OH responding well to treatment so no hospitalisation required this time. I think we were lucky to catch the pneumonia so quickly before any real damage was done.
He's such a fighter - I heard him say to the nurses "I will get better".Never any room for negativity with that one.
Yes it's time for some "N's"
Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP)
Basically this is all about the power of language - how our thoughts can determine our feelings and actions. If we use positive language and strong definite words - I will, I shall, I can, etc. NLP can help improve our mood and give us the necessary strength and willpower to take affirmative action.
Obviously there are some outcomes that we cannot control but NLP is a very useful tool in helping us get our heads in the right place.
Thoughts become Actions. I think it was Henry Ford who said "If you can think it - you can do it".
Niceness
The word nice is often seen as being a bit "limp" or bland, probably because it's a bit overused. However, but I think it's a good word to use in how to describe how I like to deal with others. Just being nice - pleasant, kind and considerate if you like. Being nice costs nothing and it makes life so much easier and more pleasant.
Yesterday I spotted my neighbour, who is very ill, sitting out in the sunshine. I was exhausted after visiting OH and really just would have preferred to be alone for a while before starting to cook dinner etc. I thought it would be nicer of me to give her half an hour or so of my time and just sit with her.
She was so pleased to see me and it meant her husband could have a little break. It was only a small thing to me but I could see they were both touched.
It costs nothing to be nice to others occasionally.;)
WW Glad to see you're "all fired up" and ready to go. Like you I've set myself a target to lose 1 stone.
Race You.:rotfl::rotfl:
As you know I'm really struggling with muscle and joint pain at the moment and am being tested to find out what is causing all this inflammation.
The standard anti-inflammatories aren't very suitable for me and I'm rather set against steroids. I have spent some time researching natural inflammatories - both complimentary medicines and herbal supplements etc. I've also looked at dietary recommendations so I shall be shopping and stocking up on appropriate foods.
Most of them are based around oily fish, poultry, fruit & veg, avoiding processed foods, most grains but especially wheat, certain starchy root vegetables such as parsnips and the "nightshade" family i.e. potatoes and tomatoes. So really that should also be a weight reducing diet as well.:rotfl:
Lovely day here today. Got the plumber coming this morning but hoping to have a little potter in the garden later.
Have a great day.0 -
Sorry - how rude of me.:o
I meant to say a very big thank you for all your kind thoughts and good wishes to OH.
I think all your "positive vibes" and "healing thoughts" must have helped him get better more quickly.
I certainly didn't expect him to recover with such speed - I feared that yesterday would see him admitted to hospital.
Thankfully the nursing home staff were able to look after him.
I spent most of the day with him and they were all so lovely and caring.0 -

That could be a SW menu easily LL, provided you don't put lashings of butter on the veggies and limit the grains then you can eat all of that.sorry, I'm such a covert to SW I still can't believe that I can eat so much and stay slim!!
Great to hear that your OH is on the mend.
I've had a few compliments about my short, coloured nails. DH likes them and DD1 wanted to know if I'd done them myself! They'll need redoing/touching up today but I think it's worth it. I've used a dark red at the moment but will experiment with other colours.
You did make me laugh about your lack of celebrity knowledge LW, I'm much the same. Friends tell me that I walked past Brian May at the theatre the other week and then had to explain to me who he is.
I'm just going to get fabbed up as DH and I are off to get passport photos done so I don't want to look too ghostly. I'm loving the sun, and managed a walk yesterday (although very impressed with the running and swimming and gym visits going on) and will be dancing later.

Hi all,
morocha - hun, that is a massive amount to be dealing with all at once, especially when you're not feeling well. Def go back to the drs and push for the blood tests, I really do find it so annoying how they seem to automatically go for the easy option and just fob people off. Yes, you're going to be tired being a mum but there is a difference between being a bit tired and being constantly exhausted.
LL - hope Mr LL is feeling better, really do think the positive attitude helps.
Anyway, been feeling really tired this weekend so not done a great deal. Was meant to be doing some photoshoots on Sunday but someone cancelled on me and someone didn't get back to me until too late so ended up being called off. Have booked in for this weekend instead so hopefully will go better! Am a little annoyed with a so-called friend - I mentioned earlier that OH had a bit of a falling out with one of his friends who was being very nasty about the choir shoot and that he hadn't got his money yet. Anyway this other friend took his side, I stuck up for OH, you get the idea. I was a little narked at them but didn't want to hold a grudge so texted him the other day to see how he was and mentioned the photos. He doesn't bother replying to me but messages OH saying that he wants his camera back that I've been borrowing, and that he knows I'm using for these shoots. He had a very lame excuse for why he needed it and I know for a fact he hasn't used it in about 3 months, tbh I think he had forgotten about it, I reminded him and he decided cause of the fall out he wanted it back.
Am just a little hurt that he wants to be so petty I suppose - this is the friend that we let stay with us for about 4 months when he had nowhere else to go and I've done numerous favours for him on top of that. I guess sometimes you find out who your real friends areI really need my own camera but not looking like it will happen until April when OH gets his money in.
Anyway, bit negative there so moving on. The red nails are lasting quite well and since am in grey and black today at least I have a bit of colour thereNeed to do a hair condition tonight I think. Hope everyone has a good day x

LW - I'm loving Alcatraz, am addicted to that and Once upon a Time at the moment0

:rotfl: I have zero interest in celebrity culture; I don't read magazines; currently we watch just two TV programmes per week, both of which are drama serials ("Alcatraz" and "Fringe"); we tape those in order to fast-forward through all the advert breaks, and I do my cross stitch whilst we're watching them as I can't abide just sitting on my bum gawping at the idiot-box.:D So I guess it's no wonder that my knowledge of celebrities is next to zero. I do sort of know who Brian May is though, due to his involvement with astronomy - though I doubt I'd recognise hm if I walked past him.:D
Ooooh Peter Bishop in Fringe.......worth watching it just for himI confess I've not followed Fringe this last series.....it's just got too confusing
LL glad the vibes and positive attitude have done wonderedI am so with you on the NLP, never mind you are what you eat, you are what think
Podperson -meh to people being pettystill least you've seen true colours now. My economics teacher was right...money IS the root of all evil....brings out the worst in some

((hugs)) LL positive vibes for OH, hope he recovers quickly

I had virtually no sleep last night freaking out about my exam time table. My exams are all on consecutive days, I have a weeks study leave and all my assignments and dissertations are in the week before that. And this year my uni have changed the classification system so that you can have no slip ups at all. How do they expect us to get decent grades now?! I really don't understand as we usually have 2+ weeks study leave and at least a few days between exams and all other courses do still except final year maths. Some people even have two exams in one day. And it's not like it wouldn't fit the exam timetable to move one or two of ours. Grrr. I have an insane revision/work schedule to plan tonight
I treated myself to some fabbing products from TK Maxx today and will spend £60 in the ASOS sale after I've done my to-do list for tonight.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Well the lovely weather saw me break out the summer skirt, blouse and sandals. But it was a bit chilly this morning in the wind.
It was lovely sitting in the sun in my garden this afternoon. pity I didnt have any wine in the chiller!
Oh well cup of tea it is then.
Put make up on on Friday night for the first time this year I think!
Went out with BF- we are trying yet again!. I must be mad. We had a lot of issues to tak about, and although we both see things from different sides, we are beginning to understand the other ones points of view a bit better.
I still feel rather thick around the middle since less exercise, but this weekend we went for a very long walk, and I was so chuffed that I managed it. I did have my walking stick, but i had never believed I could have covered such a distance. Lets hope that this sunshine continues to help my joints and the like.
Its lovely to see the sunshine, it makes my mood lift much better.
Went to a wedding fayre on Sunday with my daughter who is getting married next year, and they were asking me what I was going to wear?? eek. I hadnt even thought a single thing about that!.
Perhaps I will have to raid my fabric stash and see if there is any inspiration in it before I go off and start looking at clothes. Maybe I will be able to make something. Then it would be unique to me. No fear of anyone else wearing the same as me then!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
