I have just had the most amazing time at my dance class! As you know I had been so excited about going but when I mentioned it to a few people today they actually laughed. Not sure why but even my family found the thought of me going dancing hilarious.
Anyway now I am feeling that little bit more confident I thought stuff em I am going. Oh I am so glad I did, it was great fun! Yes I was the biggest there and no I do not have any coordination but I had such a good time and it has made me even more determined to lose the weight and become even more fabulous!
:j:j:jwhat sort of dancing? just being nosey as i love dancing

rummer i don't understand why people make fun of those who take up exercise or healthy eating- shouldn't it be a good thing? let's just assume they're just jealous that they don't have the same will power and resolve as you
bitsy from what I can see on your facebook you're already quite chic! glossy hair and your clothes are all well fitting, quite smart and sleek- what more do you want? to morph into coco channel overnight?
save photos off blogs for inspiration? http://www.elleuk.com/style/what-elle-wears is brill!
carmen you don't need a primer, it depends on your skin and what you do during the day. My lily lolo foundation lasts 8-12 hours (i've never tried leaving it on longer) without touch ups depending on what I'm doing and I just apply over moisturiser.
I was just about to order myself some lush new sale undies online when the shipping popped up... £25  No new knickers for me today, and underwear is the only clothing I really let myself splash out on. There are no rules about what's "fashionable" or acceptable so you can get really creative and I love it- it's the only way you'll get me wearing something colourful
At work we're looking back at 2011 and discussing perfume launches. (73 celeb perfumes were launched last year and between us we'd sniffed every single one but bought none!) My fave of the year was Tom Ford's Black Orchid hitting high streets and I'm wearing it right now.
What perfume did everyone wear today?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

I think that early to mid thirties can be a bit difficult time clothes wise, I know I struggled a bit during my thirties, too young for a "classic" look and too old to do teenage/street style. It's quite a balancing act.
I think the secret to "chic" dressing is that it shouldn't look too contrived, it should look natural and easy. I know what you mean about over-dressed, over coiffed French matrons. My mother is Belgian - you should see some of my relatives. They just look "overdone" or as we Brits would say "done up like a dog's dinner". Thankfully Mum has adopted a more "English" relaxed way of dressing.
I think the look should be stylish, individual and comfortable - no not joggy bottoms comfortable:rotfl::rotfl: You shouldn't look as if your clothes are wearing you, you should feel comfortable and relaxed - no constant tugging at hemlines, adjusting straps that kind of thing.
Is there an actress or someone in the public eye who is around your age and who inspires you. Not saying you should copy slavishly but you might get some ideas.

Good for you re the dancing. I think Dancing is Fab, once my back is better that's my plan too.

I too have been thinking about your post today, and wondering how I could help you and what words of comfort. I can only agree with other posters - you are not to blame for what happened to you, you are not a bad person, you are not "tainted" in any way. I don't want to be trite and say put it behind you because it's really not that simple is it. I'm sure there are good days and bad days. Anyway just know that you are among friends here.
Tried to do some jewellery tonight but my hands were just too clumsy, that often happens when my back is bad, must be a trapped nerve or something. Physio tomorrow so hopefully will free things up a bit.
Anyway off to bed soon, g'night all x0 -

I have lots I want to say, but trying to go to bed earlier (yes this is earlier for me!), so will save it for tomorrow. Main thing is that outfit and make up are finally sorted out and I actually feel 'ready' to attend sister's wedding now. I no longer feel bad about not being a bridesmaid as I know it was the right thing to step down, I will be able to enjoy myself without worrying about how I look or that I might have been letting my sister down. Emotional breakthrough!0

Hi Everyone,
Been MIA for the last few days. Just haven't really been feeling up to posting but I am trying to move forward, so Im back again
Well I weighed myself yesterday :eek: I am ashamed to say, I have put on 10 pounds, so in total I am now aiming to loose 20 pounds. I feel so annoyed with myself, as I know exactly how the wight has piled on, and yet I am still sitting here eating a bar a chocolate.
I have managed to persuade my friends to come round to mind for tea today, instead of going to cafe, so that will save me both money and many calories as I usually order a chocolate milkshake.
I have been trying to do a bit of jumping around in my office as I am literally the only one around, and so no one will see me. I would like to join a gym but I know that after 8 hours of work, I just don't have it in me to go to the gym, and then come home and cook dinner.
Fab wise, I put on make up to go to work, but I under all the layers there is a lot of excess hair and dry skin. I will shower this evening and try and do a bit of pampering later.
Well done to all those who have been exercising. :T:T0
