  • Good evening :D

I had a visit from my sister & BiL this morning, before they headed back up north. She text me to say they were on their way (from my mum's about 10 miles away) so I text back to say 'OK, I will get dressed then!' I then woke the kids up :p This was about 10.30 this morning. I had set my alarm so I could put the bins out, but missed the recycling :( as they had just passed us when i went out with 2 sacks & a box  I wasn't chasing them in my dressing gown  Food bins out ok, and black sacks, so not too bad. I am so glad we have weekly collections! DD1 has cleared a hot spot in her room - and filled 1 pink sack & 2 black ones!!

I walked the dog. The doctor told me to rest my shoulder for 48 hours but I thought I would take him out in the car, with DD2. I didn't realise that the driving would be an effort :o (it's my left shoulder, and you change gear without even noticing normally)

i have also been to town. i had a diary on my list - the only thing I really wanted/needed - I didn't get it  WHSmiths ones were SO expensive (& not in the sale). sainburys had sold out  Will try Mr Ts tomorrow.

DD1 at her friends tonight, DD2 going out with friends (wants a lift into town) so DS & I are going out to eat (DH still working away) :p

OK - off we go then :)

Ok I still have a little bit of ironing to do so a fail from me but I'm happy with what's left...... About 6 things but I'm pooped!!
Reading the blessings some of you have put brought me to tears...... I realise that we are very lucky, I have a beautiful healthy daughter who will be 9 tomorrow, OH is doing well with all his meds and I have a job and go to college and don't require childcare so can take DD to school, pick her up, and go to shows/ assemblies.
I think I should stop feeling sorry for myself!!!!

Hope you have a fab new years eve, not sure I'll get on so love, hugs and spoons to all, speak soon xx

  • Evening all,

Final update of the day as the sofa is calling :)

    Managed to:

S&S toilets and sinks x2 bathrooms
    Scrub showercubicle & tiles
Soak showerheads in vinegar & scrub off the limescale
Hoover whole house ( DH did this :heart2: )
Get DH to help DS sort his room ( DD's was done by me & her before Xmas & has stayed relatively tidy - its a miracle :T)
Wash, dry any tablecloths, napkins etc
HHI - I have done everything in the basket, but there is a load in the drier, 1 in the WM & one more lot to do tomorrow. But, I'm almost there! I also watched 2 episodes of Holby while doing it so I count that as 'me' time :D
DH rehung the curtain & the clean one is now shorter than the other one. Looks like another load for the WM in the morning - lol
Sent DH out for the lottery ticket on his way to the gym - he got me the tickets & then found that the gym was closed  not a happy bunny.

Tidy, tidy, tidy - it will make cleaning much easier - I have really tried, but the kids just seem to make more mess than I can cope with. The bathrooms are sparkly, the kids rooms are OK, the kitchen is presentable & the rest - well- room for improvement I recon.;)

    Still left for tomorrow:
Mop kitchen & bathroom floors - I will try to do this first thing before the kids surface from their (lovely clean ) pits
Get kids to clean their school shoes (rest of uniform is done)
    Delete some emails, old links
    Recycle any Christmas catalogues etc
HHPaperwork - I know it's boring but it needs to be done. All my insurances run out on the 1/1 so I need to sort these.

Write a list of presents that need thank you notes
Phone somebody you forgot to send to or to thank them for their gift
Count some blessings from the year gone by.

  • Oh I also forgot that the Next courier also came with 7 (yes seven:o) bags of sale shopping for me.
DD & I spent an hour sorting & trying on & I've organised all the things to be returned already.

My friend ordered a load so thats all bagged and ready to collect tomorrow too.

Quite a productive day really :D

    hello everyone

    Yayyyy weekend :T:T

I am incredibly tired having lived on adrenaline for three days, but have to stay awake as DS is out celebrating his 19th birthday with friends and wants picking up at midnight

We had tea at the village pub before he went out - I forgot to eat last night  ...not the best way to ensure a good night's sleep!!

Work was better today - there was someone there who knew what I should be doing, and I'm a lot happier.

ETA ooops flying.....I'll be getting stuck in over the weekend
