I got a new yoga DVD which arrived over the weekend, as I'd moved on from the basic DVDs and stuff I had. So I gave it a blast on Sunday and my arms still hurt!!
Don't know if I'll get a chance to get at it tonight, might be Thursday but since it's 1hr long (rather than the 30min stuff I had) and a lot harder I'm aiming for twice a week to start so we'll see.

I don't know how some of you do that Shred stuff, I have bad knees and a bad back and even watching it makes me feel sore!

I have booked in for tap (which was tonight) and ballet. They are two things I love to do and although I have little coordination and 2st excess weight I had a ball :D

I bought the Shred DVD but I have yet to put it on :o tomorrow is the day I start to shred the weight!

Oh I am soooo jealous at the ballet class. I would love to do it again (although NOT wearing a leotard ;)) but no classes by me. Not sure my old blocks will still fit me :rotfl:
I do a tap class too........I love it and it's made me realise just how much my brain has gone to pot. I used to think I was quite good at picking up dances quickly but apparantly not!

    Morning all,

LL - glad you're getting a check up hun, like you said probably just stress but always best to be safe. Hope the evil paperwork is going down :(

Savvy - hope the assignment's going ok, what are you studying again? Just got mine in on Sunday night and the next one is end of the month so not even got time to have a breather between them :(

Sezza - I'm with you on the nail polish, got a new one at weekend, it's a gorgeous colour, like a cadburys purple but started chipping within a day. Have put another coat on last night and chipping again this morning :(

Bitsy - I have a similar problem, have been trying to change my 'style' this past 6-12 months as I was slightly stuck in the teens/20s kind of clothing - I suppose in the 'cute' bracket (sorry LL :o), jeans and logo/character t-shirts or else baggy jumpers. It is a bit hard to find a middle ground between 20s and dressing a bit old for our age. I don't really think I pull of chic so to speak but am liking things like knitted dresses, fitted but more longline jumpers (more flattering) I also quite like slightly bohemian style tops, eg with embroidery detail or pattern. I guess just try things out and see what you like and what suits your body shape. Have also started using accessories a lot more which I think gives outfits more style to them - I'm loving vintage style necklaces and am actually wearing scarves indoors :rotfl:

Rummer - so glad you enjoyed your dance class. I keep thinking I'll start going to one again, I used to love them. A friend of mine does an adult ballet class so maybe I'll ask her about it - or something like zumba or belly dancing (meant to be great for the tummy which is probably my worse area!). Can't understand why people would laugh at someone wanting to try something different though - just very rude

Callisto - so glad you realise you did the right thing by not being a bridesmaid, you can still support your sister but without feeling under pressure - and am sure you will be looking fab doing it :D

Still feeling a little unmotivated I must admit, which makes me feel a little bad coming on here when everyone seems so focused :o Had to force myself to have a quick shower last night to sort out my hair and redid my nails after they were chipping but that's about it. Tea was unhealthy and still not started back on the shred - just couldn't face it last night. I really do find it torture but it works so well for me :( Back at choir tonight but we have been given a date for our next concert which is in April and now she's panicking we won't be ready so is wanting us all to come in early every week until then. Am a little annoyed as she's the one who picked the date so why choose it if she doesn't think we'll be sorted by then - means I have to go straight from work every week. Anyway, hope everyone has a good day x

i've followed your blog! whats the body shop hand cream like?

It's really really thick and doesn't absorb very quickly so you leave a slimy mark on everything you touch for a while afterwards but it does make your hands really soft. The gloves make it easier for me coz the cream can just absorb into my skin and I don't get anything slimy. :)

Wouldn't say it was worth £10 a tube though, more like £5 so wait til it goes on sale for half price and stock up then.

£10?! the liz earle one is only £7.50 lol. I've still got a mini liz earle one and a half used clarins one to get used up first but I'm not rebuying clarins, its far to expensive for *just* hand cream.

i used to have some cotton gloves, no idea where they are now though! i think i left them at my parents somewhere :S

Did you know that the sun has now returned to the northern hemisphere, on Sunday the 8th to be exact. Yesterday you would never have guessed it but today it's lovely. From, now on the days will steadily get a bit longer each day, just as we will get a bit fabbier each day.:)

Have been to physio and am feeling much looser, sitting up nice and straight as I "speak". I have been out in the garden and done a little bit of pruning and in a moment shall walk to the post box and post some letters, just to grab a bit more of that lovely Vit D, and then off to visit OH.

Did you see the moon last night, it was gorgeous, so ladies your task for today is try and grab a peek at it tonight, it should still be pretty impressive.

Anyway ladies have a lovely day.

Ooops - just realised I missed a "hip" of today's title.

What perfume did everyone wear today?
Ummm..... Superdrug talc and Boots roll-on deodorant, and that's it, I'm afraid. In mitigation, I'm not sleeping still (shoulder still murderously painful) and also I have Dilly Doglet to see to; she'll be going home next Tuesday, though.

My thanks to all who have given me encouragement; it's good to know there are such nice, caring people out there.:o

Thinking about clothing style - I don't think I fit into any proper category; my standard form of dress is a full-length skirt (velvety material in winter, something thinner in the warmer weather) with a top; I have some tops with wolves on, others that are very "new age" iyswim; indeed, the one I'm wearing today has big dangly sleeves, and I have to wear elastic sleeve-protectors to do my housework.:D I don't wear shoes unless I absolutely have to (my feet don't like footwear), and I can't wear stockings/tights at all, so I wear leg-warmers to go outside (can't see them under the skirt, so it doesn't matter what colour they are):D and I wear shawls a lot for warmth - easier than cardis or jumpers to put on and take off when I'm here on my own.;) A lot of my clothes are donkeys' years old, probably because, to me, clothes shopping is cruel and unusual punishment.:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

dreaded SW WI too, hoping i've done well.

will definitely not be moving far today, DOMS from the run yesterday has well and truly kicked in!

Oh, and I thought of another C!
Cuddles! - good for the soul and mental health. If, like me, you don't have an OH to cuddle with the dog does a good snuggle and slobber! Just being next to another living breathing thing helps sometimes.

Thanks for that WW - definitely agree with this one. A cuddle a day keeps the blues away or at least makes them easier to bear.

Did you know that stroking a pet helps lower your blood pressure.

    Cheerfulness

I think it's important to always try and be cheerful - both in ones self and also to try and bring cheer to others.

I'm sorry can't remember who said it - got a brain like a sieve at the moment - but one of you lovely ladies mentioned that you were going to try and laugh more and that you were going to watch some funny DVD.s I think you mentioned Michael McIntyre - I love him and John Bishop - two of my favourite funny men.

I think that is a great idea and it's something I often do. Whenever I'm feeling a little blue I do exactly this. I watch a favourite film or TV show - a light hearted comedy. It works a treat.

The comedienne Sarah Millicant said something very apt recently.

She said "instead of waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel, race to the end of that tunnel and switch the "F*****" on. Food for thought there.

    Courage

Life isn't always easy. Sometimes it can give us the most shocking blows - sometimes you just have to screw up every last ounce of courage you can find to face your demons. Sometimes you just have to dig deep, to find the courage, to just bite the bullet and be brave. Sometimes you can amaze yourself because afterwards you find yourself grinning thinking "I did it".

For me it's surgery because a GA makes me so ill. Luckily my ops have always been relatively minor - usually gynae - its just the anaesthetic that finishes me off. I just steel myself saying - 24 hours and it'll be over. Mind you, I'm not too keen on visiting the dentist either:rotfl:

Some more C's tomorrow. Please feel free to "chip" in.
