    Good evening all

Inspirationally for I: today had a brief chat about not being bothered about exercising today which was a strange feeling this afternoon, a feeling like I was never bothered about exercising at all that came over me this afternoon. Anyway after a nice chat with collegues it inspired me to go out after work and do it. the run was the usual short 4 miles and it was quite hard going at times but I stuck at it and did it.

Fabwise today a friend commented on my outfit telling me it was lovely and also had a nice chat about how clothes fit with another friend who is toning up and losing inches to. Then at lunchtime swapped my jumper bought in the sales for a smaller size 10. Its in a lovely colour blocking bright orange and pink! A pretty fab day on one level, however don't feel too fab on another level.

    It's inspiration that's needed here I think

Just seen on one of the other boards that if you buy Cosmo magazine this month (April issue) there are 2 free Clinique gifts with it - some nice little fabbing treats!
(mini mascara, moisture surge cream, face scrub and lip gloss selection).

Just a quick post for some mse advice please. I've got a freebee £5 Boots No7 voucher passed on by DD1. I've not bought that brand in years. Any ideas what I could spend it on?

You could try a nail varnish? Just don't go for Vivid Violet, that one's rubbish. Dollar looks brilliant though. :)

i have the topcoat from no7 and its very good. cost me £2 with a £5 voucher a while back :)

the make up brushes are very good too, as are the mascaras and eyeliners. the brushes might be with the make up accessories section with other brushes, tweezers etc not the actual no7 make up/skincare counter. they are in mine (manchester market street) anyway.

I'm off on a run tomorrow. I'm round at my parents making a start on getting my old room ready for me and DH to move into so I'm going to try my old 3 mile running route and see where it gets me. will weigh in at the gym too.

    Morning all,

LW - loving the piccie of Sidney, he looks like a proper little old man, but very cute with it :rotfl: Hope your nights out were fun, though how annoying of that woman to insisit on hugging - am assuming she knew you had shoulder problems? I would have been very tempted to screech 'owwww' at the top of my voice when she did it - might have embarassed her into not doing again :D

Willow - sounds like you're having fun at work, you'll be our resident expert on random kitchen utensils :D

LL - glad you're still reading along hun, glad you're feeling a bit better x

Maman - I usually get the nail polishes if I have a voucher, they're £7 normally (which wouldn't pay!) so £2 with the voucher. I actually think I have the Vivid Violet one - Willow is the one that's a Cadbury's purple? I quite like it, it does need a few coats or it chips too easily but when it's on its a gorgeous colour.

WW - glad you're feeling a bit better, must admit am very lax on the ironing - one of my most hated jobs as well so I hardly iron anything. When OH and I had to wear shirts for work obviously I would have to but now find I can usually get away with hanging things up to dry.

Some good 'I' words, could definately use some inspiration at the moment! At choir last night so didn't have time for much else. Managed a few bits on Monday night and did a condition on my hair, which is was sorely needing so at else that's looking a bit better. Have been feeling really exhausted this week - was dozing off when I got in on Monday night which isn't like me. Am hoping it's just that I've maybe been overdoing things and not that I'm coming down with something :(

Podperson the woman in question knows I have lupus, and is aware of how it affects me, as she's quizzed me at length about it in the past. She also knows me well enough to know I'm not a "huggy" person!.

Re the £5 Boots vouchers - I got given one the other day, and used it for a new black eyeliner, as my old one is on its last legs.:o

My own "I".... how about irreverence? :D As in... I throw the rule book out of the window when it comes to fashion etc, and dress how I feel comfortable.

Today I have on a green batik printed wrapover skirt (floor-length), a brown beaded long-sleeved top from the CS, and a green short-sleeved chenille cardi for a bit of extra warmth on my shoulders. The top has a v-shaped neck (sorry, don't know correct terms) so I have a greeny-blue enamel Pentagram on, to sort of fill the gap.

Sound awful? Probably is, but I don't care!:D

As for ironing..... I'm extremely fortunate in that I have a husband who is happy to do it; I deliberately look for clothes that don't need ironing, but the few things I have that do, he does them for me.:A

LW - I think your outfit sounds really nice :) I think it's all about labelling, it's not 'can't be bothered to follow fashion' it's 'having your own style' - and definately nothing wrong with that!

LW I think it sounds great! I hate all the stuff about not having long hair or wearing short skirts at a certain age, I think if it feels good then we carry it with confidence and it looks good. And a bit of Individuality is much more Interesting and Inspiring. I am a bit of an old Goth and that sometimes pops up now and again, which used to worry me but now I embrace it!!
  • Evening all.
I wore one of my new jackets (stone colour) to work today with smart black trousers, a black cami top and a polka dot neck scarf and heels and got loads of compliments!
I'd also made a bit more effort with hair and make up (woke up early) and so did look better.
A few people asked me if I was going somewhere after work and my gay best friend asked who I had my eye on!

Have just ordered a few more things online for work - will see what they're like when they get here before I make my mind up.

Not much in the way of effort since I've come home though - dog walk, bath and face scrub and took all make up off before I get lazy and flop into bed with it still on later.:o

    hi all

Have managed to keep on top of my fabbing. Defuzzed on Tuesday as I was going to the physio so wanted to make sure I was okay to be seen lol. My nails are looking much better and am keeping on top of my facials so my skin is looking much better following the horrible breakout of spots I had a fortnight ago when I did my first exfoliation.

Have now had the all clear from my physio so I have been able to do some of my home fitness dvds albeit gently so as not to overdo my muscles as they have had 3-4 years of under use with the pain in my hip. Have to say I can't believe I feel so good having had a hip replacement that I want to do everything at full pelt and have to remind myself to take it a bit easier.

My diet is going well although in saying that I have only been doing it for three days, hope I shall still be saying that on Sunday. So fabbing body wise in trying to lose weight.

The next bit I am going to move onto is my hair. Its quite long (part way down my back) really thick and wavy. Its needing cut as the layers have totally grown out and then I will colour it again as the colur is starting to fade after 7 weeks and I can see a few stray greys. This will be my mission for next week.
