:T well done LW on posting.

As for not seeing the point of face creams etc.......well I for one want to be totally fab. For ME. No one else, am hardly on the pull what with being married an all :rotfl: however feeling and looking my best is important to my self esteem and self confidence and my self worth. I am learning the taking care of myself is showing me that I am worthwhile. Of course you are in the wheelchair but that doesn't mean you can't look totally fabulous :D
It's all about the baby steps and of course you will take into account the help you need from Mr LW but just little changes make a big difference. Keep posting when you can. Big hugs for you xxxx

:j to all the newbies, keep posting ladies.

Well I did my bicarb face scrub in the shower this morning, coconut oil on legs, arms and body, make up on, perfume on, hair styled and then promptly re styled in the wind and rain  ok windswept.....it's a look innit?! :rotfl:
Have bought another cocoa butter gift set from Boots sale. That should last me a good part of the year now :T

Ok have food shopping to put away along with a desperately needed cuppa. Will put some music in and have a jiggle whilst I unpack.

Thanks for the link skymist, will try that when everything is put awa.

Well 9 pages in but I'd like to join, please...

Saw a link to this from another thread on OS board and just read all the posts.

I'm starting a new job on 3rd Jan and needed new clothes - my last job was dress down but I'm going back to business dress and I went mad buying 4 suits  I then made an appointment with a Personal Shopper at Debenhams and she was just marvellous - just like Gok. I have always thought I couldn't wear that colour or this one but I now have a new found love for orange and brown. She put together a capsule type wardrobe that I've added a couple of other things to and doing a wardrobe audit has made me see other combinations.

I love this website http://theviviennefiles.blogspot.com/ and once lost a whole afternoon looking through it :rotfl: She takes a scarf for inspiration for colours and then puts a whole wardrobe together with mix and match.

I need to sort out my tummy too - I know a couple of you mentioned that's where your weight goes to. I need to tigthen up a little and lose about a stone so will be tackling the healthy eating bit - definitely need to exercise more as well.

I tend to look after my face (so need to concentrate on my body more) and wear make-up weekdays at work (and try to take it off everynight!!) but I've noticed new dryness around my mouth so changed my moisturiser to a thicker one...I may be fabulous according to LL's decades but my last pair of glasses were varifocals  my grandma used to wear those - they are so much better than my previous pair though!!! :rotfl:

Wow..just realised that was a long post and I don't even know if you'll have me yet....:o

Good afternoon fellow fabbers and welcome to all the new class members!

Fabwise today - lots of walking to equate to a run which I didn't do as the weather is pretty foul today and a nice hot chocolate on my return from the long and muddy dog walk (both of us!)

Next fabwise is a nice long bath with one of my christmas bath melts and a cleanse, exfoliate and face mask. Well, may as well make the most of being off work and have a relaxing afternoon bath!

Then its onto the second to last final leftover meal which hits 3 of my 5 a day and isn't too bad kcal wise. I have gone quite a bit over this week and today due to eating Christmas cake and a few chocolates. Will be a bit of a shock to the system next week back in the old routine and back on the diet wagon again!

hello all! I haven't been online in a few days (been enjoying my time off!) but managed to find you all again :)
You all have lots of New Year resolutions, whereas I don't really have any. Well, I want to continue on in the way I am, growing my hair out, taking care of my skin and walking and doing yoga more, as well as dressing nicely every day. But nothing else that stands out.

However, we now only have 6 months til I get married so I think that might have to come first - getting everything organised for that! And not stressing out too much as well. Oh dear...so much to do, I think I need LL's elephant!

Hi, please may I tag along? I will head back and read thread from the start but can anyone fill me in on the 'rules' while I try to catch up? I have come from SW thread which is great and very supportive, so I really love the sound and the positivity of this one.

PS just finding my way around now as I read!!

Hi all - feeling really inspired by what I've read so far so will be joining too to fab myself up for 2012. My PhD will finally be over (after 7 years of pain) in the next month or so and it's time for me to get my life back and have time for me. Also planning to start trying for a baby later this year so want to get myself fit, happy and healthy in preparation...

Have loved the blog links people have posted so far - particularly your one Nancy888 - thanks - love those mood boards of clothes that all work together...am getting ready for a wardrobe overhaul later this month...

:wave:Hi to the ever-growing number of new-girls in the club....LOVELY to see you all here!!!:j

Well Inazuma, there are NO rules....except to learn to love yourself a bit more, and devote a little more time to put yourself on your list of who you care about, instead of NEVER including yourself!!!

IMO this thread is about learning that to help and care for others...be that partners, kids, parent, pets, etc. you need to schedule in some "ME" time, so that you can feel/look/perform better. How many women loose confidence in themselves, 'cos they care for others, and don't have the time, or ar, at the end of the day, too tired to bother about themselves.

Well it's time to fab-up, and be a bit self-indulgent....and everyone else will benefit, when you feel better in and about yourself...whether it's about becoming healthier, via diet and exercise, being bothered to dress up/nicely each day, to put on make-up, take care of your skin, wear perfume...whatever makes YOU feel good/GREAT!!!

Lame Wolf...the pack are here to support you, 'cos that's what packs do

And I'm just a tad nervous. I wonder what the future will hold.

Today - a couple of weeks earlier than planned - OH went into permanent residential care. It was time.

It was truly lovely having him here for one last Christmas but, oh my, I paid a very high price in terms of my own health and well-being. Due to his continual decline in motor functions etc I found it virtually impossible to manage his care on my own. And, although I did have a lot of help, there were times when I had no choice but to attempt transfers etc singlehandedly.

It all became too much and for the last week or so I have had more or less permanent stress induced chest pains, crushing headaches, sleepless nights - not to mention the usual backache and joint pain. I am well and truly exhausted.

Yesterday I decided that enough was enough and finally bit the bullet. We took him in this morning, arriving just in time for lunch. He was greeted by staff and residents alike like a long lost relative.

Because he will miss New Year's Eve here, I have decided to take the New Year festivities to him. Not sure whether or not I will sleep over at the home yet, depends on DS2's plans - DS1 is popping over to Bruges for a couple of days.:rotfl: I will take OH a curry and "The King's Speech" DVD, which was a Christmas pressy and which we've not yet seen.

I haven't had chance to personalise his room yet, but can make a start next week. I got OH to sort out which paintings and artworks he wanted to take, we've discussed colours for his bedding and accessories. Burgundy red - his favourite colour:rotfl: So once New Year is done and dusted I will make sure he is comfortably settled in.

For myself - well I've just been writing a do to list. Will share my ideas and plans with you later.

One thing I will be doing this year is going back to a proper Page a Day desk diary. When I was Corporate Woman my desk diary was my best friend. If it wasn't in the diary - tough it didn't happen. Also a little notebook which I will keep in my bag. You never know when inspiration strikes.

Does anyone keep a journal - I do and find it really helpful. I first started one when OH was hospitalised for 4 months. I would write it all down, all the worries, all the heartache - it helped me through a very difficult dark time. If you are feeling low/depressed or anxious writing it all down can help.

I have kept up with it and have started backtracking over my life, just jotting down a few notes when I remember something. My journal has now become the basis of my memoirs which I intend to start writing - oooh - any day now.:rotfl::rotfl: In the meantime my journal works as my rough outline.

OH wrote his memoirs when he first became ill, whilst he was still well enough to do so. They are wonderful, just a short book about 50 pages or so, lots of pictures, but full of wit, warmth and humour. He self published and various family members have their own copy.

So from now on it'll just be me and DS2 - time for me to sort out my life and become fab-u-lous.

But first - a very big warm welcome to all our new classmates. Far too many now to address you all personally, but ladies, I do read and digest all your posts. Some really wonderful information sharing and tips going on here. Lots of positivity:T:T:T

So - bring on the "A"s
