Hey, quick question: do boots accept coupons? They have Huggies half price just now and the huggies website have a £2 off coupon so would get a pack for only £1.24! Happy days! lol

Been confirmed that Boots will accept the coupon from here: https://www.huggiesclub.co.uk/bump-on-board/products/offers/offer-171

God this all sounds awful, starting to wonder if this is worth it, for me? Has anyone been in the leeds branches on the morning of the 75 Percent off who could tell me how bad it is? If it's really bad I may not bother

I think its worth a go if you live nearish and can get there when the store opens, otherwise there isn't a lot left. I usually quite enjoy it but then I love a good sale and finding a bargain! It may be manic at the time but its satisfying if you can get a few bits that you like and will use, often products are at cheaper prices than the individual items on the non-sale shelves. I usually try to get a few good haircare sets etc. If it's an hour of your day and you don't get anything you might be annoyed but its the chance you take with any sale I guess! :)

But if I get to Lakeside this year, is it really going to be as bad as this? I've got visions of those scenes you see on telly outside the Selfridges store when the doors open and masses of people push each other out of the way....can't be that bad, can it.....?
Erm...YES. I remember last year as they unlocked the doors and we all bustled in, everyone hurrying down the main isle, and me and a woman I'd met the previous evening (while we were casing the joint just before closing time) diverted off to the right and down the side isle. As my hurry turned into a gallop I can actually remember thinking to myself "You are RUNNING into a sale - you have sunk to new depths". The year before I also experienced women with trollies they'd robbed from Asda just going in and with one arm just sweeping entire shelves of cosmetics off straight into the trollies. Its like carbooters in a rugby scrum.
  • I avoided the rush last year as I got very lucky as the store near me was putting signs up and reducing to 90% 15 minutes before closing for the next day, and a sales assistant said take what you want and they will honour it at the till. As three of us took bits to the till, the woman serving was a complete trout, but we all grinned and were glad to avoid the rush the next day.
Might go in this year and try my luck too ;-)

Anyone know if 75% sale due to start tomorrow?
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Late afternoon yesterday, went into the Swansea branch and they were taking down the Half Price Sale signs. Probably trying to throw us off the scent ;)

    22% after 50% isn't 72%, it's 61%, isn't it ? I could very well be wrong as my maths A level is just a (very) distant memory :-)

Might be Boots logic to give the % off the full price item - a glitch we are all familiar with and fond of ourselves!:rotfl:
