    Morning all,

Sezza - of course foam shrimps and bananas count :rotfl:You've actually reminded me that I still have some of those orange and lemon sweetie slices - do you think they count as one of my 5 a day?

evilsquid - well done on rejoining the gym :T Try not to worry about the shorts, am sure you will dropping a size in no time!

Joan - I don't go to a hairdresser either at the moment. Struggling to find one I like up here and get annoyed if I'm paying out for something I end up not liking. I do have a very simple haircut so usually just trim it myself. Is annoying me a little at the moment though as I cut it a little shorter round the front to look a bit layered and last time I got a little carried away and did it waaaay too short - I thought, well it will be ok, my hair grows really fast so will grow out soon. This is now the slowest my hair has ever grown in my life :o

Maman - yay on the weight loss, 1lb off over xmas/new year is great! Hope your weekend is fun :)

Callisto - the dress is lovely, fingers crossed for the job!

Mrs W - outfit sounds fab, and am impressed with your efforts last night (lol making me feel a wee bit lazy now)

Anyway last night was not very productive, was really tired all day - didn't sleep well Wed night and am struggling a little to get my sleep pattern back to normal - so ended up dozing off for a few hours, getting nothing done and then struggling to sleep again when I did go to bed :o Am just relieved it's short week back and is Friday today! Ended up oversleeping a little this morning so not amazingly fab for Fashion Friday but wearing my tunic top from Wed night, which I hadn't worn before then so kind of new, over a purple jumper and with a red/pink scarf. Weather bit better today so at least didn't get drenched on the way to work :)
Hope everyone has a good day x

I am struggling to stop snacking on treats! I'm keeping a food diary and its obvious that the problem is leftover xmas chocs. I can't throw them out as everyone else will eat them but any little tricks to keep myself in check or any suggestions for ealthier more filling snacks I can have (barring fresh fruit as I hate it with a passion, I know it's terrible but I just can't stomach it)? I do need to eat between my meals as I get really hungry but I'm a little bit stumped as to what to have. Any help please?

I put all the leftover chocs into a box and put it at the back of the pantry with a lid on and told OH where it was! If it is out of sight I find I don't automatically home in on it! My worst time for snacking is evenings, I try and keep some cupasoups and low calorie hot chocolate in, so if I am hungry when I should be thinking about going to bed I have one of these instead. Do you like houmous? I love that as a snack or part of a meal with peppers, carrot and cucumber cut up to dip into it. Houmous is quite high in fat, but there are reduced fat varieties and I intend to have a go at making it soon. Also things like oatcakes or a handful of mixed nuts?

Anyway, off to the shopping centre again, let's hope the shopping pixies will help me out and I can get everything I need. Have a good day ladies. :)

What about low fat yoghurts, crackers with a bit of something on, cereal. When I used to get quite bad chocolate cravings I would have the Options hot chocolates, only about 20 cals but give you the chocolate fix :) Also I'm not a big fruit fan either but something I do like (especially in cold weather) is to cut up an apple into pieces (can peel it as well if you'd rather) put in a bowl with a little water in the bottom, sprinkle cinnamon on top and then put in the microwave for a few mins. Tastes like apple pie filling :D
Also, maybe consider that if you're hungry all the time between meals are you eating enough at them? Not saying this is you by any means but a friend of mine will go on about her small portion, low fat, low cal meals and how great they are but then will be constantly starving all the time, end up binging on snacks and then wonder why she's not losing weight when her meals are so good. :(

Thanks for all the replies folks
The less I eat (of treats) the easier it is getting. Reading back through my food diaries I am eating less chocolate as the week goes on! My cravings are reducing. I think I will get some oat cakes/crackers, low fat hummus & maybe some low fat cheese spread & try that. Also cup a soups. I have some dried fruit, cereal bars & I'm gonna to make some banana muffins over the weekend.

And yes I've increased the size of my breakfasts & lunches so I need to snack less. This year I really want to be healthy and lose weight slowly instead of trying to starve myself :D

    Thanks again!

Re: fashion friday - I'm wearing a new black jumper dress, black, shiny leather look leggings, black uggs, a sparkly necklace & red scarf. A bit black but I think I look quite nice & am dressed in quite practical clothes for housework and running after kids!!

    Fabbing done:

    1. Cleansed, toned, moisturised skin
    2. Cuticle oil and handcream
    3. Made a big fruit salad to munch on through the day
    4. Lashings of cocoa butter on my feet.

    Fabbing to do:

    1. Shower, body lotion
    2. Drink plenty of water (even now more essential as I have a cold)
    3. Cleanse, tone, nightcream
    4. Arm/abs workout

I had my facial yesterday as it was so relaxing and my skin looks so much better (have booked to have eyebrows shaped and tinted and eyelashes tinted in four weeks) also I had a £10 Boots voucher so bought some soap and glory cleanser with it and got given a No7 £5 voucher:j

LW Woo Hoo! Moisturiser barrier broken!:T  Honestly though, I can only imagine how hard it must be to get used to, I know my troubles are insignificant in comparision and not really the same thing, but I found that I felt much better about a lot of things once I felt more in control for me that was realising that I could just accept all the meds and let everyone else tell me what to do, or go out and research how I can help myself- granted things are very different for you but perhaps there are things/methods out there that would make life easier? You may know it already but there is a fantastic website : http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/

it really helped me when I first got ill (2 yrs before the bp and diabetes I had severe kidney problems leading to 2 yrs of problems and things they couldn't diagnose, septecemia, auto-immune symptoms etc) like I said, you might know it already but if not there is an incredible amout of advice. help and support...
Thanks, yes that's a great site, isn't it? I found the Spoon Theory very useful for getting it across to people how I can be reasonably OK one minute and like "I have to lie down right now" the next. I used to visit a lupus support site, but they weren't very tolerant of anyone who wasn't a Christian, unfortunately.:( I think it was US-based, not that it should make a difference. Someone was really hurting one time, and I offered a wee ritual for tying the hurt up in a suitably coloured ribbon or bit of wool and locking it away, so it couldn't hurt them any more, and I got well and truly flamed for offering "witchcraft" so I left.
LW I don't know what the roller derma thingy is but Shred is this and its piggin hard work but quick.
Ah, not for me, then; I'm not physically able to do the stuff shown there.

dermarolling is akin to torture... it's a cylinder covered in 100s of tiny needles that you roll over your skin to reduce wrinkles, scarring etc. it's best used with seriously potent creams as the pin pricks allow the ingredients to penetrate the skin further. apparently it encourages the skin to produce collagen, breaks down scar tissue and thickens skin. most people need a topical anaesthetic with it. despite all this madness, i'm very keen to try it :D
_pale_ I think I'll pass on that one - I'm totally phobic about anything penetrating the skin - I go wobbly if I get a splinter in my finger!

Callisto fingers crossed for the job - now, have you used that moisturiser sachet yet?:D

I've fished out another of my "stash" of sachets - I'll use it after I've had my piece of carrot'n'orange cake (part of my lunch), as I don't think the moisturiser would make the cake taste good.:D

I can't do this stuff first thing, as we have to hustle Mr LW out of the door by 07:30; have yet to work out a "best" timne of day, or even a routine:eek: I guess it will depend if I'm very tired in the morning.:o

Tomorrow's a bit scary - I have to go into town for my 6-monthly visit to the audiologist (I use a hearing aid) so will need to put on proper war-paint. Mr LW will, of course, be with me, but I always find town a tad frightening. Hope it's not crowded!:o

Once we get home, I have a canine guest coming for a 10-day stay. Little Westie, name of Dilly. She's stayed several times before, so I know what to expect with her.:) Poor little love, she's 13 and has a bit of a leaky bladder - shame they don't do TenaLady for dogs!:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

i got that reaction from my high school a few times. they made us go to a religious assembly once a week and despite me telling them i was pagan and there were other pagan girls in the school and as i was the oldest out of the broom closet i'd run it for them they insisted i had to go to "humanist" and the younger girls who didn't have a humanist had to go to christian.

i also wrote an article for the school paper on my witchcraft near halloween and it was so heavily edited. they got rid of all my stuff about real witches not touching ouija boards because we prefer to leave the dead alone until they want us and they toned down my "yes we can do bad magic, how can you understand the good if you also don't understand the bad?" part. i ended up sounding like a right wishy washy hippy :rotfl:

    good luck in town tomorrow!

I'm an atheist and I follow no religion. The idea of LaVeyan Satanism intrigues me though, it's mainly about worshipping yourself really. And no, it's nothing to do with devil worshipping! :p

For fab Friday I'm wearing a purple cardigan thatI haven't worn for ages, it's a lovely rich kind of purple :)
