Boots 1/2 Price Sale

I went into my local Boots (Romford) yesterday and asked an assistant who was tidying the sale stuff about the 75% sale and she said she didnt know and wasnt sure there would be one this year. But was still lots of stock, surely they must know by now.0

Went for a quick scout around my nearest Boots and they still have tons left. It isn't a very big store as it's on a retail park but they had 5/6 rows of sale stuff still. Place was empty so I don't know who they think is going to be buying any more at 505 off lol!0

I hate to say I told you so, but.... I did say from around the end of December when people first started asking, it was hugely unlikely to start before late Jan. As has been said, last year's was Wed 19th Jan. the year before was Wed 20th Jan - the first time it had been so late. It had been expected to start Wed 13th but the rumour put about was "due to the snow / bad weather, people hadn't been out shopping so much, so Boots hadn't shifted as much at 50% off as they would like". How true this is, I don't know, but certainly LAST year was nothing to do with the snow as there wasn't any by that time!
I put my bets all along as Wed 18th Jan for this year, and wasn't really surprised that it never happened yesterday!
Not sure where in the country you are but there was heaps of the stuff during this time here in the South East! Have never seen so much snow before, we had to dig the car out a few times after Christmas as there was a good foot of snowfall at any given time. Certainly was the case here!Comping wishlist for 2017

Same here, I'm in the South (Hampshire) and we had snow the week of the 13th Jan, it was still quite bad on the 20th as I can remember my auntie having to scrape the car before we left for the Boots sale !0 -

Get a grip, please, it's only 25% over what you can buy stuff for now and you don't have to go through the (frankly undignified) race through the shop to get to the shelves, or the almost 'snatch and grab' attitude - with elbows and pushing - to get at products.
Saving a few pounds in the meantime might be a reasonable reward, but I'm afraid I'm not Kamikaze enought to try....:)
I have what I need from Boots, I didn't miss out and @ 50% off it was a price I was prepared to pay and I didn't have get all emotional or go to A&E as a consequence...:p
I've made savings in more ways than one. It's not all about money y'know...0 -

That's not sad - what IS sad is I've still got a cupboard half full of bloomin gift sets of smellies from their 75% sale..... 2 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!! Keep forgetting they're there!!0 -

Get a grip? We're not the ones analysing the thread :rotfl:
I'm starting to get worried about this 75% off sale -I've never actually made it to a big store for this much awaited event. Last year I bunked out of work to our tiny store which had a tiny shelf of stuff with NO-ONE even in the shop. I got 2 lovely cranberry gift sets on my points which I confess I still have in my gift drawer....
But if I get to Lakeside this year, is it really going to be as bad as this? I've got visions of those scenes you see on telly outside the Selfridges store when the doors open and masses of people push each other out of the way....can't be that bad, can it.....? If it is, then I am gonna give it a miss, I really don't do crowds, stress, or rudeness.
Is it much worse than the 50% off? I've been there the past 3 years and it was pretty civilised, lots of people but no-one was rude or pushing each other. Certainly no-one with trolleys emptying whole shelves....
I love this from the new BOOTS SALE PAGE
Toiletries for less
Even if your stocking has been filled with toiletries this Christmas, you can never have enough :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
AND weird how there is still a Christmas link working....hmmLess stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
I don't know about the stores in central London/Lakeside/Bluewater etc - they could be pretty busy, but in my local (big) Boots I was the only one in there last year when the 75% sale started!
I doubt if it'll be like the Selfridges/Next sale as the dates of those are announced in advance and well known! The date of the Boots 75% sale is shrouded in mystery. :rotfl:
