  • Hope everyone is having a good day. Lizzie sorry to hear about your dog, they are such a big part of our lives that it's worrying when something is wrong.

Well I have weighed myself and it was worse than I thought  Anyway now I know what I need to do. I would like to lose 18 lbs, and am hoping to do it by the summer solstice which should give me time to do it at a steady rate. I am going to follow WW, the old version, as I have lost weight following it before. I'm not going to a class so I'm counting on you ladies to help keep me on the straight and narrow! ;) I'm thinking of putting some sort of reward system in place, maybe putting some money in a tin each week if I've lost weight and if I do my planned exercise.

Interesting posts about confidence, it's the old 'fake it 'til you make it' thing.

Been working on my environment today :D. Got he kitchen tidy and the bathroom scrubbed from top to bottom. Just going to finish off the bedroom. I figured that a clean and happy environment will encourage me to pamper myself more!

    Good evening everyone.

Not much fabbing going on here atm due to knuckling down with the assignment as the deadline looms ever closer.

Could I ask for some advice please? I'm sure one of us will have a useful answer!

My nails have started peeling very badly. they have never looked like this or done this before. I don't know why they are in this state and they look like I've had gel nails removed. Any advice to how to make them go back to normal healthy strong nails again?

Thanks ladies - much appreciated x

LW I don't know what the roller derma thingy is but Shred is this and its piggin hard work but quick.

I am lurking, doing a little bit of fabbing, struggling with the mindful eating, craving that festive food :o:o not done my Zumba again, have felt a general malaise lately, probably a touch of the post holiday blues, kids not sleeping great and have come to the conclusion that lie ins don't really suit me. How gutting :rotfl:

    Hi all,

LL - I definately need my money to start breeding :rotfl:

Lizzie - hope your dog's ok, it is a worry thinking what's best to do for them.

Findingmyway - your post did get me thinking. When I started on frump to fab I really hated the way I looked. I mean I would avoid mirrors, think nothing ever suited me and could give a list about 10 pages long of things 'wrong' with me. Now, although I'm well I'm never really going to be a stunner or anything and I still have times when I think I look a mess, I realised that I don't have that almost loathing when I look in the mirror now and hopefully it will get better still. It's just feeling more comfortable with and making more of what you do have I guess. Anyway, didn't happen overnight so give it time and am sure it will come.

Mrs W - at the moment during the day I'm tending to wear coloured eyeliner underneath my eyes and then add some in the outer corner of the upper lid and smudge across. Just gives bit of colour without being too heavy. And then will do a more made up look if am going somewhere nice.

WW - yay on the compliments, nice to see people are noticing a difference already :T

Bitsy - I've been a bit the same lately, I think it is post-holiday/new year blues. Must admit though I would sleep in most days if I could get away with it :rotfl:

Anyway, been an ok day - big accident near my work and the road was closed and buses diverted so had to walk the last stretch in the rain/gale force winds. I wonder why I bother doing my hair sometimes :rotfl:Calmer out now though, think we even had a bit of blue sky this afternoon (I spied out of my office window at least :() Popped in the charity shop on the way home and picked up a top - is black with like a patchwork style flower design on it. Bit light for this weather but can always wear with a cardi or over a jumper. Meant to be going to my film group tonight but tbh feeling tired and can't really be bothered so think will probably stay in where it's toastie and try and get some writing done.

bitsy i was wondering where you were. christmas will be well in the past soon and it'll be back to nromal life. are your kids back at school yet?

dermarolling is akin to torture... it's a cylinder covered in 100s of tiny needles that you roll over your skin to reduce wrinkles, scarring etc. it's best used with seriously potent creams as the pin pricks allow the ingredients to penetrate the skin further. apparently it encourages the skin to produce collagen, breaks down scar tissue and thickens skin. most people need a topical anaesthetic with it. despite all this madness, i'm very keen to try it :D

    Evening all

Had a good day today. Found a top in the wardrobe I'd forgotten I had, ate quite healthily - lots of seafood and fruit (foam shrimps and banans count don't they? I found some I'd bought for my hubby for Christmas but forgot!;)) and used some of the stash I have to make some cards. Not fabbing for me maybe but made me happy!:)

LL, Intersting to hear about using bicarb as an exfoliant. I use the boots hot cloth cleanser which is lovely but very smooth and sometimes i want something "bitty" if you know what I mean

LW, digging out the moisturiser sounds like a good little step to take. They all help don't they!

Rummer (I think, still trying to "get to know" everyone!) Good to hear you are feeling more positive

Need to get on and fire up the iron to sort out a fab outfit for tomorrow but need a kick up the beeeeehind to get me going!:rotfl:

I also want to have a shower tonight as it is too cold and dark to do it in the morning especially if we end up having breakfast by candlelight as we did this morning!:)
