Just said exactly the same on the other thread.0 -
I looked in the Oxford store today. There were about 7 racks of sale items upstairs - a lot of Sanctuary, Soap & Glory, Project D, Ted Baker, Umberto Giannini, some Hello Kitty and No7 and loads of the pastel fairground design toiletry sets. I collected a basketful of things then thought 'nah, I don't need it' and put it all back. My son was proud of me. Well, he didn't say so but I could tell!:D0

Did anyone see any hackett mens toiletries? There was none in mine.

For those asking about adding points after the transaction this is what I know.
(1) Only a validated receipt can get the points given at a later date as this prints a barcode that the Sales Assistant can scan to get them on.
(2) "XXX Points on a £XX Spend" are now INSTEAD of rather than in addition to your normal spend .....so these cannot be added after either as you will have earnt normal points.
(3) Double points coupons are valid for 2 uses only with quite a lengthy date on them and need to be given at the point of sale. Again cannot be given afterwards either.
Of course in (2) and (3) your vouchers are still valid for use another time.
Recently the advantage card machine only gives me 150 points on a £25 spend. As I would get 100 points anyway the bonus is now only 50 points !
Oh for the days when they were truly additional0 -

I only saw 2 solitary items and I was there early in my store:
1 x Keyring set (£2.50) (Body spray, shower gel, metal keyring)
1 x Sock set (£4.00) (Body spray, shower gel, pair of sports socks)
I left them at my store but they were picked up quickly......obviously they were popular in the 50% off sale to have so little in the 75% off.
(Wish I had got those items now)

While I do agree with you that the wholesale greedy grabbers are deeply annoying, I doubt that Boots will ever bother to limit the amount of items any one person can buy in the sale. They just want rid of it, they don't care who buys it. In fact it's adventageous to have these big sales as it gets the stuff out the shop faster than people buying it in dribs and drabs.Val.0 -

I agree with that, I don't think they will ever stop it. Just a shame reallyHey ho

Went to my local this morning (Aldridge) was first at the door, until someone tried to push past me! Got loads of bits (would have totalled £604 if no offers on):
Umberto Gianni sets in gorge bag
Mini Perfume sets
Extracts Mini Sets
Front Cover pink set
Front Cover Rainbow Set
The Poppy King No 7 set
No7 compact
Gillette Pro Glide bags
Loreal Vita Lift mens sets
Sctricly latin look
Strictly eye colour collection
Fearne brushes
Fearne night shadow set
Ted Baker look book
Charlie red sets
So Chic sets
S & G fragrance sets
Project D Lip Trio bags
And thats about it! Also went in Cannock at about 1pm but it was stripped of everything but S & G Tins and Hello Kitty stuff.
Went back to Aldridge just and there was only the big Project D minis set left and crackers!
I loved every second, but am now exhausted!
Its up to people how they spend their money, so whether bargain hunting for pressies, themselves or to sell on at a later date we shouldn't judge! Boots don't care, as long as we spend money with them!0 -

Hope you all got a bargain
I must admit I saw some real stonking loads in people's trollies but at the end of the day good luck to them and I don't know how Boots could implement such a policy. It would be the poor sales assistants that would be on the receiving end of the inevitable abuse......and people would find a way round it anyway.
Live and let live.....early bird catches the worm etc.
At least Boots don't do a Next and invite some people in before others :eek:0 -
Glad I decided to go to Chester as there was a better selection than I was expecting as they had no Champneys out last week! A few people surrounded by piles of bags while someone else ferried stuff over but generally a good atmosphere and didn't notice any pushing and shoving. People very helpful, pointing out where stuff was and telling people who hadn't noticed the sale was on!
Very helpful SA who tried to find out a price for the unlabelled Champneys vanity case and more thanks to the manager who said I could have it for £6.
Spent £62 and got
2 Sanctuary cream bags
1 Sanctuary box
1 Sanctuary trio of jars (which had been left by the till!)
6 small Sanctuary sets @ £2 each
I large Champneys vanity case - only £6 woohoo!
3 Champneys travel sets
2 Botanics for men
1 Need for Speed garage
and then nipped into M&S and got the last pair of cashmere gloves and some other nice gloves and a scarf for £1 each.0
