Well done to all of you keeping up with exercise. Don't despair Findingmyway, keep persevering with the weight. I know what you mean about exercising after work I never could do it so i tried going to bed earlier and going before work. Yes I know it sounds like torture but after a few weeks I really got into it. That was over 12 years ago and to be honest it set me up for the day and i felt dreadful if i didn't make it. I've retired now and I'm still getting up early 5 days a week and going for a swim. Must admit I'm getting there about an hour later and where as I used to go in the gym first I have slipped out of that habit. Must reverse that.

Decided to go shopping today and spend my M&S vouchers. I know the sales are nearly over but that usually means if i find something it's cheaper than a couple of weeks ago. I certainly hit the jackpot today as M&S sale prices had been cut again. Managed to buy £280 of clothes for £73.50!!! I made a real effort to choose colours but the best bargain was a black and white print dress, comes just above the knee!!!!!!!, and hubby is quite bowled over by it.

I saw the moon this morning, quite stunning as it was surrounded by moving clouds. One of those moments when I wish I'd got my camera.

I'm keeping up with my skin/body routine but as yet I have not found the courage to venture into cosmetics. I've got very large pores and a fair few wrinkles and whatever i do always looks a mess and i wash it off and go without....not my best friend ...yet.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. RL's been a bit manic. Away for the weekend and playing catch-up ever since.

I've had a quick read through what I've missed.

:grouphug: for you LW, so sad that you've been left with such horrible self-loathing. Obviously you're not loathed on here and your DH sounds a good'un. And most of all you're determined to make yourself feel better!

Love the questions posed by bitsy on style. It's strange when I think about French chic, I think about a timeless classic look. It has things that match, nothing too fussy. I love some of those 'elle' images. That's the sort of look I want. If it's timeless it doesn't really matter what age you are. I just want to avoid ever being described as 'tarty' or 'mutton' etc.

    Back later.

    Fabbing today....

    Showered and scrubbed.
    Creamed and slathered.
Been for a march to the shops.

I have been looking through the bathroom cupboard at the lotions and potions lurking in there and decided to start using some of it up on my legs.....so today I'm modelling Avon's cellu-sculpt. Next up will be the Boots No7 pre holiday balm and aftersun that I've had for ages, I stocked up when it was on BOGOF, reduced in price and there was a No7 voucher offer on.......same old story, got the stuff for 50p a bottle and now I'm storing it, not really sure why.

I can only hope that the cellu-sculpt doesn't work in the same way as the cough medicine I'm gulping down.....all that's done so far is give me a cough.

I'm sure I read either on here on or the toiletries thread a post by Adelight ????? about perfume testing. Did you try any of the Creed ones?

  • Not got any perfume on as yet today ( terrible at 2.30pm) but today not so good, very tired so not got out of bed yet, but will later for shower and will moisturise, do hair, make up and perfume as SW WI at 6pm ( first one) and tonight is when my nearest WI meets at 7.30pm. So really want to get there hence the resting today if it was just SW I might have pushed myself more but for me its going to be a long evening. Not even hungry really, had a banana and that has filled me up so have already done hubby's dinner for tonight but not sure what if anything I will have. Oh gosh just realised the clothes I wore last week for SW which I planned to wear again tonight to keep to same clothes each week need ironed as came out of dryer creased, not sure if I can manage to iron the so might have to wear something else, maybe if I go and do it now can then rest again as I really want a true picture of any weight loss or gain. I totally forgot about them meant to iron them earlier in week, so annoying. Oh well better go and see if I can manage it, got to get ironing board first and have to iron in bedroom as study where it is, is to full just now, either that or hall, will have a go at moving it. Jeepers what a sad person I sound. I stopped gave myself a good talking to and now am going to iron my clothes..........

    Evening all

So many posts!! Can't remember them all!!

Perfume! Just before Christmas I mentioned to a friend that I was looking for a new scent - something that would be me if you know what I mean. She gave me a squirt of her Coco mademoiselle and I fell for it straight away! :jThen I went and checked on buying it, as Christmas was coming I though my DH might like to treat me but then I saw the price!!! I am not a cheap date when it comes to perfume it seemed!!;)

I had reckoned without the MSE knowledge though! I found a thread on here about perfume "smell-a-likes and am now wearing Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour!! Not the most cool and groovy name but it does have the same sort of smell. Doesn't last as long but at lidl prices i can top it up often!:T

Still hoping for the real thing one day though!!

I keep thinking about what being chic means too. Someone mentioned jeans and t-shirts as a non-chic style but I think that a good pair of jeans with a white shirt, gorgeous shoes - high or low - and a funky jacket or little cardie with some joools that make you happy and smile can be one of the chic-est looks going!

It was me. I think half my problem is I am a mum to young kids so I need something practical but I have spent the last 10 years wearing a wardrobe of black trousers for work or jeans and varying colours of v necked t shirts. So i feel a little stuck in a rut although I am trying to embrace leggings :o But given my age I don't want to be dressing matronly but nor can I afford or indeed want to be a slave to fashion.
I want to accessorize better and I know scarves are a way to go but just need to build up a stash of them.
I think I need to be Gok'ed. Or at least have Adelight come be my personal shopping guide when she's back in Brum :)

Fabbing today? Erm I enjoyed the Cadburys chocolate eclairs I ate :o On the plus side I didnt clear my dinner plate. Was sorely temped to but decided to put aside the leftovers for tomorrows lunch :) Will do some Yoga on the Wii when H puts DS to bed.

I've gone a bit food treaty mad today as a treat for handing my assignment in on time and all done and dusted! Never mind I walked a bit longer than usal and went for a very hard run at 180bpm which I could barely keep up with! Still at least an hours run was done then back home for some cheese as a treat with tea and then with Christmas cake.

Apart from exercise - that's quite enough fabbing! I got weighed today and have lost the 2lb I put on after Christmas so back to pre Christmas weight now! Next weight aim is 10st and hoping to get there by the end of the month if I can stay away from the 3/4 eaten continentals and remaining Christmas cake!

Typed this once and lost it! Aaaaggghhh!!

FedUp (have I seen it is Sparkles too?) Soundslike you have earned and worked off your treats!

Bitsy, I know where you are............in a life sense I mean! Not that I'm going to turn up on your doorstep or something! My LO's are now 15 and nearly 13 so I remember the days when they were little well. It seems you get so caught up in the whirl that what you wear seems not to be important.

I found that it was quite easy to suddenly realise that all my t-shirts had got a bit sad and tired and I felt better if I had a sort out and made sure I had something at least clean and neat to wear

I wrote this so much better last time!!!! Grrrr!!
