lw i think you should start wearing miniskirts cause those boots sound awesome!!
hugs willow
evilquid good luck with the interview and the leak. hopefully the bulge is just bubbling paint and not something too serious
princessdaisy welcome, that's the best way to lose weight
bratz congratulations
Afternoon everyone, I'm just on my break at work and wanted to pop on. I got a medicine ball at the weekend to help make my workouts more intense (can't be dealing with crazy long boring workouts!), I read David Kirsch uses them a lot with his clients. So I'm full of good intentions and motivated!
I heard back from my job interview today- I got the jobI'm so excited and very grateful, considering how hard it is to find a job right now I feel extremely lucky. I just have another couple of months of uni, exams and a dissertation to conquer first

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Adelight I've never worn a mini skirt in my life, and I think I'm a tad too long in the tooth to start now!:D:D:D
Congratulations on getting the job; great news.:T:T:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
congratulations adelight!
thank you for all your good wishes! just got back and tbh i don't think I'm going to get it. was one of those where my CV was pretty clear who i am and what i want and that person isn't who they are looking for. was one of those where i wanted to just say "why HAVE you taken me to interview in the first place? have you actually read my CV?". the one i have on the 22nd seems much more suited to me anyway and much more like what i want to do. i also have much more experience in the work they do than with this firm so i may actually stand a fighting chance of getting it.
ah well. at least to got me out and was good practice for the next one!0 -
Evilsquid it's annoying, isn't it? Mr LW had similar - one that he went to, we drove all the way to Nottingham for the interview (I went with him to share the driving), the job was advertised as his line of work (Database Administrator); he'd made clear beforehand that he had a disabled wife to care for, so being away from home is not an option, and when he got there, the job turned out to be Sales (not his line of work at all), and he'd have been all over the country, living out of a suitcase, in hotels and B&Bs for 3 weeks out of every 4.
Still, as you say, chalk it up as a practise run, and in case I forget to say, very best of luck on 22nd.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

thank you!
tbh, i was completely up against it from the start. the interviewer didn't even know about the courses i'd done at law school and point blank told me she didn't think my law degree "sounded right" and she wasn't too sure about it. I've been awarded it, got a certificate to say so and an awarding body somewhere has OK'd it to be the correct standard to count as as LLB, so surely it IS an LLB?! :mad:0 -
Good evening everyone!
Welcome Princess Daisy - enjoy the ride on the Fab Train - it's great!
Well today's fab update is went for a 4 mile run after work that went ok, tried on a skirt in Mr T which was the one I had wanted and a size 12 reappeared on the rail. Was too big around the waist so it had to go back. good job I tried it on as it was too baggy but also would have been a nightmare to walk in. Like walking in a tube so not too sad it went back!
What else, a nice chat with friends about keeping the exercise going and how much we are all enjoying it and finding each other's journeys inspiring to keep going for it and toning up ahoy!

It sounds like everyone has been doing well and you are all keeping up with the fabbing.
Congratulation on the job adelight. Sorry about your interview evilsquid. Hugs willow, I hope that the you are having a good week. Well done on the run fedupandskint. Welcome princessdaisy.
I have been extremely busy at work, and have been finding communication quite difficult recently. I found out yesterday that I have a new co-teacher so thought I had better find out how he would like to split the work, and how he wants me to teach because our lessons start on Wednesday. Well he just told me to come back at 4pm on Tuesday, which means Tuesday night is going to be spent lesson planning rather than doing things I want to do. I keep telling myself, just seven more weeks then I am out of here.
Some friends from back home want to go on away in June so I think I will tag along, it will be great to spend some time with my old school friends. Lets hope we manage to find dates that we can all work around.
I have been trying to make an effort with my appearance but like you mentioned earlier Lesson Learned, you have to make the effort and be motivated, things don't just happen to us without the effort. I think I am lacking that motivation at the moment due to a number of things. Until I really want to lose weight, and be absolutely fabulous, I know I will keep faltering. To get a bit of exercise in though, I have been trying to walk to the next bus stop, and take the stairs instead of the escalator. Hopefully that is having some sort of affect.
Happy Tuesday everyone.0 -
LL - very true about the hearing and lip-reading. I'm completely deaf in one ear and I have to lip read a lot if I'm out and about somewhere that can be a bit noisy, even a cafe for example.
The amount of people who know me and still stand on my deaf side and expect me to hear them is unreal!
podperson - thanks for the offer but it's not the in-laws stressing us out right now, it's the wedding venue. They've made changes to the ceremony room which impacts our whole decoration we hired for the room and didn't bother to flipping well tell us, we found out by accident.
We've a meeting on Thursday night to see the wedding co-ordinator and have it out with her. Am completely raging, it's less than 3 months to go and we're being messed about.
Apart from that things are fine actually. Work is busy but not too busy, if you get me and managed a nice meal out with h2b last night so did my nails especiallycarpe diem

I have worked so long with diasbled kids that I automatically use sign language if in a noisy place etc... my children both started their school career at special schools (but with a lot of hard work and support from the lovely people in Bromley early years are now mainstream) understand the signs too... very handy when telling them their lunch has arrived at the cafe when they are in a busy play park!0

Morning all,
LW - glad you enjoyed the theatre, save the boots for next time then! My old dog was called Dylan, was a complete sweetie so hope your one is similar
Adelight - congrats on the job :jHow are you finding the medicine ball? OH has one in the back of a cupboard somewhere but I'm never too sure what I should be doing with themStill suppose am ok until I at least finish doing the shred, intense enough for me at the moment!
evilsquid - sorry the interview wasn't quite what you wanted, and the woman sounds very strange! Guess it's all practice and fingers crossed for the one later in the month.
Bratz - how annoying  do they not think you might need to know that?? Hope you manage to get things straight on Thurs. Meal sounds nice though
Boss was interviewing again yesterday, the lass who was going in managed to get herself completely and utterly lost - rang me up and was literally miles away, had totally gone the wrong way and was due here in 5 mins. Ended up calling in 3 times while I tried to 'direct' her here and was nearly an hour late *sighs* I did feel quite sorry for her, you could tell on the phone she was getting quite upset and flustered - but at the same time, surely if you knew you were going to an interview you'd fnd out how to get there beforehand?? We are in a slightly odd place but I know the night before I was interviewing here I was sat there with Google maps, bus timetables, street view etc to make sure I knew where I was going! Anyway, boss said she seemed nice apart from that so will have to see.
Fabwise, walked to Asda from work last night so about 20mins, then forced myself to do shred again when I got home. Aches and pains are moving around now - not sure if that's a good sign :rotfl:Brought my lunch and tea today as am straight to choir again - but no excuse now for buying unhealthy things while I'm outAm going to measure tonight when I get home so fingers crossed will have paid off a little.
