Been a tough day so I have let my fabulousness slip :(

However I am going to have a relaxing bath later, do my skincare regime and start afresh tomorrow :D

Just seen an advert on the telly for tomorrow's Sunday Mirror with a free Slimming World pull out guide - may be useful for new starters?

Would be interesting to see how long we have to run (or row, or swim) for to burn off certain foods. !

I came across a couple of sites with a bit of info on this:-

    http://www.dietandfitnessresources.co.uk/fitness_exercise/activities-to-burn-calories.htm

    and

    http://www.ivillage.co.uk/the-calorie-pay/77527

    Hope that's of some help.

    Evening fellow fabbers

I've had a poor week fabbing wise, slipping back into my slovenly ways and not cleansing/moisturising properly. I had been throwing some slap on for work and by the end of the week noticed my face was very dry and my foundation was looking dreadful. I'm blaming work, but really I've just been a idle mare :rotfl:

Anyway, I stopped the rot this morning and had a thorough cleanse/moisturise and my skin feels so much better. Had a brisk walk this afternoon just over 2 miles and felt quite invigorated afterwards.

Highlight of today came in Aldi, when this man came up to me as I was packing my shopping and I thought he was going to ask for directions or something. No, he said he thought I was "whoaaaaaaa" I took this as a compliment, although I think he was rather drunk. He then leered at me through the window and gave me a huge wink  My DD was hysterical at all of this.

Enough of my witterings, has anyone else noticed a connection between this thread and the challenge to not buy any more toiletries. I feel as though I have all the necessary products to keep myself looking good, just not the dedication to use them, it's easier to go and buy another miracle cream and then wonder why it doesn't work when I only use it for 1 week.
So, I'm hoping that by trying to get myself from frump to fab, I will also use up those lotions and potions that are cluttering up my life and bathroom cabinet.

i'm on there too! I've spent too long on just make up and buying things and not looking after the rest of me or using them up.

Sparkles - Well done, hope you are so proud of yourself for your achievement.

Prepareathome - I am impressed with your determination. Don't worry at all about how long it took to walk the distance, you completed your target and your fitness and speed will improve.

Hello Prudent and Elle, welcome :)

I bought my shoes yesterday to go with the dress I am wearing for the wedding, picture here (the purple ones.) Just hope they will be comfortable enough for the whole day as I hardly ever wear heels - will wear them for a little bit each day to try and get used to them before next weekend. I also got a pretty grey glass necklace and bracelet set half price from Past Times and a couple of different hairslides (one feather and one flower) as I couldn't decide which I preferred. I will definitely wear the flower one again as it can also be worn as a brooch.

Haven't managed to get a pashmina or shrug, despite being in the shopping centre for five and a half hours , although we did get Mum her mother of the bride outfit from Jacques Vert, less than half price for co-ordinating dress, bag, shoes and fascinator, and she looks so lovely. :) I am going to order a pashmina and a shrug over the internet (in case one is not suitable colour or style wise - I am in panic buy mode now!) I have seen a shrug I like that should be delivered on time, so will order it tomorrow.

Some time this week I need to get my hair trimmed, decide what colour nail varnish I am wearing and see what make up I need to buy and go and get it. I can't even remember the last time I wore make up (other than lip balm or gloss), so I need to go through my make up bag and throw most of it away!

I didn't get the job, the manager called yesterday and said he had given the job to someone with more relevant experience. Never mind, onwards and upwards!

Tomorrow I need to be getting on with my assignment, but will also find time for some exercise and will definitely use the face mask that is still sitting there patiently waiting!

    !

I second that. Well done both of you.

Callisto = Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job - better luck next time.

Re using up toiletries etc. If you buy a moisturiser for your face and it doesn't suit - just use it up on elbows and knees. That way it's not entirely wasted.

Also any suncreams etc lose their effectiveness within 12 months. Use them up as a body lotion.

Ideally mascara should be thrown away after three months to minimise the risk of eye infections.

Most creams, potions etc are best kept in the dark, definitely don't leave them in direct sunlight. They will quickly go off.

Anyway back from "date night" with OH. Time with him is certainly bittersweet now. I'm missing him dreadfully and I still feel terribly guilty at times. I know it's for the best but it still doesn't "feel" right - I wished I could do more for him. I watched him tonight whilst we watched our DVD - his breathing is very ragged and he looked so tired and frail .....

Oh well - nothing to be done.

Just to let you know - The Daily Mail are publishing some WW recipes concocted by famous chefs. They are free each day but you have to buy the DM at either Tesco or WH Smith to get them.

    Time for bed now.

    G'night all X
