  • Hi everyone including the newbies! :hello:

No fabbing for me today, think I just did well managing to get into work (period pain ow!). Was off sick yesterday with it plus an upset stomach, and was made to feel guilty about that at work today. :(

Fabbed myself up on Saturday though, and we went for a walk around a village and had brunch in a nice cafe. :) Didn't feel great on Sunday, but still put a bit of slap on to go to the supermarket, and even DH wore jeans rather than his normal jogging bottoms both days! :D

Weighed myself Sunday, and I've lost another 1.5lbs, so have lost 6.5lbs since Jan 3, so I'm really pleased with that! :j

DH is away tonight for work so I'm going to stay at my Mum and stepdad's. Think an evening being spoilt (not that DH doesn't spoil me!) by my mum and a cuddle with their dog will be lovely, glad I arranged that as think if I was home alone tonight I'd prob be a bit of a misery guts! :o

evilsquid - Can you use toothpaste on the spots to dry them out at all?

adelight - What a good workout! Not sure I could lift a third of my body weight! But could def walk to the shops more often when we are doing a smaller food shop. Used to do it all the time back when I was at uni!

Better get back to work now really, have a good evening everyone. :)

    Hello all

My skin feels so dry in this weather and I've been using loads of hand cream.
Off to the gym in a bit. I've been going for ages and still feel a little intimidated by the beautiful people, the ones who don't finish their routine all red and sweaty like me! I really miss going if I can't get there, I joined to help control the panic attacks which were affecting me and i find that jogging really helps calm me down.

Tete en l'Air I wear petticoats if I need to, I also have a strappy slip to wear under dresses.

    take care all

I am off to weightwatchers inna min, need to change my top first. It was pasta and meatballs at the school today and one of my darlings covered me beautifully. Had a non paint manicure earlier, didnt have time to let a colour dry, and the girl didnt charge me (guess she knows I will be back lol)

I did make it out for my run tonight and am very pleased I went after almost, completely talking myself out of it. But I went and it went well so that was a nice surprise too. Only 40mins though so not very far. Hoping to go again tomorrow and do the same one.

Fabwise will be usual skincare, nail oil and a lot of aveeno to moisturise my drying skin - I came home from work to find a few flakes on my face and I think it was Sun and Mon harsh cold air that did it. Should be ok with a few days of this though. I never used to have this problem and I think its the after effects of the eczema outbreak I had that ended last year.

Determined - oh yes, thats a good one and that's me. I'm determined to get my masters and do my half marathon and when I do I'll smile, smile and smile and then some more again!

Evening all! Just had a quick read through of all you've been up to and it seems that some of us need a well deserved rant and then a hug! Grrrr to all those annoying doctors, SS people, and condescending gits!

Yesterday and today have been bonkers at work - not even time for lunch and meetings before and after work, then about 3-4 hours more at home in the evenings. I am officially pooped!

I have kept up the basics (make up off, moisturiser, hand cream, dressing fairly smartly and perfume etc) but haven't done anything really special.
I'm wearing a skirt/dress to work tomorrow - people always comment when I do because it doesn't happen very often! (Not sure that's a good thing though!)

    Hello Everyone

Not been a very fab day here to be honest. I was deeply upset by someone today and have spent the evening too emotional to be fab. Although it was horrid I did stand up for myself which I wouldn't have done a few weeks ago, so thank you ladies this thread continues to help me make great changes in my life.

The good diet intentions went out the window too as I came in and hoovered numerous flake cakes (while sobbing). However I am not going to dwell on things and when I log off here I am going to trawl through my new SW books and meal plan for the week.

Anyone have any tips on preventing emotional eating? I eat to celebrate and commiserate and my weakness is chocolate, well if I am honest anything packed full of sugar :o. The next few weeks are going to be hectic and I really want to slim down and remain happy and healthy. Adelight has already given me some great advice, however the more help I can get the better!

Rummer have a hug xxx How to break emotional eating. Hmmm I can recommend a book by Geneen Roth called How to break free from Emotional Eating. It does tie in to ditching the diet mentality but it has managed to cut down on my emotional eating habits.

So ladies I am being proactive and looking online at clothes for spring and summer. New Look.....shame on you for your obsession with cropped tops and round necks :(

Anyway background: I am apple shaped. Oh joy. So swimmers shoulders, not bad shaped legs (but not for showing bare legged thanks to pregnancy related varicose veins), bingo wings <sighs wistfully at a dream of skinny arms>

I have available black cropped leggings, a pair of jeggins (trust me I never thought Id see the day BUT I bought them, chopped them off and rolled them up to make cropped jeans :)) and my "bury me in them when I die" jeans. I have a couple of tunic type tops and a short sleeved wrap dress.

So I don't think I can ever "do" a capsule wardrobe - I permamenly live in casual clothing so not much need for pencil skirts and smart work wear like that. I was thinking of maybe purchasing a few more tunics for jeans or leggings and maybe a few more non logo t shirts.

I could probably do with some more light weight summer knitwear for layering purposes (this IS the UK after all ;)) and a few more pairs I think of ballerina style pumps. Chic and yet easy to wear and run after the kids.

Have I missed anything you can think of???? Any suggestions? I have a maxi dress that my mum made me but no other summer dresses :o

I did it! Now a member of a gym for the first time ever. Gym induction at 9.30 tomorrow morning:eek: followed by a pilates class. I must be mad. Not the pace of introduction I would advise to others, but I am reasonably(ish) fit as play a lot of tennis already so although I will be absolutely cream-crackered I shouldn't injure myself with too much too soon

So over to you Watty! Hope you have fun at your class:D

    well done!

((hugs)) evilsquid, what's the cleanser called? Gonna black list it. Get some tea tree oil asap! I also find that eating processed or generally "bad" foods make me terribly bloated, isn't it a brilliant deterrent to keep you on track? :D

its was Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel. i think the ingredient thats caused it all is isopropyl myristate.

I've got some origins on the spot and liz earle spot on so I'm on those. also doubling up my bare minerals skin revver upper to twice a day cz that has salicylic acid in too.
