adelight I've been running, I'm still not very good but I was hopeless in school so just being able to run and not end up in a wheezing heap on the floor is progress to me :rotfl:

Happy Birthday to Lamewolf and Callisto!

I'm still in Paris until tomorrow night, having an early night, I've done so much walking my feet are shot to pieces! Went to see the mona Lisa today and the catacombs. The louvre isn't a patch on the British museum and the catacombs are nothing like I expected. I thought they were like all these crazy tunnels filled with bones in crazy patterns all over Paris and it's just a 2km stretch with piles of bones in one bit and old tunnels from disused quarries for the rest of it. Ah well. There's loads of police on the streets, think its prob to do with the election. Compared to what we have, we haven't seen a thing all day regarding it until now!

Well I will have to learn how to use straighteners for my hair. Had a shower and washed it at BF's yesterday. The hair was then a bit more wild! But still looks better then it did before I had it cut on Thursday.
I have been reading a book, Feel the Fear....and do it anyway, by Susan Jeffers(I think).
Well I was rather dubious, but it was sent to me in the post by an MSE follower of mine. So I cracked on and read it. It sort of gripped me and I didnt do much else last sunday but read it.
Now that I have gone from cover to cover, I already feel different, more positive, and calm. But now I am going to go back to the beginning of the book, and start to do the exercises etc that were in it. I think it will actually be worth it. Then maybe my stress levels will be reduced, and I will benefit from that. A few less wrinkles in the future maybe. I will let you know the outcome.
Now where are my hair straightners?
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

LL I want to rush round to yours and fix you  I wish it were possible, life would be so much much easier for us all if we could just fix each other, like you would a washing machine or whatever :D

I woke up with a cold yesterday and felt a bit grotty, but today I feel fine, just a bit sniffly. Strange.

I'm struggling with yoga so instead of doing half an hour, I'm doing 3 x 10 mins per day. I think I'm actually making more progress this way.

I'm planning my food today. Another list - I love lists :D For the past few months I've grabbed whatever's nearest when I've felt hungry but I really need to sort it out now.

  • Hi folks. Been AWOL for a while - just soooo busy studying for my Remedial and Sports massage course. Finished it yesterday, and passed with flying colours, thank God.

Have kept up with the basics of keeping my skin nice but sericously need a hair cut/colour, to have a leg wax and to get back to losing some weight. Now at around 15 stone 10 pounds!! All that comfort eating and very little exercise when studying adds up!

LL, really sorry to hear about your aches and pains. I hope you feel better soon.

    Morning everyone.
Feeling less than fab this morning, headache brewing due to late night out Saturday night and kids waking me last night. Coffee and painkillers for me next.
Yoga fallen by the wayside over Easter hols, plus I am up and walking the pooch at 6.30am so now kids have gone back to school today I need to structure my days better. Sounds a bit anally retentive but I think its what I need to do. Went to see Cirque Du Soleil last night, was fabulous but boy what I would give to as flexible as the contortionists  i think Tru's plan of 3 times a day is perhaps more workable :)

Skincare routine not going well, everything gone a bit slack really over Easter and I haven't done my Zumba for weeks :o time to sit down and work out a plan as leaving it all til the evening is a no go as kids bedtime, reading, cooking tea and generally tidying up all get in the way. Not mention by that time I am knackered :rotfl:

Anyway that was a load of waffle sorry :o

Evilsquid I remember beng really excited to see the Mona Lisa and then actually seeing it and how small it was.....disappointment of the year :rotfl: plus there were signs saying no flash photography and a scrum of visitors doing exactly that whilst a guard stood by and did nothing :rotfl: have a wonderful time :)

Mooloo my H had a copy of that book, it helped him a great deal. I wonder if he's still got it somewhere, maybe I ought to have a read too. Glad it's had such a positive effect :)

LL hope you're feeling OK today xxx

Allie welcome back and well done on passing your course :T

Hugs and spoons for everyone xxx

weslhwoofer ask her to help you prepare for next year :) or maybe just a half marathon to start with. Nell McAndrew had an amazing time yet again, it really seems to be her "thing" she's incredible!
hope lamewolf & callisto had good birthdays
ll hope you feel better today
evilsquid i thought someone said you played some sport for england, guessing it wasn't running!

Morning everyone, hope all are well and happy St George's day!
Stress and worrying about home is finally getting to me, I was wobbly all weekend and me and OH cancelled our last few house viewings on saturday. We are stuck between two houses and have made an "offer" (we're only renting, seems a bit complicated but hohum) on one. Both have big gardens and are a few minutes walk from country parks and countryside so I started thinking about dogs again, maybe adopting a greyhound as we could take it out morning and afternoon and they sleep a lot? But ee maybe not, would feel awful if something happened to it while we were at work or it got anxious :( I've got loads of uni work to do today and will have a long bath tonight.

Adelight I wonder if this page on the Dogs Trust website, about rehoming, would be helpful to you?
    http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/howrehomingworks/default.aspx#.T5UvE9lrWcY
It gives info on how to go about finding a suitable dog; greyhounds vary greatly in their needs - some are quiet, calm and basically "40mph couch potatoes"; others have anxiety issues, and can be very difficult for a first-time dog owner. Also, some are kept in outside kennels during their racing career, and need to learn to be clean in the house.
Here's another website that might be of interest:
    http://www.retiredgreyhounds.co.uk/

Lucy Labrador has settled in brilliantly; she walks to heel nicely with the mobility buggy, and really, all she wants is lots of fuss, plus her walks and food and a warm place to sleep. One of the easiest dogs I've had staying!:D

I wish you could too.:rotfl::rotfl: I will just have to try and "fix" myself. Take responsibility for my health, reclaim my body, replenish my coffers, rebuild my life. All it takes is a little resolve.

Agree with the little and often Yoga, that's what I'm doing with the physic exercise and stretching. Just a few minutes three times a day.

Fingers crossed - my aches and pains seem to be a little easier today.

Bitsy - glad you enjoyed the Cirque du Soleil - they are so bendy aren't they. :rotfl: I love the costumes and the music too.

Welcome back Allie - well done on passing your course.

I've had a productive morning - popped into town and offloaded some tat at the dealers. Came away £40 better off - result.

Bought myself some comfy black leather every day loafers - no excuse for not walking now. Going to try 20 mins or so every other day. I know it's hardly up to Sparkles' standard but it will do for a start. :rotfl:

Time for a little potter in the garden - the sun has finally come out and it's (reasonably) warm.

Then time for some R & R - rest and relaxation.

    Have a good day.

    Hmmm....

    OK, that's
    • New skeleton, with non-creaky joints (the pain-free version, please)
    • New ears, so I can ditch the hearing aid; oh, and I'll have the up-to-date new tech that comes without tinnitus
    • Teeth - full set
    • Eyes (I've worn specs since I was 5 yrs old)
    • Skin that doesn't break out in weird patches for no apparent reason, and that can tolerate more that 2 mins sun exposure
    • Non-breakable nails
    • Properly functional immune system
Oh, s*d it, just give me a new body and have done with!:rotfl:
