rummer i am "wel jel"
ballet class sounds like so much fun!
evilsquid love the CRAP mantra, but i just can't kick the c all together
alikay that dark blonde will look more light brown so try it next time. i do reeeally recommend professional dyes though, it's the same stuff but unboxed and you have to measure it yourself- but how hard is it to add 1tbs of this to 2tbs of that?there's also a much better range of light brown/dark blonde shades.
I'm really sore this morning from exercising yesterday, I don't even want to imagine how sore I'd be if I hadn't done yoga, stretching, body brushing and a hot bath afterwards  And I painted my nails finally :j
Me and OH had carrot, spinach and orange juice this morning. Very tasty and the pulp will become a *hopefully* equally tasty carrot cake(free of refined sugar ofc).
coconut oil virgin is best as it contains the most "impurities" (aka minerals and good stuff!), so the stinkier it is the better it is for you. Eat it, cook it, wash with it, rinse your mouth with it http://oilpulling.com/oilpullingmethod.htm , moisturiser with it!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Can anyone help me find it.
I'm thinking it's the weather - it is so dark and grey and miserable.
The only "C"s I can think of today are Caffeine and how much Clutter here is lying around.
So I will go and have some caffeine, whilst I chase SS (again) to come and remove all this equipment, go shopping and then come home and clean my tip of a house.
Maybe I'll find my mojo in amongst all the mess.
Have a good day X
Just editing to say - apparently SS are coming to pick up the equipment on Monday. They just hadn't bothered to inform me. :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning Ladies,
goodness how this thread grows!
haven't been able to get on for a few days- things are beyond hectic at the moment- to be expected in January but am also having some issues with my Mum (though I love her dearly) at the moment...I know I just need to be calm and keep the boundaries clear but it's not easy when you are mentally exhausted, and unfortunately Ma is one who once you give in an inch decides to steamroller the rest of the way...sigh...thank god DH is so lovely otherwise I think I might give up!
not a huge amount of fabbing done recently, just keeping up with the basics, have realised that January is not the time for me to be trying to shake up the routine and do loads of exercise, I'll do what I can when I can and knucle down properly in feb when things should be less stressful..at least I hope so as I really can't do another month like this one:eek:
what I have managed to do though is keep my outfits going- today is black wollen dress with a mustard yellow knitted long waistcoat. light make up- went through my make up box and found a gold/bronze cream eyeshadow which seems to work well for daytime with a bit of mascara, a bit of mineral foundation- I do have issues with oily skin so do tend to need to use a primer- though I often use milk of magnesia- seems to work as well as anything else I've tried.
re the oily skin- I got a new poweder for oily skin off amazon a few weeks ago- oil blocker by black opal- I've been reading around for ages trying to find something that will help and so this does seem to help- I dust a little of this over my face in the morning and then around lunch time I dab and re-dust and it does seem to keep things looking "fresh"...
right am going to try and go back and catch up with all the posts,
a hug for all who need them and fabby vibes to you all!

Hi all,
podperson- Guessing you don't have insurance on him
No unfortunately hadn't finished sifting thirough the minefield of dog insurance before this happened:(
skymist-
Another c, for me, is remaining constantly curious about life.... this is what keeps me going, even with very little social day-to-day interreaction. Watching the birds darting about, seeing Mother Natures' daily display of often magnificent cloud formations, plants coming into bud, weather events such as the gales that have lately been blowing about...all this stuff takes hold of my thoughts and imagination and lifts my spirits, instead of just letting my mind concentrate on my isolation, and gives me the contentment that LL was talking about. Of course the interweb is just brimming with stuff too, and I love it!!! Don't know how I would have managed if I'd retired 20-30 years ago...probably gone off my head with just reading even more books than I already have, and had the telly on constantly for company!!!
And, if we aren't already doing it, then starting to cherish oneself is, I think, vitally important too
This is a lovely post and I so agree I stop often on my woodland walks with dog to look at birds, squirrels etc and the lovely views even on cloudy/rainy days it still looks so special.
Rummer- Anyway I got my first compliment for ages today! I was told that I was glowing and had my sparkle back
what a lovely compliment!!!:)
LL- Help - I've lost my mojo
Can anyone help me find it.
I'm thinking it's the weather - it is so dark and grey and miserable.
Yes its the same here and it does affect your mood when you need the light on indoors for most of the day doesn't it. I think January can be a bit of a down month anyway – it does make it easier for me that DD birthday (yesterday) lifts my spirits.
how much Clutter here is lying around.
Yes same here with that too!!! At least some of it will be gone for you Monday. I'm at atandstill here with my decluttering but will try and get back at it next week!
Shoulder still not right DD had just dance 3 for birthday and had a good laugh having a go with her on it but am paying for it now even though I tried to take it easy. Must find time hopefully tomorrow to visit GP. Had A lovely evening celebrating DD birthday.!!!:)
Am going to make a healthy tea today to compensate for the goodies I ate yesterday. No extra fabbing yet but still walking (with dog(s), always put on a bit of make up before leaving house, and am determined to get back on track ASAP.

Hi everyone! :hello: Hope it's ok to join you!
I read the first post and it struck a chord with me!lessonlearned wrote: »Hello Ladies, Lurkers and Any Curious Newbies
Once again the title says it all - six months to transform ourselves.
A journey from to Frump to Fab - Frugal Style.
So ................
Do you want to be a Summer Sizzler. Yes
Are you currently more Beach Bum than Beach Babe. Yes!
Fed up with looking like a Bag Lady. Definitely.
Okay - fear not - join us on the SSS (Summer Solstice Sizzler) Express and enjoy the ride. Count me in! :j
I am going to make one or two small changes each week in order to lose weight and feel better about myself. I started last Tuesday and lost five pounds by this Monday, so that's a good start! Due to the fact that we had a Dominos pizza on Tuesday this week's weigh in might not be so successful, but me and DH have decided even if we end up eating unhealthily, we will get straight back on the wagon the next day.
We've booked a holiday for June and I definitely need a transformation from beach bum to beach babe!
I'll subscribe to the thread and read back when I can, I can see there are lots of good tips on here!

C is also for Colourant - roots done and looking Light Natural Brown all over, rather than 2 tone brown n grey! Well actually Mid Brown as it always comes out way darker than the box or name suggest. I've tried various brands and they all come out much darker:(
I wish i had known this when i started colouring my hair a few months back. I used 'Darkest Brown' which is my original hair colour without the grey but what i got was black. Hideous! However, as i was colouring over bleached highlights the semi has now penetrated the hair shaft and wont budge so i am having to cut the length and will have to wait till it grows out. However, all is not lost i have started using a plum colour and the hair that has grown since i coloured it dark brown is coming through a lovely shade. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. neither can i! i get horrific headaches if i don't have any. the book says that one or two cups of really good coffee/6 cups of green tea actually ramps up your metabolism and helps prompt fat burning but any more than that and your body gets stressed and releases cortisol which causes fat storage round your middle.0 -

It's probably eloped with mine; I can't get going today, despite two caffeine tablets first thing. I was awake, in agony all night, the pain is right down my arm, and across into my back and chest. Two doses of Oramorph so far today, and am resisting taking any more, at least til I have to take Dilly Dog out this afternoon. Mr LW's on late shift today, too, and reckons there wll be a lot of work this evening (they do the systems maintenance after office hours) so goodness knows what time he'll get home. Luckily this was planned for meal-wise; I made lasagne yesterday, enough for two days. Going to grab another coffee and see if that wakes me up a bit.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello Everyone
Well I'm back and finally feeling human - mind the fact that the sun is shining nicely and I've engaged in a little retail therapy might help. Will tell all in a mo.
But first LW - sorry to hear that you are struggling and in so much pain, hope you feel better soon.
Judi - hair colourants can be really hit and miss can't they, good to see that your are getting there. Really need to do something with my hair soon.
Hi Lilly and a nice big warm welcome.
I love the "CRAP" mantra - it's a nice easy one to remember to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Well ladies as you know one of my New Year resolutions was to shop frugally, locally, ethically and above all avoiding the big 4 supermarkets. Apart from a trip to Asda to buy OH some much needed clothing and a few cheap undies for me (using vouchers of course) I have stuck to it religiously and I am pleased to say that it is paying huge dividends. My money is going a lot further these days.
But this morning I really struck gold. I decided to visit my local YMCA furniture store.
I desperately need some furniture to replace stuff that has been damaged by OH's equipment and careless carers. In particular I needed new sofas and was trawling the internet last night before visiting the likes of DFS at the weekend.
We previously had two 3 seater brown leather sofas. I had to throw one out because of the damage, leaving me only one. Today I found a baby sister for it, a 2 seater - at wait for it £50.:T:T This will keep us going for another couple of years until we do the downstairs rooms reconfiguration. I saved £££'s at least. :rotfl::rotfl:
I also bought a lovely oak sideboard thing with a marble top, £30, a Mexican oak sideboard for £30, a LLoyd Loom lookie-likie chair £3 - not the real thing but you can't really expect it at that price :rotfl: and a cane night stand £5 which I might use in the bathroom for all my Fabbing gear. Or then again I might up cycle some of them and sell them on for a huge profit.:rotfl:
To celebrate I hit the normal charity shops and bought a bright red leather bag for £2 and a lovely aniline tan leather bag for £3.50. Both of them are brand new and an absolute steal.
To think I nearly couldn't be bothered.
I also went to B&M - one of my favourite "cheapo" shops, bought some storage boxes and a couple of "pretties" for when I get round to my cheap and cheerful kitchen revamp. Noticed they do lots of cleaning materials, toiletries and store cupboard items - all much, much cheaper that the big 4. Finally a lot of nice and healthy fruit and veg from the market.
I was so pleased with myself I came home and cleaned the windows.:rotfl:
Right time for some lunch, ironing and then start some decluttering - a Breast Cancer charity bag landed conveniently through the letter box this morning. It's a sign;)
Also in keeping with my "be more adventurous with cooking" dug out some grilling steak from the freezer (whoopsied of course) and am going to braise it with some red wine and finish with some black pepper sauce.
Hope you are all having a Fab day - mine is definitely now tons better than when it started.0
