Anyone been to the Canary Wharf store thinking of giving that a look for some S & G & sanctuary sets :)

You obviously haven't been there recently....Jubilee Place had nothing even in the 50% off and the one by Waitrose had a tiny unit at the back with a few soaps and 2 Gok sets (sure they are long gone now.)
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • Has anyone been in either of the Boots stores in Ipswich? :)
  • just popped to Leamington Parade store, got cute pink cow flask 2.50, ceramic beermat set with pub games on 1.50, Ferne Cotton bronzing set £3 and Hello Kitty eyeshadows £3, very quite as after lunch hours, quite a bit left

Did you happen to see any Soap and Glory or Trevor Sorbie/Mark Hill/ Lee Stafford? Tempting to go if there's anything I want.

I've stopped going to the Boots in Milton Keynes 75% sale. Every year they let a guy come in and buy up whole shelves of stuff in one go. If you go to take something off the shelf the Boots staff actually tell you that it has been purchased by this guy! He has a huge trolly and gets the staff to load it up. It makes me so angry. There should be a limit to how much you can buy one one day.

Was that Centre MK? Because I was there at 8.30 and there were no trollies just baskets and big blue bags, and it was all a lovely atmosphere. I met up with a friend and we practically crawled out of the store with our bags. There was one chap who did buy at least 20 bags of stuff and the manager was serving him was helping him but I presumed he was buying for a school raffle or charity auction etc There was certainly no feelings of Ebayers clearing the decks.

I was surprised at how much stock there was this year and although I did not get my Starbucks sets I am :j

I was there at 8am, the place was heaving!!!! Lots of Sanctuary and Project D stuff. I gave all that a miss, have too many toiletries anyway - I actually picked up the last No7 hatbox and put it down again - I don't need any more makeup!!

    I got:

3x Christmas baby PJs £15 down to £3!!
Birdcage mirror £12 down to £3
2x packs of shabby chic magnets £36 down to £1.50
    3x Lindt Santas £3.50 down to 87p
3x jewellery stands £12 down to £3 (really need these)
Vintage style mug £6 down to £1.50
GU dark truffles £6 down to £1.50 (for OH)
Fabric cupcake craft set £16 down to £4

I didn't do too badly considering! :D I was happy with my little bargains. :)

It was like total mayhem around me! People were laden with stuff; two ladies were standing guard over about 9 baskets full! Definitely the busiest 75% sale I've ever seen in the Donegall Place store, must be because it now gets blabbed all over the press and Twitter.

There were people there with literally DOZENS of Sanctuary sets each, must be eBayers or car booters!!! The postage on them will be crippling I imagine, so good luck to them trying to make a profit. :rotfl:

ETA: a colleague went at lunchtime and she said that there was hardly anything left! Glad I made myself go in at opening time! :D

Thanks you saved me a wasted journey & no I don't go there much but thought it may be one of the less busy East London stores :D

Just returned from crown point which had a fair bit left this morn around 1030 no s&g or sanctuary though lots of hello kitty, strictly and kiss me quick and foodie things quite a bit of bobbypin sets. There were a couple of women with trolleys absolutely heaving!
called into stockport merseyway hardly anything at all left had lots of ted baker mens washbags not much in them though and lots of biscuit tins with belgian style biscuits £10 full price so only paid £2.50 got a couple of those ,
The peel centre store had more and some S&G also some of the no7 big make up collections £60 lots of strictly and big sanctuary boxes £25 not much mens stuff and no toys left there was a sa filling shelves up so may be worth a quick look in there but wouldnt bother with merseyway.

Ooh I really should stop looking at this now, makes me want to go out and round Boots again (luckily car is in garage now being repaired):rotfl:it was such a buzz this morning! it was my first 75% off, as I usually shop online. The tales of rudeness, shelf clearing and pushing are very sad :(.

I bought FAR more than I had planned to and my sister and OH who both frowned deeply at any talk of this sale are now both booked to come round and have a rumage through my spoils! How people managed to carry £100s worth of stuff is beyond me. I spent £70 and really could not have carried anything else - my arms were aching. Mind you, once I loaded the car i was tempted to go back round again and had to force myself to drive away!!

The staff at Lakeside were brilliant, very friendly and helpful, despite the chaos. They did say they'd all come in early to do their own shopping so maybe that's why - fair enough I say.
