Feeling a little better now after a nice relaxing bath. Got most of the jobs done today which were on my list including a defuzz and a feet treat and nails tidy up, also a face mask and exfoliate. Also used my new day cream which comes in at 1/7th of the price of the old one. Felt nice today and better than the night cream version. Anyway a review in a week or so to see how I get on with it.
Anyway tomorrow is a busy day indeed and will attempt to do a little fabbing make up wise with a nice soft and gentle look for spring daytime for a nip to town and back then its on with some baking and packing for holibobsfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Evilsquid well done on the weight loss, and good luck with your interview.
Morocha have you been to see your GP? Its not normal to be tired all the time. Get blood tests, especially your iron levels. And how are you sleeping? Do you get enough zzzzs and without interruptions? I find when I have PMT I have a couple of days when I need to sleep extra, and now that I don't fight this I see a difference.
Hi, yes I have, many times When I am not coping, they say
1* It is normal to be tired when you are a mother
2* tell me off for taking/ stopping the citalopram that they precribed months ago.
I sleep( quite late but I do sleep) but get up really tired, I just can not feel like this anymore and today started taking the AD 's again.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

What's the new cream?
Sounds interesting......0 -
Talking about creams - can anyone recommend a cheap but effective night cream that's not too greasy/facemasky?
Most that I've tried are way too rich for me and leave a slick on the pillow! But, being 40, I must now persevere or will be even more prune like than now!
Morocha - hope the ADs help you feel a bit better soon xx0 -

I know a lot of you fabbers do wonders with your nails,;) so I thought maybe you'd have some advice for me.:o
Every so often, my nails flake, and they've just started doing it again with a vengeance. I know the problem is down to the lupus, but is there something cheap I can bung on them to strengthen them?
To give an example - Dylan's food is measured out, and his owners have put it in poly bags, the tops of which are tied together. Shouldn't be a problem. This morning, I opened one for his breakfast and a big flake came off one of my nails just through undoing a simple knot tied in polythene.:(
Mr LW said "If you weren't vegetarian I'd say to eat jelly" but anything with gelatine in isn't an option for me. I can't afford to buy expensive products which might or might not work, but if there's a basic thing I'd have in the house, or can get for pennies, I'd be glad to know about it
TIA:beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hope you've remembered.......
I'm wearing my new brown jeans, brown cardigan, lime green tee-shirt and some multi-coloured beads that pick up the green. The head to toe brown is quite slimming and, for me at least, more flattering than black. Can't do black I'm afraid.
Went for my blood test - they are looking for PMR - Polymyalgia Rheumatica:eek::eek: They'd better not find it.!!!!!
The "cure" for this is prednisolone. I refuse to go down that route unless I'm absolutely forced to - so I'm currently researching natural remedies for something less invasive and toxic.
I'd rather put up with some level of pain and preserve bone health than no pain and store up future trouble with osteoporosis. My aunt has this so I know I'm at risk. I'm therefore trying to take every precaution to protect myself from future problems.
LW - there are loads of potions for strengthening nails, most come in at around £5. I'm using Sally Hansen Cuticle Massage Cream £4. It contains apricot oil and is very effective.
You could also try just ordinary vaseline - just rub into nails/cuticles last thing at night. Soaking fingertips in warm almond oil every so often also feeds the nails. In the meantime keep them short.
Hope that helps.
Morocha
I agree that at 27 HRT is likely to be unsuitable for you. Your hormone levels should still be ok at your age. There are, of course, rare exceptions. Only a blood test will be able to determine what's going in. I agree it could also be that iron levels are too low.
Your best best is to keep pestering your doctor.
Don't worry - the fact that you are aware of the difficulties that your PMT presents and that you are trying to sort it out means that you are, by definition, a good mother. If you weren't, you wouldn't be bothered trying to sort things out.
Don't torture yourself - lively four year olds are damned hard work. Just lots of cuddles, snuggling up for story time etc. Once she is at nursery or school you will get a few breaks and it will get easier.
Then you'll have a nice few years of respite - then she'll become a teenager.:eek:
Then the fun will really start.
Have a great day everyone.0 -

I've found the 'mother' thread quite uncomfortable at times.
Oh dear. So sorry.
My comments on Mothers seems to have opened a can of worms. Better put the lid back on quick, quick.
I was going to mention Mothers in Law :eek:
I've had two and they were both monsters. (God rest their souls).
All I'm going to say is that when (if???) my boys ever get that far I promise and resolve to be a nice Mother in Law. I will endeavour to be sweet, charming and pleasant at all times. I will mind my own business, I will not interfere. I will never criticise. I will keep my mouth firmly shut. I will be a paragon.:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
LL Thanks:A - I'll try Vaseline first off; we don't have any in the house, but Mr LW's taking me into town later today, so we'll nip into S/drug and get some. My nails are short, but still they flake.
I sincerely hope you don't have to take Pred; I've had that, and the side effects were horrid. In the end I begged to be taken off it.
I never knew my Ma-in-law; she passed away about 2 months before I met Mr LW, but from what he tells me of her, we'd have got on fine.:o We still have a lot of her kitchen equipment, and silently thank her whenever we use it.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all,
adelight - love the colours but must admit don't think I'd like the tastewoot on the proper shoes!
maman - glad you enjoyed the opera - aren't we a cultured lot?, regarding the mother thing, I don't think being a good mum means always giving your kids what they want at the expense of your own life and needs - being a role model of a happy, confident woman is a great thing, it doesn't do your kids any good to see mum being unhappy or frustrated because she's never allowed to do anything for herself. Try not to feel guilty about your dd, I'm sure she will find her own path even if it's not exactly what you wanted for her x
Morocha - hope the ADs help a little, have you been tested for anemia at all?
Anyway, very little I liked at Asda so ended up getting a black fitted shirt - I suppose at least I can wear it for work afterwards - and a red flower necklace. Have a red bangle and painted my nails to match so that will have to do!
Got a couple of replies to my ad for headshots so hopefully can get them booked in this weekend. Is a bit scary but realised that if I ever want to get anywhere I need to stop avoiding things because of that0
