    Carpet cleaning advice needed, please.

We're having a new suite delivered next Friday. The quality is not as good as the current one and it's not as nice, but we can't replace at the same level at the moment and the old sofa is falling to pieces. Having a second, smaller sofa will also be more useful than two chairs.

If I can manage to get rid of the old suite via freecycle before Friday it would be an ideal opportunity for cleaning the carpet. I'll phone someone in the morning, but may have to do it myself. Where would you go to hire a carpet cleaning machine?

Any advice gratefully received, as I borrowed a friends machine in the past, but don't want to do that again.

All deccies taken down and actually boxed properly and put in attic.
Deep clean in living room, floor hoovered and washed.
Dogs walked (although one has a bad leg, think its muscular from my mountain on B Day)
Big clean in kitchen, floor hoovered and washed.
    Walls wiped down in hall.
    Hot spot cleared.
    Washing done.
Chavda visited (and even kept my temper!:rotfl:)
    Session at the gym.
    All rubbish sorted including re-cycling
    Dog towels washed.

    Go me!

um 2012..............will have to think about this one, but at the mo it is "eat less" and "exercise more". Same as last year!

I know our BnQ have them between the tills and the exit. http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/flooring/rug-doctor/Rug-Doctor-11367604

Also try your local HSS (this shows prices)

Hope this helps. I have a carpet washing machine (upright vax) that I bought maybe 8 years ago, I wish I had got one with an upholstery/stairs thingy.

I have moved the boxes from the study to the empty spare room and am now in the process of moving the chest of drawers into the study. I have ordered a wardrobe that matches all the other ik*a birch furniture in the study. So in theory I can be organised. Anything not work-related will be boxed up and moved out of the study ready for the next round of reorganisation in the spare room!

Just need OH to come over and finalise the wiring with the electrician and out up two shelves and a curtain pole and fix a phone and possibly a notice board to the wall. I think I will be able to do the wardrobe myself, but if not, I have a feeling it may arrive while he's here ;)

Flying aims for 2012 - get organised so I can keep things clean, keep sending ironing out and hope that my lovely cleaner keeps having enough cancellations to help me keep on top of things when work or health get in the way!

Oh sorry hun that's my fault. I didn't copy it all across this week, as it was not a normal week. Here is the link to last week's thread with it on.

Just going to set the wm then I'll do tomorrow's list - your last one of this year so shall I be kind or mean to you all.

    hello everyone.

Thankyou all for the first day at work best wishes - I've just caught up with the thread and read them.

Yesterday was truly awful. I really did  when I got home. And I was soooooo tired. The person who was supposed to show me what to do wasn't there, and the lady that did show me admitted that she hadn't a clue :eek:. Close friends all received a text saying 'Can't like it!!!

Anxiety levels went through the roof overnight BUT....drum roll....I went back today. Still haven't a clue if what I'm doing is right...but at least it'll be consistently wrong as I'm very methodical :rotfl:

Not quite so tired tonight. Hoping the anxiety will respond to a less stressful day and push off.

The next trick will be combining work and flying so that the house doesn't fall apart again :( Only thing I've done yesti and today is put out the rubbish!

DS is 19 tomorrow. My baby is all growed up.

I'm soooo pleased it's Friday tomorrow. And a three day weekend in which to recover/catch up with flying. woop woop

    love to you all xx
