Hello all
Managed a quick run at the gym yesterday and I made sure to wear my new top which of course was being saved for best. Best what? I don't know... Swimming tomorrow as well.
Fabbing today will hopefully be nails and shaving my hairy legs before tomorrows swim.

I'm pretty sure I got my slip from Matalan and they definately have them in M&S.
take care all

I'm naturally nocturnal to start with,.
So you're really a were-wolf!!:D Seriously, I have sleeping problems too. I take an age to get to sleep then wake up within two hours. Then I get back to sleep again and sleep heavily so I'm like a zombie first thing too. How I'd love to sleep through the night.Lily_The_Legend wrote: »One other idea I had was could you switch the OJ to a piece of fruit, and is the Red Bull-type drink full sugar? Is there a lower-sugar caffeine drink you could try at all? Just an idea.
I can see why you need the caffeine now LW. I was going to comment that other than perhaps the cake and the HM bread (unless wholemeal), you're eating plan is very similar to Slimming World. If you tried the plan you'd find the switch very easy. I have sugar-free squash instead of juice, but it's pretty yuk!
Bratz, I'm in agreement with everyone who's suggested you pursue this further. To be told 'it's bad' and then let you go away and worry about it is patronising and unprofessional. Whether you go to your GP or write to consultant or both, I'd follow it up.
Willow, that's a good record of dressing smartly when you're out. I think lots of us could look back and count up the changes we've made. You sort of get used to new ways after a while and stop congratulating yourself.
LL, totally agree with you about dignified language. While I'm not averse to the odd swear word for effect or colour, what I hate is the way of speaking where foul language is so interspersed in every sentence it's like punctuation! Personally I think it's lazy and people who do it may think it's cool. Another of my pet hates is sloppy speech. I don't mean accents, I love those, I mean poor pronunciation. I recently met someone who (amongst other things) said 'in' at the end of words rather than 'ing'. It really grated on me:mad: Rant over:o:D
I'm desperate to know more about your trip LL. Is it just you or are you travelling with someone? Will you have free time to see the sights? Is it all business dress or will you need casual stuff too? Sorry to be so nosey.
We're off out for supper tonight. Some of you will remember helping me to choose an outfit for my friend's wedding in November. Tonight we're going to have a 'night at the movies' watching the wedding video. I'm all showered and slathered, hair styled and I think I might wear my new wrap dress.

Never looked at SW or any other eating plan - if I think too much about it, I don't bother to eat at all; and I couldn't join a group - even if I was mobile, I don't "do" groups. I do meal-plan, but that's really so that if there's root veg or something like that involved, I get Mr LW to prep them the night before and leave them in water, as I'm not safe with sharp knives.:o
Mr LW and I both absolutely refuse to compromise on taste, though - I've never yet found a "low-whatever" version of anything that tastes as it should; and low-fat cheese is like eating candle-grease! The HM bread is indeed wholemeal; I get the flour at the local farmers market; and any cakes or biscuits in this house are all HM and made to be served in small portions.;)
*Groan* I suppose I'd better get off my bum and get tonight's dins started - mushroom risotto, two-thirds of which Mr LW will eat, and one third for me.;) Can you tell, I don't really enjoy eating?:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

i had low fat cheese the other day! were allowed a bigger portion on SW. tasted awful!! i'd rather have less of the real thing!
theres some things i refuse to give up that my group frown upon. i refuse to live in a world where a sunday roast doesnt involve me eating chicken skin so i always eat it and ignore it even though its probably a horrific amount of syns. i'd also rather use my syns on making proper white sauce from scratch for my fish. one portion is only about 4.5/5 syns with a part of a HE serving of milk but they all look at me like I'm blaspheming talking about using syns for anything but chocolate, crisps and booze.0 -
Re low fat cheese. Lidl have one in right now for £1.19/200g and it's SO TASTYYYY!!! To me it tastes like a really nice west country cheddar, doesn't taste at all low fat.
Has been a very long day for me, and very stressful. I'll come back to catch up after dinner, NEED FOOD!!! I've decided to keep a photo food diary for a few days for my blog, it's quite fun!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Think Stephen Hawkins and you get the picture. Unfortunately most of SS just don't seem to get it - they can be so bl**dy patronising - talking down to him as if he were a 5 year old.
For all their "training" and courses for his "human rights" - ha - they are always bleating on about this one - they have very little understanding and even less common sense or nous. Besides them he is an academic colossus and yet so often they talk to him as if he were a half wit.
LL I have seen this happen too and it is one of my pet peeves. I just don't get it why people do this. I have worked with kids for years, including kids with special needs, and they can always tell when someone is talking down to them - its one of the things I love about working with them (correction, loved as I am no longer in teaching) as they would usually complain bitterly about it.0 -

This is my main issue at the moment - Dry Skin. I always suffer with psoriasis on my scalp and eczema patches on my body, but the cold weather/central heating combo has made the skin around my eyes really dry, flaky and pinkI'm trying to combat this with Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream at the mo because E45 stings - does anyone else get dry skin round their eyes this time of year?
Hiya Tete en l'Air. Welcome to the thread. My husband has really bad ecaema and psorisis. He quite often gets very dry patches of eczema around his eyes - usually above his eyes, but underneath his eyebrows. I make him up a wee aromatherapy blend of Sweet Almond Oil with some Roman chamomile and lavender in it which really helps him. I usually keep the dilution farily low, only adding a few drops of each essential oil.
It may also be worth considering the Oil Cleansing Method a few people on here have been talking about as the oil would really nourish your skin. Or you could use a mix of Sweet almond oil with some Jojoba oil mixed in as an alternative moisturiser for face or badly affected parts of your boday. The Jojoba mimics the skin's own natural sebum. I hope this helps. al x0 -

Hi All. Zero fabbing done today - having one of my 'down' days. Came on here tonight as I knew the positivity on this thread would give me a wee boost. It certainy has worked so thank you everyone.
Rummer, I have a huge issue with emotional eating too. Someone reccommened Geneen Roth - she has a book called 'When you eat at the refirgerator, pull up a chair; how to feel thin, gorgous and happy whe you feel anything but' which is quite good. It certainly has not cured my emotional eating but is useful to dip into. You have also mentioned that you have booked into a dance class. i have been wanting to do this for years but have always been wiating until I lost wieght so i wouldn't feel so ridiculous at the class. Well,I am now even heavier but I think I am going to give it a try. With 8 stone to lose i want to find a fun way of losing weight.0 -
