Ohh, can I join in too?? My rants are about my divorced inlaws.
Rant 1. FIL - FIL decided to stop buying CHristmas pressy for my DH when we got married 6 years ago (aged 25). Instead we are to 'go Dutch' on a meal out with them. Never mind his sis is now also well over 25, she still gets spoiled rotton! Hubby says he doesn't bother but it is sad to see his bro and sis opening loads if pressies and he doesnt even get pair of socks! Even their dog ( not FIL's) gets a new bone from them whilst my DH gets nada. To top it off , HE Picks the restaurant we go to each year, our suggestions are always dismissed! Usually expensive ones that require me to drive to get too! Grrr!
RANT 2. MIL - she was supposed to be at DH's gran's house at 2 pm on Christmas Day to help with dinner. We had arranged our day to spend time with FIL in the morn, afternoon with MIL etc then finally back to my Mum's for 5pm for dinner ( and BTW I am 18 weeks pregnant). So we got to DH gran's house at 2.15. No MIL, she was far too hungover from sitting up drinking all night on Christmas eve. she finally showed up at 4.20pm and we had to leave 10 mins later!!! Since we told her about the pregnancy 6 wks ago ( to which there were tears of supposed joy), she hasn't once picked up the phone to ask how the pregnancy is going , didn't call to find out how my scan went or anything. DH took her a scan photo down 'in case she felt left out'!!!
Next year they can all b****r off I tell you!0 -
Gah, I've had the most rubbish Christmas ever!
OH was working Christmas Day, so we were going to have Christmas on Boxing Day (spent Christmas Day at parents house instead). Went out on the 23rd, bought everything from the prawns to the turkey to the sprouts to the dessert to have then. Boxing day comes and the strange smell that had been coming from the fridge had intensified over a couple of days. Turns out the turkey had gone bad, and I mean really bad, not "just gone off the day before" off, so our wonderful Boxing Day dinner was fish and chips.
One of DS toys (the most expensive one, and the one he would sit for ages on) started slowly deflating and so I've got to take it back.
MIL ended up in hospital.
She then babysat yesterday and let DS sleep all afternoon, when he's been having a decent sleep late in the afternoon and catnapping the rest of the day, meaning he was up til about 3 this morning."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I'm not even going to go into my 3 days of hell but me and my DD (currently 11 weeks old) are going to Spain next Christmas without ANYONE.
Can't quite work out whether I'm just tired, over-sensitive or got PND but had a major meltdown yesterday in the middle of my Mom's birthday dinner so now she's not talking to me & OH has taken my DD off to my out-laws as I refused to go & I'm missing her badly. Feeling guilty that I've ruined things for everyone - yup always thinking about everybody bloody else as usual!
Sitting here in tears & my pj's - I don't think there's ever been a day when I haven't got dressed before.......0 -

Thanks PV. Just had a long, hot bath to make myself feel better (not possible with a young baby normally!) but then OH texts me to say he's eating there  I have major issues with 'eating' at the mo as I usually don't get to! If I hadn't asked him to get me some food (twice) on Boxing Day (we provided a buffet for the out-laws) I would have gone hungry as I was left holding the baby & there was nothing left by the time I put her down. Same yesterday at my Mom's birthday dinner. She did, thankfully, sleep through Christmas dinner. Sorry, ranting now0

Think there's so many of us who think this now that there'll be a MSE Special Excursion put on for us all xx
Hope you feel better soon. Wish I could give you a hug, you sound very down but remember it's only 11 weeks since you gave birth and you're still getting over that physically and emotionally. No wonder you're feeling down. Enjoy the break and ME time you have now and try to get some rest, it will help xx:hello:
