Tete - it's not really difficult - more a little faffy finding the bets etc (apparently there are sites for this as well but I can't one I like). There's a good guide on the Gambling forum on here, in one of the stickys at the top. Don't panic if it looks a little daunting to start with - I had to read a few times and do some practice gos before it 'clicked' for me. If you want any help with it just ask.
Bratz - maybe call them back up and ask them to be more clear on just how serious they think it is and why they think it's ok to wait until April. It's a while to wait if you're going to be worrying the whole time.0 -
Morning all,
..... LL will have to give us our plan to take over the world :rotfl:
I need to work on my master plan - evil cackle :rotfl::rotfl:
Have decided I need to get myself in gear with the money making so am starting the matched betting again and have a few items listed on ebay - don't have a great deal to put on there tbh, I think maybe I need to try and look for a niche on there (obviously easier said then done!).
/QUOTE]
Is MB ok for maths dunces - or do you need to be a maths whizz.:o
Bratz - what a worry for you, not nice to have something like that hanging over your head. I guess if you are having regular smears etc then you are being closely monitored.
Would it be worth visiting your GP to discss the results of all the tests. I know you've spoken once but I cant see the harm in going back for another chat. You can always act daft and pretend that you were so shocked you didn't take it all in the first time.
There's a good "D" in there.
Now I like to think that I am reasonably intelligent but sometimes I find it pays to deliberately act "Daft". I think this is a bit of a northern word - it can mean both silly as giggly and acting the fool, but also in it's northern connotation it can mean a "bit slow on the uptake". I find it a useful tactic sometimes.
D is also for
Dignity
Dressing like a slapper, getting drunk and disorderly is not dignified, but I'm sure we're all ladies here and none of us would dream of demeaning ourselves in such a way.
I do feel very saddened when I see the unedifying spectacle that unfolds in our town centres though. It's bad enough when our young men drink themselves insensible, get into fights and have sex with anything with a pulse but I find it truly horrifying that our young women do the same. The dangers they open themselves to just don't bear thinking about.
So behaving with delicacy and decorum and preserving our dignity is just so important.
How often do we see quite smartly dressed people and then they open their mouths and out comes a stream of invective and foul language. Urgh.
So ladies no matter how provoked we are - remember we are better than that. Let them rant and rave, swear and curse - there's no need for us to get down in the gutter with them.
Dignity - Part 2
Don't let anyone cricitise you for having a little pride in your appearance. I know I've mentioned this before but for the benefit of the newbies - personal care is much, much more than vanity.
I've spent a lot of time recently in and around hospitals, nursing homes etc - far too much time for my liking - and I have come to realise that proper personal care and a little pride in our appearance is not mere vanity it's about preserving one's self respect and dignity.
Anyway time for lunch. Have a good day everyone.0 -
LL - definately don't need to be a maths whizz or I would be stuffed
I use an online matched bets calculator that works out the maths bit for me. Would recommend it to anyone, have done a couple of small ones since weekend to get me back into it and am over £20 up already. Feel a bit happier to do some of the bigger ones now, which give more.

Unfortunately, I can't see where I can cut out any food - I eat very little as it is.
Typical day:
Early morning: 1 cup black coffee, OR coffee with just a smidge of milk; no sugar. (Brought to me by Mr LW) We use coffee beans, not the instant stuff.
Brekkie: Small wine glass fruit juice, plus small bowl bran flakes, a little milk (semi-skimmed). At weekends and when Mr LW is working from home, I usually skip the cereal.
During morning: 1 glass Red Bull substitute (ie the Tesco or Morries version)
Lunch: 1 slice HM bread with a Quorn slice and cucumber, NO butter; then either a very small piece HM cake (eg carrot'n'orange) OR 1 HM biscuit OR an apple OR a banana. Sometimes I don't bother with any cake, biscuit or fruit at all.
During day: 4 cups black coffee (I'm pouring it myself, so don't bother with milk)
Dins: 1 small helping of a home-cooked dish; last night was veggie Shepherd Spy; tonight will be mushroom risotto, to give an idea of the sort of thing.
Dessert: small portion of some sort of HM fruit dessert, eg apple crumble. NO custard or other topping. We don't always have dessert, if the main meal was a filling one, such as veggie stew.
During evening: 2 or 3 cups tea, with lemon not milk, and NO sugar.
I don't bother with snacks or supper.
So I don't really see where I can cut back.:(
Not sure if it would help you to lose weight, but just noticed you have a lot of caffeine, maybe switch a couple of those coffees and teas to glasses of water or herbal teas?Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Lily, well done on the weightloss - that's fantastic!
Thank you!0 -
Unfortunately, I rely on caffeine to stay awake.:( I didn't mention that I often have a couple of caffeine tablets first thing in the morning, if I need to be compos mentis before 11:00 - ie if I have a canine guest that needs taking out in the morning.
I'm naturally nocturnal to start with, and sleep very poorly at night; lately this has been made worse by pain that even morphine doesn't completely eliminate.
I've spoken to the GP about it, but she was less than useless. "Go to bed half an hour earlier".... yes, and all that does is give me another half hour staring at the ceiling and listening to Mr LW pushing out zzzzzz's.:( Sleeping tablets don't work; all that happens is that I still lie awake all night, and I'm even more zombified the next day.:(
I've tried "relaxation" techniques, and they leave me even more wound up than I started, as I've no patience with them.
I do switch to tea in the evening, so I'm not having caffeine after about 16:00.
Oops, that nearly turned into a rant there.....:silenced:
ETA I do drink several glasses of tapwater a day - I always have some by me and sip it often, as I get a very dry mouth. I didn't include that, as water is calorie-free, right? If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Ah, sorry, I didn't realise that! Thought you had included everything you drink.
Well it sounds like the doctor has not been much help re your problems sleeping. The pain must make it pretty impossible to sleep.
It's horrible when you're laying there knowing you need to sleep but just can't.
One other idea I had was could you switch the OJ to a piece of fruit, and is the Red Bull-type drink full sugar? Is there a lower-sugar caffeine drink you could try at all? Just an idea.0 -

The juice is to take my pot of 11 tablets with; if I didn't have those to take, I wouldn't bother with it at all.:o I've tried the low-sugar Red Bull, and it's disgusting!
11 tablets? I'm surprised it is such a small glass in that case.
Oh right, sorry I wouldn't know I can't even bear the smell of Red Bull let alone the taste!0 -

It's an improvement; at one point I was taking a total of 32 tablets a day.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
