I had my hair coloured/highlighted and cut yesterday. Its shorter now, with a graduated bob from the back to the chin. Looks so much better.
Had compliments from my family anyway. Havent seen anyone else except BF. He came over yesterday. He was complimentary as well, and again he commented before he left for work this morning. Thats amazing! he is not particularly good at compliments. I am expected to know!.
How many of us have been there?
Anyway, I feel so much better, what with the new glasses. Finances will be a bit stretched but its worth it.
Tonight I am off over to his for the weekend, DGD in tow. So no opportunity to dress up in any glad rags and go out. Oh well.
I shall be firing on all cylinders with the court.

I managed to clear away some of the mess in the sittingroom corner, (the clean washing brought in and not put away), and I also spent a bit more time clearing out the DGD old room ready for moving into with my sewing.
However there has been a crisis with the kids and DS may have to come back home for a bit. So sewing room may have to wait a bit. Alas.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    all!

......... and horror of horrors no telly! (also shoved in the conservatory and dismantled from the sky box etc).
The house is sooo quiet as the first thing I do when I get in is put the telly on for a bit of company.

I'll also try watching some "telly" on the Iplayer thingy later. There's a few things I've missed so there should be something available to watch.

Have you seen/tried this site? :-

I'm getting too old for this birthday lark!!:D

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Have a good time tonight LW. I'm sure you'll be exhausted tomorrow but your DH will be pleased that he's pleased you IYSWIM. My DH was meant to go to Bletchley Park for his birthday treat last September but we haven't got around to it yet. Must put it on the list! It's a couple of hours away for us so I'd rather not drive through torrential rain and hail like we've had today.

Do try and go to your Spice thing tomorrow ww, I think all your excursions sound fun. I've just (last week before it rained) washed and ironed two pairs of curtains so I know how you're feeling. It'll be worth it when it's all done though. Perhaps a relaxing bath and an early night would help?

I don't have a dog adelight but my DD2 has one and it seems to have required more changes to her life than a baby. It seems like a big responsibility to me. As well as the walking and feeding she never seems to be able to stay out for more than a few hours at a time or she brings the dog with her. As it's some sort of mad spaniel, he's not welcome everywhere which I know has caused a bit of friction. That being said, I have another friend who has the most delightful rescue dog. She's much older (that's my friend and the dog:)) so she doesn't need to leave her that much and if she takes her out with her, she behaves really well. She came for lunch in a country pub with us the other day and behaved beautifully in the car and sat under the table inside. So I suppose what you choose is very important.

Have a good day tomorrow Callisto. I know it's expensive but I think National Trust membership is well worth the money if you enjoy historic houses and the like. I went to Agatha Christie's place in Brixham over Easter.

I went to Oxfam this afternoon with all the bras I turned out of my knicker drawer. I read about the appeal in the paper and the website explained more. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/applications/blogs/pressoffice/2012/04/02/big-bra-hunt-don%E2%80%99t-bin-them-recycle-them/

Miserable young man in shop didn't even say thank you. I know they take people in charity shops now to give them work experience (and he had a lot to learn) but I was very tempted to say something.

Sorry to hear that funds are low again tru. I thought that cottage in Mevagissey looked really lovely. So restful, wandering around the harbour. I was lucky enough to live in Mumbles for a while and it was a delight. Just going out for a pint of milk felt like being holiday.

It's making me homesick. Off to make our supper.

Maman - I'm Welsh but from nearer Bridgend but did go to uni in Swansea and lived in Mumbles for a while too! I know what you mean about feeling like you're on holidays there. Brilliant pubs too! Maybe why I spent 7 years at uni (oh, and the degree and PhD maybe too.....:rotfl:).

Have just popped out to buy a few pictures/prints for the new room that match perfectly - marched around the shop carrying one of the new cushions to match up the colours - the assistant thought it was hilarious:o

I promise I'll try to go to the pub thing tomorrow - even if ots just for an hour and I take the car. Don't want to start backing out of things now. I also have the new book club on Thursday and an Indian Sunday lunch next weekend with the ladies that lunch type group - looking forward to them.

Thanks for the link Skymist - I'll have a look, will be useful for the telly addict in me

Mooloo - the hair sounds lovely and obviously suits you if people are commenting. Well done for taking the plunge!

Fedup - for goodness sake - put your feet up ! You're putting the rest of us to shame!

    Hardly! ;)

Well I did manage to take the dog for 2 medium walks of 40mins each, lots of washing which surprisingly dried outside without the aid of the TD which I'm trying to avoid using this year and then onto sweeping and mopping the floors and hoovering away. Rest of cleaning tomorrow as couldn't be bothered to do much more.

:j Forgot to mention that I too my measurements last night as its not weigh in week this week as no access to scales and another half inch has gone from my hips and thighs :j. A total of 6.5 inches from my hips and 2.5 inches from my thighs.

Now that's what I call a result! And worth sticking at the diet plan for almost a year!

    Morning :)
DS seems better, wasn't up in the night in pain so hopefully he's over the worst. Had 10 hours uninterrupted sleep last night (feel asleep cuddling DD :o) and boy do I feel better for it.

Not much fabbing apart from lots of dog walking, speaking of which I need to go and have a shower shortly and get ready to take her, weekends she gets fed first and walked later :)
Off out tonight all being well for a couple of drinks and a boogie with a friend so lots of fabbing before I go out tonight :)

Maman I would agree about dogs being more of a change than a baby! Luna sure was it. With a baby you can put them in car seat and take them places, even in a push chair. Dogs are so much more restrictive, even more so when they are not fully inoculated

Callisto happy birthday to you  hope you have a wonderful day xxx

LL are you OK Hun? How's your H? Is he feeling any better? Xxxxx

Fedup well don't on your lost inches :T

Mooloo well done on your compliments :)

LW no I don't have the Gene Simmonds tongue :rotfl:

Have a great Saturday everyone xx

Anyway tooday I'll be out with the dog after a shower and get dressed. Then a walk into town and back and then onto assignment as quite behind now with not doing much yesterday.

I'm trying to cut back on car usage when I'm not at work. At weekends mainly walking or cycling depending on what I'm doing and not using the car today or tomorrow

    Happy Birthday Callisto :bdaycake: :D

My hip was very stiff when I tried to get out of bed this morning. I think mr tru thinks I'm mad - I was going "no no no" then "MOVE" :DWhen I started walking I couldn't put any weight on it. By the time I'd limped down to the chicken shed it was fine. Must've just slept in a funny position. Phew.

I wish I could go for a bike ride, I'm not allowed to atm. I'm jealous of you,

Hi everybody, I've just been reading through your posts thanks. Recently, there has been much of my usual themes (diet and exercise) which I consider essential for my health problems. However, I am trying to think of other ideas as at times I feel a "frump" moaning about it all.

Anyway, I have thrown away an old partly broken massaging footbath as also it seemed to irritate my feet. Consequently, will look into other ways for foot health.

Today, so far, have had a good kitchen tidy up and done a small gardening job. It's strange how it makes me feel "fab" as it is a repetitive process.
