Frump to Fab - Summer Solstice Sizzler

Just sneaking in to have a quick read while on coffee break from assignment.
Adelight - Thanks for the food information you sent me, some very good ideas there. I will write a meal plan and shopping list tomorrow and I am actually looking forward to eating properly again.
Adelight and Evilsquid - Great idea about getting my make up done at a counter, however it won't be do-able as the venue is 50 miles from home, so won't know where the shops are. I've already said I'll go and get ready with my sister in her room along with the bridesmaids, plus the wedding starts at midday, so the guests will need to be assembled before then. I will have to practice doing my own make up, I want to keep it quite toned down anyway, so hopefully any mistakes won't be too noticeable. Our hairdresser will be there (she is also a guest), so I will let her style my hair, going to see what style she suggests when I get my hair trimmed.
Welshwoofer - Thank you for the Ebay suggestion, I will order a pashmina from there this evening.I have already ordered a purple shrug (hoping it will match the shoes) from the online Monsoon sale.
Lamewolf - I often feel like I don't like myself that much, so why bother, but the act of looking after ourselves through moisturising/facemasking etc perhaps unconsciously tells us we are worth it. So we have to force ourselves to initially focus on self care, but then it will become easier? What do you think, shall we give it a go?I am up for shower (will use body mitt), moisturising and facemasking tonight, after my exercise DVD.

i did my own make up for my wedding. i had lessons with bobbi brown, bare minerals and mac before hand and they all gave me sheets with the looks they did written down so i'd know what to do at home. they were 3 completely different looks so i got to to compare really natural, made up but still natural colours and mac did a really big purple smokey eye.
i ended up picking the best bits from all 3 looks and making my own look and i just sat down and practised at home with the help of bobbi brown's books and lisa eldridge's site.0 -
I have added my journey on frumpy to fabby on my blog. I loathe having my photo taken but if and when I lose any weight I will put before and after pics on to help anyone else if they feel they cannot do it, but at moment have put photo of treadmill on, but me not on it.
So far today done 0.45km so still a bit to go. Yesterday after my nice pampering bath I forgot to put any cream on, just did my usual of putting towelling robe on and weight to dry, so nil points. Not had my shower yet today ( I have washed honestly) so will smother myself in cream after it. Back of hands are a lot softer already after just 5 days of cream on them. I know I have lots of handcream somewhere but of course cannot find it so face and hands are just having nivea on them daily ( the face one). Luckily the bottles and bottles of body lotion are in bathroom where they gather talc rather than dust - hubby likes talc and liberally uses it daily, did manage to at least step in bath to use it so floor not covered but it still ends up everywhere and trying to wipe top of shower head is not easy, have to have him take ladder upstairs as shower is over bath but is fixed with a big dinner plate size head, which I love and why I bought it, just as well I am not on a water meter the amount of water that comes out of it, but oh so soothing for the body pain I have 24/7. I was told by water company as only two of us would be cheaper having a meter fitted but with my shower and veg growing ( on odd occasions these days when it doesn't rain) I would rather stick to old way as I secretly feel it is cheaper. I did once clear the bathroom of all the potions and lotions but it looked so bare and of course couldn't find anything and left me less space for my stocks, but its a pain to clean as everything ends up white and looks as if its thick dust and its talc. If I leave it longer than a week you would swear nothing has been touched in there in months talc is so thick.
Not got round to searching web for how to do things to my long hair.
Oh hubby informed me when he came back from his bowls yesterday ( short mat not ten pin) that his countrys annual meal is on the 21st and this year partners are welcome, so he knew I would enjoy a chance to get out of my 'gilded cage' but now am panicking on getting something to wear, maybe getting to hairdresser ( not been for years I keep ends tidy myself by taking about an inch off every 6 weeks or so) and if I can look decent - small and fat does not equal glamourous. Used to be ok as was slim so could look passable but on the odd occasions over past 5 years when they have seen me I am barely passable and fat. Why I am worried is most of his team mates wives who do not play are all ones with money and always look good.
Mind you this is giving me something else to keep me eating healthily ( I refuse to say diet ) and on bottom I am between a 16 - 18 ( 16 can go on but a bit tight but can slip on an 18 without undoing buttons) but top is most definitely an 18 and has been big since had youngest ( before him I was always a 34b but after I finished breast feeding him at a year old unlike the others I stayed at 38c, now of course bigger and I loathe big boobs, it doesn't help I am low busted as well as that makes me look even fatter - the up side has always been when was slimmer I could wear low cut tops or dresses and still not show anything which suited me. So am hoping maybe I can lose enough to drop down to a 16 all over and buy a dress that size ( still will not be slim but I will feel better knowing its a 16 rather than 18). If top stays the same I will I think go for trousers and top and so buy trousers in 16.
My sisters have always told me off for wearing trousers as my ankles are the only thing they are jealous of I have the shaped ankles and they have the straight one, they say I should always dress to show them off.
Oh well off for a bit more on treadmillNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

There seem to be people coming over for revision sessions everyday and I don't wanna get caught by half a dozen people from uni washing up wearing hot pants and a fleece with greasy hair again  I've put on some mascara and perfume and am wearing okay-ish lounge clothes.
No, probably not a good look.:rotfl:
Just a quckie - just taking a break from feeding the tumble dryer, putting the shopping away, trying to tidy up and cook dinner, also need to tackle some SS stuff ready for OH's care manager coming tomorrow morning.
So as you can see I shouldn't be on here at all. :rotfl:
Procrastinating - moi???
Hi Carmen - great to have you back Twinnie - was wondering where you had disappeared to.
Fabbing Today - consists mainly of lots of slathering and hopefully a manicure tonight whilst watching Sherlock.
One good bit of fabbing today - bought myself a couple of bras and a stack of new knickers. Nothing fancy - just basic everyday stuff from ASDA. I don't want to pay a lot and invest in really lovely lingerie until I reach my target weight.
Hopefully today's haul will just be a stop gap until I've lost that 1 stone, then another batch of cheapies whilst I lose the 2nd stone and then take it from there.
2st is rather a high target for the Summer Solstice so have set myself a goal of 1.1/2 stones. That's just under 1lb per week so in theory it should be easily do-able.
Please kick me up the proverbial as and when I fall off the wagon:rotfl:
Hope you are all having a good weekend.0 -
Callisto - Have you looked into getting your make up done by a mobile make up artist for your big day? I had one for mine and she was fantastic. She did a trial run and then the make up on the big day. Worth every penny as she made me look fantastic
prepareathome - Are you an apple shape? If so dont hide those pins, get those shapely legs out. And invest in a good bra, can make you look tons slimmer if you have those bangers (thanks Gok) well hoisted
Can I have a harumph at all these lovely mascara give aways. Why can't it be Max FactorThey're the only company I can find that actually do a black/brown rather than just black mascara. Black is just too harsh for me......

I have a blog (see user profile) but my face is not going anywhere near it :rotfl:
Adelight thank you again for all the great healthy eating info! I also got the Slimming World booklet in the Mirror today to give me some more healthy eating ideas. Think I will take a heap of the xmas sweets I was given into work so others can enjoy them.
Today I slapped on some makeup and a pretty dress before I went out and I really did feel better! We went into the city centre and power walked from shop to shop and on my travels I got Jennifer Ellisons West End Workout DVD for Poundland, what a bargain! They also had a few others as well, worth investing a £1 in.
Tomorrow I start my dance classes and I am so excited :jTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hello all
Why is it that whenever I cook a roast dinner it's like I give myself permission to eat? Full roast followed by pudding and now I'm hoovering up the left-overs...It's like all my self control has gone. Shameful. I will never lose weight . Now I've confessed I'm going to wash up, iron and then fab up with a facepack and manicure. (And stay out of the kitchen.)
Tomorrow is another day. Take care all

Well today I fabbed by almost completing my assignment - its written and just needs tidying up and so on this evening
My legs were aching after this mornings quicker run and when I took the dog out for his walk I could feel the aches so I came back and had a bath with my relaxing lavender bath salts to ease the muscles. Also did a quick cleanse, exfoliate and face mask while I made myself lay in the bath for 20mins. Skin looks rather nice this evening too as a result. Plenty of oil and moisturiser slathered on and nail oil applied plenty of times today
What else - made a SW recipe to use up a lamb shank out of the freezer - not too bad really and the used up plenty of veg to get the 5 a day in!
Trying hard to stay away from the Continentals - had 2 today and trying hard not to have any more today!
Happy fabbing everyone and I'll pop back on tomorrow xfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Is it a case of you can't bear to throw it away? Don't like waste? Thats generally why I end up hoovering up any leftovers as I hate chucking it in the bin. Bit stupid really as I am basically treating myself as a bin. Perhaps next time before you can think too much pour washion up liquid over the leftovers thereby ensuring you can't eat itI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bathtime Bliss
Bathing isn't just about getting clean, it's also about TLC, and pampering. It also helps with aches and pains too, so whilst a quick shower is sometimes all we have time for, it's nice to make time for a nice warm relaxing bath from time to time.
Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is often called the "Silent Killer". Often you don't know you have it until it's too late. If you are more than a couple of stones overweight it is imperative that you get it checked regularly.
Time to move on to the "C's0
