    Hi all,

Another quick one I'm afraid, have been reading your posts and am thinking of you but struggling to find time to comment at the moment. Ended up calling in sick to work on Friday as well so had a very fairly quiet weekend just trying to get back to normal. Am still not right and is getting rather frustrating now - I have no patience with being ill :o Got a wee lecture off my mum as well saying it'll be cause I've been overdoing it. She probably has a point but tbh unless I can work out how to magic some more hours into the day there's not much I can do about it at the moment. Do think I probably need to start better care of myself though - I am aware that the healthy eating etc has trailed off over the last month or so :o Now I just need to find the time to do a meal plan and a shop! :rotfl:
Emailed the cousin about some work on Friday but still not heard anything back so don't think that's looking good. Just could really do with something to get me out of here at the moment - came back in today still not feeling great to a mountain of work and a load of nasty notes. Just felt like turning round and going home again :(

Anyway, sorry bit negative, sending everyone fabbing vibes and hope you're all having a better day x

Forgot to mention earlier, I was told I looked fabulous and great today in my slim jeans. Funny as I had on my slightly faded black jeans and just a normal top. Must have been the week out of work I've had and people forgot what I looked like!
Bought myself some comfy black leather every day loafers - no excuse for not walking now. Going to try 20 mins or so every other day. I know it's hardly up to Sparkles' standard but it will do for a start. :rotfl:

Well don't worry about where I am now because that's where I started. I began from the point where I walked my dog for 5 mins in the morning and 15mins in the evening then when I started the change in diet and exercise I built up to 15mins in the morning and 20mins in the evening.

Now I do 20mins in the morning and 40mins in the evening, which used to be 50mins then 45mins but I walk quicker now than last year.

And today went out for an hour and 15mins just back in time before the rain bucketed down in a very heavy long shower so today's planned run is on hold as not running in that rain or through those puddles. Glad I made it back before it threw it down, only by a couple of mins too!

Think I'll attempt one or both of these later - 20mins yoga and 15mins pilates or 20mins step. Will see in a couple of hours time

Good evening everyone, and remember only 8 weeks to go until the summer solstice and fabulous time! Can we do it? Of course we can!

Adelight have a hug xxxx where is your nan? Is she up here or down by you? There is a saying that it's easier to get forgiveness than ask for permission. I would be suprised if Uni wouldn't give you an extension on compassionate grounds xxx sorry probably not much help in making your decision really xxx

Hi, sorry I missed your birthdays Callisto andLW, hope you had a good un:) x

LL-I just want to crack on - I feel that life is passing me by.

I know what you mean :( I really want to get moving on the job front but can't do much with the finger and the shoulder, oh and not forgetting the bruised knee where I fell. Still feels a bit stiff. I'm still managing most of my day to day tasks but everything seems so awkward, and now I'm having to do sort of physio on the finger every 1-2 hrs so what with shoulder physio its becoming a full time job. Anyway LLhope you are feeling a bit better, we are all here for you if you need us :)

Mooloo - I have been reading a book, Feel the Fear....and do it anyway, by Susan Jeffers

Noticed this recommended in the newspaper -it caught my eye a bit actually, might see if I can get a copy from library, sounds interesting.

Bitsy- I sit and do myself a plan every week. I split it into morning, afternoon and evening and jot down things I need to do each day. I try not to overstretch, if I don't manage something one day I try and fit it in the next, and when I've done it I tick it off and anally retentive or not it does feel good to tick off some thing you've done. When I was having counselling she recommended I do this, but 1st she had me write down everything I did just for a day as I did it – it was surprising how much we all do in a day without realising it.

On the walking I do about 2 hrs 4 days a week and 1hr 2days a week, doesn't seem to be shifting any weight though :(

PP – hope you feel better soon (((hugs)))

Adelight – (((hugs))) so sorry about your nan, am sure they'll understand at uni and try and help you.

Things not going to well here - abit down again- on the ESA front – looks like they've sorted it but we are still well down on what we got on incapacity benefit, think that was the governments idea as even if we win at appeal we will still be below our previous income. Just feeling like whichever way we try to think of a way out of it all we hit a brick wall and until I'm fit again it's gonna stay that way.
Went to the WI event but not sure it's for me- although they did have a choir which I quite liked the look of but again it looks like there isn't a meeting near me. Going to email the contact on the info and look into it a bit more before I make a final decision.
Got an assignment due for OU so probs be MIA for the rest of the week, but I'll try and keep up.

    See you soon x

hello all - sorry I haven't been about much I've been so busy in work (end of financial year) and home with wedding stuff. I am still keeping up with my hair, nails and skin but my clothes are suffering - I've a lot that doesn't fit and isn't flattering but once the wedding is over and I've more money I'll start to build up my wardrobe.

    Good morning Ladies:)

It's a cold damp one again - my bones don't much care for this kind of weather. Never mind, will have a nice hot bath in a moment and then "gel" up with the pain-relievers.

Am currently typing this with hair removing cream on my legs and underarms and a face pack. Talk about multi tasking. Just think how much time this saves.

Adelight So sorry to hear about your nan. I'm sure than uni will be accommodating. Talk to them asap and then go and see her.

PP - I hope you are ok. You sound seriously overloaded. As for work - it really sounds awful. I know there's not much around but is it worth casting out your nets to see what there is. I know your long term goal is to become self employed but this might take some time. If your work is making you miserable and draining all your energy it might be better to try and find something else.

Lizzie - I think you are right the ESA payments are lower than IB and I think that the people who have been moved from IB to ESA have had some nasty shocks.

Is there anything you can do to bump up your income without contravening the rules. A few car boots, a bit of Ebaying.

I made £40 yesterday, selling some old CD's, a couple of old cameras and a few computer games. It was all our own personal stuff. I didn't buy them with the purpose of trading, so it's all perfectly legal and above board. You are allowed to sell personal possessions etc - just not to commercially trade.

£40 is not a fortune but if you can manage just £50 or so a month it would help. It's amazing what you can sell to raise money when you put your mind to it. A couple of years ago I half cleaned out the loft and made £1100. It's now full again:rotfl:. A couple of car boots a month could easily bring in £100.

Once your family know what you are up to they will gladly pass their stuff on to you too - it saves them the hassle of getting rid of it. Again you will not be breaking any laws - you will be helping your parents/siblings declutter;). When we were really hard up OH and I would do regular car boots. My parents were also passing stuff to us - even my next neighbour did from time to time.:D

OH and I loved doing car boots on a nice sunny day. I would make up a flask of coffee and some sandwiches, we would take a couple of folding chairs. OH would always wear a daft hat or something eye-catching to grab the buyers' attention and make them laugh.

The "Elvis" wig was a spectacular success - you could see them looking and wondering whether it was a joke or was it for real. However, I digress. The trick is to get the family on board and make it fun.

    A tip for the declutterers.

Metal prices are at a premium so whilst I've been sorting out I have been separating the metal. I now have several boxes - all neatly sorted out into copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminium and general "not sure". I will be seeking out a scrap metal merchant to see what I can get. OK not a fortune but at one time I would have simply taken it all to the tip - not any more. ;) The money is better in my bank than theirs.

It's a sign of the times that we have now seen a return of the scrap metal man doing his rounds. A lorry now though not a horse and cart..............Trust me there is money in metal, don't just give it away.

Anyway time to get cracking, a pile of ironing, a mini blitz then off to see OH.

Hope you all have a good day. X
