one on one reading so need to manage my time betterMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
How do you all motivate yourselves? I've been sat at the computer since I got up, more or less!

I need a swift kick up the bum!0 -
Xmas tree and cards down. Living room, Dining Room & conservatory all back to normal. Oven being cleaned and I haven't done any of it.:p Mr S has.:D Think it is to make amends for being so hungover yesterday, nothing was done.

Meanwhile I've joined SW :T and cleaned the rabbit hutch out. Not a pleasant task as kids did it last time and forgot to put a layer of newspaper down first. Poor Bugs Bunny, she was noseying in her hutch each time I turned my back, must have been looking to see if it was ready.:D
DS doing homework and later am taking kids to cinema whilst Mr S stays home and cooks a late New Year Dinner complete with crackers to'make up' for Xmas day when we didn't even get to sit together to eat.
Told DH my 'rough' plan of organising is
DDs room (was straightened up last night cos you couldn't get thru the door. but still needs doing properly)
DSs room
Our bedroom
bathroom
conservatory
kitchen
downstairs loo
dining room
hallway.
This is just so I work backwards to the stairs each time so don't have to mess up a room already done.
DH said 'what do you have planned for wednesday?' :rotfl:0 -
hi all
quck coffee break. Ive been working my !!! off all day and achieved exactly nothing apart from more mess and ten tonnes more washing!! Does this happen to anyone else??????
love princess is in a mess a lot xxx0 -

Going to do envelope/pot system too
birthdays
xmas
sales
holiday
car
rainy day.
Also think might allocate myself 10-15pounds treat money a month to spend on me.
Lindyloo-you sound as busy as ever with pta/school.
Need to egt date for our next pta meeting least no events on jan/feb `, november/december was manic!
I hate it in supermarket when feel like bad value for money reason we dont tend to do Asda much seems like we dont get much for money.
Lindloo is this delayed honeymoon or you getting married?
See I was organised for wedding proper bridezilla me had lever arch file.
We went paris for ours for 3days was wedding pressie.
Hoping can maybe go somewhere this year as dident have holiday last year but will see so much to do.
Well seems I was bit optimistic.
Toddler woke up baby so then hoovrfed lounge so baby could safely crawl around.
Toddler weed on sofa and my bed so sorted that out.
spent 2hours in girls room and all I sorted out is
1toy box
craft draws
bookcase-Blimey how many books do kids need?
dolls house-trying to sell to downsize
toy kitchen- toddlers drawn on it in pink marker, its lovley painted wood any idea how can remove marker? cant sand as would take paint off would white spirits work? hubby needs to do some fixing too on hinges.
moved onto window sill.
next need to sort draws and wardrobe
hoover
change badding
move come clutter from girls room to cupboard of doom under stairs.
determined to get all bedrooms straight by tea time.
mine needs good sort out under bed but that can wait.
Think I have the naughtiest toddler ever.
all we had is tantrums her making mess
her rowing with her sister, stealing toys and food off her siblings
wee wee accidents.
took break for lunch at 1 and still trying to get back into it.
was I see it get upstairs done ie bedrooms and bathroom
put kids bed early
then do downstairs and batch cooking whilst they alseep.
admin tasks can wait until later tonight.
Yellowbear I am struggling to get motivated.
reasons is as soon as tidy one thing they messed up another.
Im kind of person left to own devices can throw myself into a task and do it well if given the time.
But whilst doing stuff have to referee the kids
change the kids and feed them
tidy up any urgent stuff like wee wee and washing powder.
Am rather hoping boys be less messy than girls
fail to see how he can be any worse.
Spendless you made me chuckle
how come you dident spend xmas day together.
work way backwards
doing a room properly- I know what you mean but im of thinking even if can do fraction of what needs doing it helps.
I couldent realistically deep clean my house in one day.
figured I need to declutter and get rooms habitable before deep cleaning.
So thats kind of plan getting house manaable so over next few weeks can deep clean as will spend 1 day per room and we have 8rooms in total including landing/hallway.
well done on diet I have sw weighin tommorow and dreading it my bathroom scales being unkind this morning.
Cant wait until eldest back at school tommorow shes so bored.
oh dear gave baby a choc coin and hes covered in choc but hes less grouchy than earlier as hes teething..
im going to add 2things to my list
have nice soak in bath
watch some tv thats not kids
as new year is about getting things sorted buy rewards too making some me time being good to myself.
The expresion -pay yourself fisrt springs to mind.
does not just mean monetry
can mean make time for yourself
reap what you sewed and results of effort/hard work.
hubbys not home until 9pmish maybe later
feeling drained all ready but keep telling myself keep going, will be worth it, wil feel so much better.
remembering reasons
to be less stressed and more organised.

hi everyone got the tree down and the house is back to normal. i don't like taking the tree down cause i think it's depressing but it makes everything seem really new, and also there is plenty of room to twirl. Well instead of twirling i should be doing an excercise dvd! Healthy eating day 2 doing well and just waiting for yummy roast chicken and salad dinner that will be ready in about mmmmmmmmm 45 mins. Already got kids bathed and ready for tomo first day back to school:(. I'm sure i'll get over it by about oooo 10 past nine tomo:rotfl:need to buy new batteries for scales tomo so i can weigh myself gulp! hoovered and mopped today (pleased with self:cool:)
tidied up kids room and put some washing away:T and also went to cinema to see alvin and the chipmunks chipwrecked was so funny kids liked it too!:rotfl:0 -
I've not done much today; I'm planning to really go for it once kids are out of the house tomorrow.
I have taken the tree down though, so we are all feeling fed up.
I also need to start my healthy eating plan, but I have to run down the freezer so I can defrost it, and I've just found out the 2.5 boxes of mince pies left over from Christmas are BBE today . Me and DH are stuffing our chops with them. I'm also forcing him to take them to work all week for sncaks. We are NOT throwing them away and I've banned him from the Christmas cake until they are gone :rotfl:.
The house is FTB with plastic tat. I can't complain too much as I bought most of it
. DH keeps giving me mucky looks because there's LOADS. I have to come up with some decent storage solutions fast. 0 -
We did spend Xmas day together but about a fortnight earlier my Nan who has come to us for Xmas day dinner for past decade started acting 'bizarre'. We got told she is suffering from dementiaSpendless you made me chuckle

. Xmas day she went from being fine to 'not with it' to fine and then just as lunch was being served she decided to go home cos she claimed we were playing music in order to hypnotise her (there was nothing playing). Kids were upset and in order to keep some semblance of order I ate with them whilst hubby tried to placate granny and then ate his meal seperately. Todays meal was suppossed to be a make up one, but has culminated in a row about dessert
. The whole family is stressed as hell.
Re books (cos I'll start in floods if I go into what is happening) I bought DD 1 book that had all the fairy stories in it and got rid of all the seperate ones. Intend doing same soon with Roald Dahl.
I couldn't clean my house in 1 go either (DH was joking;)). I intend to start on 1st room work for 1/2 day on it -my 4 hours include washing dishes, laundry and making beds and when it gets to 1pm I will be stopping. If it still needs doing I'll continue on day 2 and so on, but do what suits you. I have school age kids, 1 of them secondary school age so am not in same circs as someone with pre-schoolers.0
