Your post struck a chord with me sparkles as I'm desperate for new bras. Like you, mine don't fit after the weightloss. I have a favourite shop that's in a nearby town and I've been trying to co-ordinate a visit with their market day. I think I'm going to have to give up on that and just go any day I can fit in or go to John Lewis or somewhere local.
At least you can go somewhere in the UK - I had to wait til I went to Belgium on holiday to get any decent bras! I just could not find anything in my size, with underwires but without padding, and in nice colours here. Luckily for me, there's an Etam in Brugge.;) Gods know what I shall do when the six I bought there wear out, though....:rotfl:

    Afternoon all!
Just back from the Mothers Day trip home to Wales. It went quite well, mum enjoyed the restaurant yesterday and insisted on taking photos (which I hate!) and liked the flowers and card - so a happy mummy;)

My dad (who never notices anything) said that I look well this morning and even wolf whistled me (in a dad kind of way:p) when I was all dressed and ready to go home. I only had dark denim jeans, a bright red cardi and patterned scarf on - not exactly haute coiture! I guess that a little bit more effort goes a long way?!

I did feel quite fat yesterday though and my mum has lots of mirrors in her house and there was no avoiding the fact that I have put some weight on - only about half a stone I think but it needs to go - so starting tomorrow the new regime is on!

I also used my mum's shampoo and conditioner (Dove Pro Age) and its done miracles to my hair! Its all soft and smooth and feels really clean - I've bought some to try out.
Tonight, its a bath and bit of a pre week tidy up for me - must make more effort for work - I do well some days and others I know I could try harder!

Amazing that you would go that far to buy your bras LW. I expect it's some super sexy continental stuff. That Mr LW is a lucky man!;)

I'm glad your weekend trip went well ww. That shampoo sounds good but I was wondering whether it's the soft Welsh water that's made your hair all lovely?

Do you know Maman that I usually moan about how my hair won't do anything when I go home - its normally way too flyaway and soft. I think the water does have something to do with it but the Dove stuff definitely helped too - made it shinier some how.
The big test will be in the morning when I wash it to go to work..............cue bad hair day!

Wasnt feeling the best yesterday. Didnt see any of the kids. Got a text message from my son to say happy mothers day. But as two of the girls gave me cards on friday I shouldnt complain.
Missed the BF and as he decided to keep up a conversation texting etc, then its made it a sad, pointless day. So I was rather depressed.
Managed a bubble bath before bed, but apart from shaving my legs, then there was nothing else beautifying done.
Need to save/set aside some money for a hair do, the bottom 4 inches seems to have started to Bush out, and looks awful. I am not very good with tongs. Will have to learn.
Today I have nothing to dress up for, but I have put on a flower blouse, and my darker jeans. Try to cheer myself up a bit. Moisuriser about all I do during the week.
Got to collect my son, he is to paint the bedroom, or he is in trouble! I am sick of waiting for it to be done. So may end up painting to keep him motivated.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    Morning all,

Savvy - nice to see you back, hope you enjoyed your pamper night :)

Maman - am the same with the bras unfortunately, ended up getting a couple of cheapies at asda the other day just cause mine have literally all dropped to bits on me but I don't think they are quite the right size so think will need to bite the bullet and go somewhere for a proper measure and fit.

Sparkles - well planned week I think :)

LW - am in shock you have to go so far to get a decent bra  do they deliver at all?

WW - glad you had a nice weekend, sounds like mum appreciated the effort

Mooloo - shame you couldn't see the kids on the day but sounds like they were at least thinking of you with texts and cards - know I couldn't get to see my mum and was a bit gutted :( Hope the painting goes well!

Anyway, have had a rather nice weekend. Managed to get my script sent off in time - not entirely happy with it and am not convinced I entirely meet the criteria for what they are looking for but hey, if you dont try you never know! So had a few drinks Friday night to celebrate getting finished.
Then met up with Sky on Saturday, who was just lovely in RL :) and although we went to a bit of a wash out of a vintage fair it was followed by a rather productive mooch round the charity shops - she must be lucky for me as haven't bought anything from them in ages!
Then Sunday ended up borrowing a friends camera and since it was such a lovely day, having a wander to the Botanics to try it out. A bit of sunshine really does give you a bit of a boost! Unfortunately back to dull and grey this morning but can't have everything!

Hope everyone has a good day x

It was lovely to meet up with PP in the real world, and she's a real sweetie, although poor lass had to put up with a dose of verbal diarrhea as she became my captive audience for a few hours :rotfl:....hope I didn't blast your ears of PP!!! :rotfl:....and the weather gods smiled down on us as it was a beautiful sunny day. :D

Well, I think we're into a week of Ms so........

Motivation...which I hope will will be winging it's way to all those who have lost theirs a bit, especially with the "official" retun of summer next weekend, when the clocks jump forward again.:j

Maman we were on holiday in Brugge in any case, and trundling about looking for decent wheelchair accessible bars (as opposed to bras, lol) we happened to pass an Etam, and I just said to Mr LW "we haven't had that shop in the UK for yonks, could I pop in for a few minutes and look for bras, please?" I'd been looking in MK for well over a year, tried Northampton also, to no avail. So we didn't make a special trip to Belgium just to get them!:rotfl:

Podperson good point - I haven't looked into whether they have a web presence or anything; I'd had my previous bras for at least seven years (using back extenders when I put on weight, which I've since stopped using, having disposed of two and a half stone) and I suppose I'd subconsciously assumed I wouldn't have to bother now for another seven years! I must investigate!:o

We attended to local Moot last night - it was a talk on colour and crystals for healing. We had to choose a crystal by sight for our emotional needs (mine was Rose Quartz, which I know I need because I am totally unable to love myself, and no amount of telling myself that all that happened was totally not my fault and all that seems to make an iota of difference) and one for our physical needs by plunging our hands into a bag and choosing one by feel. I chose Bronzite, a stone I am unfamiliar with, but it's a beautiful swirly brown, like a brindled dog's coat. Like Dylan's coat, in fact!:D

It must have had some impact, because I picked a brown skirt and top today, before I'd remembered (at least on a conscious level) about the crystals.:D (I'm incapable of coherent thought til I've had at least one mug of coffee and a couple of caffeine tablets). I chose more for "what was the weather forecast - am I going to be warm enough but not too hot?" because of course, I can't change my clothes partway through the day as I can't put my top on and off without a spot of assistance :D Apparently, brown is a good colour for grounding oneself, and the bronzite itself is helpful in dealing with physical pain.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

thank you for that article, it's really interesting! i knew "fidgeters" burnt more calories because they were always moving more but i didn't know little things like that could add up to 300 calories per day!
