Good evening ladies and welcome all new comers

Pod, liked the video thanks for sharing, is that you sitting in the chair ;):rotfl:(No offence) Do you think you will get the book finished on time?

(((Twinnie))) I know we have not reached the R's yet but recoup, recharge and return as soon as, we all miss you.

Love hearing about all your four legged friends :) it has been many years since I adopted a furry heartbeat less than 2 years old so already house trained :D
My sis was shocked when I explained the dangers of chocolate to dogs! My two cats are dairy freaks and they beg, never had that before!

I ploughed through a mountain of Ironing (hate it) yesterday, today I asked my O/H to marry me, he said yes....again :rotfl:I have manicured my toe/finger nails, defuzzed, scrubbed and creamed my legs. My hair is looking much better now, it takes a couple of weeks to settle after a cut.

Today has been a glorious 21degs and the same is forecast
for the next few days so I have dusted off my crops (hence the above) so my legs can get some colour :) especially now since having the dreaded VV's removed :j
My regime this past week has been more 60%-40% so I need to give myself a swift kick to restart my journey to fabdom.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Vivid Violet is a gorgeous colour but it's just too thin so you end up putting 3 or 4 coats on but it doesn't seem to be properly dry even after letting it dry overnight. Plus mine chipped within a day even with topcoat. It's a shame coz it's my favourite shade or purple.

Thanks for all the tips about Boots No7. I'm thinking I may get some mascara for every day use. I'm going to get some Benefit stuff too but I think that might be a bit OTT for trips to Sainsburys!

LW, your outfit sounded just like I'd imagine you wearing: very sort of new age and bohemian. I'd say it suits your personality and lifestyle so that's perfect.

Thanks for the choir clip pod, it looks very professionally done. The singing looked fun too. I can see why you enjoy being part of it.

ww, great that you had compliments today on your new jacket and general fabness. Let us know when the shopping arrives.

I gave myself a manicure today as my gesture towards fabness. Also made use of Bodyshop 40% offer. I planned to send for some stuff for DH and then added in a few bits for me.:o

Not seen MrsW for a while.:wave:if you're lurking.

    'night all.

Might have been a tad embarrassing if he'd said no. :rotfl::rotfl:

Well done on all the fabbing - sounds great.

Feeling a whole lot better. My mini sabbatical/retreat has helped me enormously, although I did break it yesterday to visit Mum & Dad - its Dad's birthday today.

Still very busy - sorting out stuff - especially financial/legal. A mountain to work through but - remembering the elephant - just doing a little each day.

Today will be taking OH for his equipment assessment. Once that's done I can then sort out a new car and then, hopefully, once the weather has warmed up I can start taking him on little outings.

Looks like it's going to be a lovely day here. Very springlike.

    A couple more "I"s

    Inner Peace

This has been the purpose of my mini sabbatical - to calm down the turmoil. I was finding that I just couldn't switch off and my mind was constantly racing, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, digestive problems, a mass of aches and pains which culminated in being unable to raise my arms. Just stress. The world was just spinning too fast - I needed to get off it for a while. :rotfl:

I decided what I needed was to take a step back and just calm things down. Never underestimate the value of peace and quiet, it soothes the soul.

    Inner Strength

I'm nothing special. When people profess amazement at what I've done over the last few years caring for OH I can truthfully say that I never expected to find the strength or ability to do it. The truth is we all have vast reserves of inner strength. We can all step up to the plate when we need to. Luckily most people aren't tested to the same degree that I have been - however, I know that when the need arises - the human will and human spirit will always triumph.

    Ice Cream

Only the good stuff though.:rotfl::rotfl: Great for sore throats - that's my excuse anyway.

Hi LL so glad your feeling better. I really identify with the above, thats exactly how I've been feeling, and I've only got the benefits thing to cope with. You must have been physically and emotionally drained. Its so good to know you have benefited from the rest. I totally agree that sometimes retreat is whats needed - as long as its not for too long as I know from experience this can leave you feeling worse. Enjoy your day.

My battle with DWP is no further forward. I'm in exactly the same place I was over 2 weeks ago. Think it might be time for a phone call.

Everyone here, except me, suffering with a tummy bug , hope its not me next. So mountains of sickbed washing to tackle..
Need to get back to the fabbing but just don't seem to have a minute ATM, seem to be consantly on the go with one thing following the other. I'm getting left behind.:o

Well done everyone you all seem to be on top of things fabbing wise.
Well must go and re load the washing machine......
    bye

    Morning all,

Inazuma - totally agree, I hate those kind of 'rules' - some people will suit styles no matter what age they are and some people just won't. People are individuals so those 'one rule for everyone' things just seem really silly to me.

WW - yay on the compliments, nice that people are noticing you making a bit of an effort.

Maisie - sounds like you're doing great! What are you thinking of getting done with your hair? I have quite long hair and keep thinking I should do something different with it but always tend to bottle out :o

Carmen - thanks, def not me in the chair tho :rotfl:I may put up a clip from the one in April that I will be in, depends how bad I look in it :o Yay on OH saying yes even if it was again :D debated asking OH again actually but since we've been engaged 11 years now and no date in sight it would probably annoy me more :rotfl:Some day we have spare money to do it properly. Anyway, hope you managed to catch a bit of sun.

Willow - with the Vivid Violet I put on two coats and a top coat, sometimes it's fine and sometimes it chips. If it chips I just add another coat the next day and then it last for ages. I got over a week out of it last time before having to redo.

Maman - it is good fun, I do think it's true what they say about it releasing endorphines as well, always puts me in a better mood :) We do seem to be missing Mrs W - fingers crossed she's either having a break after her stressful month or out making a million with her new business idea :D

LL - glad you're feeling better hun, hope the mountain of paperwork is at least going down.

Lizzie - sorry you seem to be getting nowhere fast, am sure they just try and make it as hard work as they can  Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Anyway, was rather lazy last night and didn't do much, got some shopping bits in and messed around a little on the website maker (is annoying me already!!) but not much else. Was going to have a fabbing night tonight but OH has just messaged me that his friend is coming round - not really bothered as do get on with him and he's just broke up with his long term girlfriend so is a bit down at the moment and could do with some cheering up - does mean I probably won't get much done tonight either though, will try and do a bit on the script at least.

Excuse me a second, folks, I need to scream.....

    AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

That's better - my wretched butterfly rash has flared up this morning, together with an "I" that I could well do without - it itches like the very devil!

I'm sure it's just because we had a visitor last evening, and that always stresses me, but I could well do without it.

Oh well, I shall plod on with dusting the bedroom (today's alloted housework room) and try to ignore it!:D
    Ice Cream

Only the good stuff though.:rotfl::rotfl: Great for sore throats - that's my excuse anyway.
I make my own - we have banana ice cream in the freezer at present - Mr LW's favourite!:o

    Morning all,

LL - glad you're feeling better hun, hope the mountain of paperwork is at least going down.

Unfortunately, not. It's higher than ever. I've come to the conclusion that paperwork is a bit like rabbits - it breeds - very fast. .:rotfl::rotfl:

Evilsquid - great news about the interviews - when are they.

Lizzie - reading your blog. Hang in there - don't give up, don't let them grind you down, keep fighting.

A very successful afternoon, trying out various equipment. Rather than adapting an ordinary car I've decided on a wheelchair accessible vehicle, with ramps, winches etc. It's going to be so much easier for me. I'm so looking forward to being able to pick OH up and then take him out for a spin. There's loads of nice places to visit and the poor soul has been confined to barracks for quite long enough.

LW - I bought an ice-cream maker last year with some birthday money but haven't got round to trying it out yet. It's on the agenda for this year. ;) Together with my "blow torch" for creme brûl!e (mmmmmnnn creme brûl!e).

Given the pain in my arms last week I've decided my next kitchen gadget will have to be an electric tin opener - a bit prosaic but a definite must. I couldn't even manage to open a tin - had to get DS2 to do it for me.

Speaking of gadgets - I've had a lightbulb moment. :D I've been thinking about Disability Needs etc - as always - and I think I've come up with something.

Need to do a bit more research and then sketch something out, get my boys to make up a prototype and then test it on OH.

Who knows you might get to see us on Dragon's Den. ;)

Let the millions roll in. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Don't forget tomorrow is Fab Friday. It's also OH's birthday. The boys and I are going to visit him and have a little tea party, so I will definitely need to make a good effort to look my best.

    Bye for now X

evilsquid how strange but well done!

I have been so busy/tired/stressedgrrrrr! Right now I have a whopping migraine which I need to get rid of or sleep off (writing this in the dark wearing sunglasses ha) so I can do some last minute prep for my interview tomorrow. After discovering my interview is in Westminster with cobbled streets, an old building with lots of stairs, almost a mile walk, a tube journey, getting off the train at the station which requires a leap to reach the platform... I decided maybe heels just weren't meant to be and am wearing flats.
At work we are taking part in some beauty industry awards thing so have sooooo much stuff to test. Everyone grabbed waht they wanted to review and noone was interested in the coloured cosmetics, especially lipsticks. I am mainly doing National Trust and Caudalie products, the former are absolutely lovely :)
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
