I can't have two birthdays in less than 3 months!
No, I've been away from home for a few weeks so I've come back to loads of post and xmas pressies from family.

Maybe you can be like the Queen and have two! :rotfl:Sorry hun, there's getting so many of us now I find it hard to keep track sometimes. Nice to have some late pressies though - think we should all plan for that next year to cheer up January0 -
Willow Happy Unbirthday!:rotfl:Lamewolf - I often feel like I don't like myself that much, so why bother, but the act of looking after ourselves through moisturising/facemasking etc perhaps unconsciously tells us we are worth it. So we have to force ourselves to initially focus on self care, but then it will become easier? What do you think, shall we give it a go?
I am up for shower (will use body mitt), moisturising and facemasking tonight, after my exercise DVD.
Not a lot of fabbing thus far today; shoulder is giving me merry hell again;:( however, I am bathed and dressed (Mr LW helped before he went to work, as always):A and I've had a little bit of fresh air, as Dilly Doglet needed to be walked. She's here til next Tuesday morning (17th Jan), so I'll be getting three outings on the mobility buggy each day til then.:o
ETA Just thought - do any of you have really poor eyesight? How do you cope with doing eye make-up? I've tried those specs where you flip one lens up, but they were totally useless, I couldn't get where I wanted to as the specs were still in the way. Tips welcome!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW - Hugs for you xxx No matter what he did you are not tainted
As for poor eyesight I have one of those round shaving mirrors which has a normal mirror the one side and a magnifyiing mirror the other. Would that help?
Fabbing today consists of trying my sample of Lancome primer. Seems to be working OK so far although I do look tired but that's the story of my lifeMy mum did say my skin looked good though so that's something
I have on my perfume and I even put on eye shadow and curled my lashes too. Only downside to this is it takes me longer to get ready.....not always a good thing when I have two small children to wash, chase round and clothe and feed!
I have also decided to make one of my goals to laugh more. So I have decided to make sure at least every couple of days if not every day to find some comedy videos to watch and have a really good belly laugh at. I particularly like Michael Macintyre and I watched (again) Victoria Wood singing the Ballard of Barry and Freda :rotfl::rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Brilliant idea re the mirror:T - I shall put it to Mr LW. He uses a normal wall mirror to shave, but there's no reason we couldn't get a magnifying one to put in the bedroom.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Any suggestions for a nice one for slightly dry sensitive skin which only costs £8 or so? Non pore-clogging and with a bit of UV protection ideally
i use Liz Earle but its about £12 a pop.ETA Just thought - do any of you have really poor eyesight? How do you cope with doing eye make-up? I'm on the lookout for one of those. i can get eyeliner on my right eye but my left I'm just guessing where its going :rotfl:Still working on a renewed make up style, these days I don't wear foundation of any description just eye make up, lipstick and a little blusher in the winter. Some of you ladies use minerals cover, is it possible to just wear this alone? Can I just 'dust' it on and go, like a blusher? Just need to even my skin tone.
Yes LL, some of the celebs these days look very different without the help of cosmetics. I saw a poster of Charlize Theron (sp) advertising J'dore, with all the air brushing she looks nothing like she does on the TV ad, were I think she looks simply stunning.
you can wear it on its own but it needs something to stick to so you'll need to use a moisturiser and primer first to get the best results.
just dusting it on is the worst thing to do. you need to buff it into your face with a big fluffy brush using circular motions and you need to do it for a while. bare minerals say the ideal time is if you sing happy birthday to yourself 3 times.
most celebs look completely different without make up and photoshop! have you seen this? on american glamour Kristen Stewart lost her arm and a pregnant Beyonce miraculously lost weight from even her pre-pregancy thighs on a photo that was taken when she was supposedly pregnant anyway!

did any of you hear about this too? h&m couldn't find the "perfect" woman to model bikinis so they just made one in photoshop and photoshopped other models heads on top!

Carmen - I'm the same, I don't really wear foundation - am lucky to have quite good skin so tend to be quite lazy and will just dab a little concealer on if I happen to get a spot or something. I also find that a lot of foundations, even the powder based ones, make my skin sweat and then I end up looking worse then when I started
Think I must just have odd skin!
LW - *hugs* of course you are not tainted in any way at all hun, can't imagine what you've been through but is definately an individual problem that he had and nothing to do with genetics. Do you have any other family related to him - siblings etc. - surely you don't think less of them because they're related to a horrible person.
I used to have one of the double-sided mirrors with a manifying side, they are really useful (though I usually just stand with my nose about an inch from the bathroom mirror now:rotfl:). In fact it's probably in a cupboard collecting dust somewhere so if I can find it this weekend then someone's welcome to it0 -
alkilay olay do a sensitive beauty fluid with spf15 that's about £5 for a big bottle from wilkos. It's really nice, non-comedogenic though you might want an extra intensive moisturising balm for any really dry patches.
Superdrug also do a good selection on sensitive day and night creams for under £8.
carmen when i'm in a hurry i just dip my kabuki brush in mineral foundation and buff it onto my face whilst making coffee/reading/whatever without even using a mirror. It's really easy to use.
Fabbing today: exercise, moisturised
Fabbing to do: body brush, green smoothie
I'm going to try mixing some of my less used old perfumes with my odd bits of plain moisturiser after my bath tonight. If perfume lasts much longer applied over moisturiser maybe this will be even better?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
I've done 35 mins Zumba. Go me. Now I need to have a lie down :rotfl:
Hmmmm can't seem to shake my hips and @ss quite the same way as they do.......still there was a girl on there who was skinny as a rake (too thin but I digress) and she was an apple shape. Whilst I dont want to be that thinit does give me hope that us apples don't have to look dumpy round the middle. Mind you she didnt look a day over 21 so time is perhaps not on my side........I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
