I too get the black dog from time to time. For me it's always compounded by my feelings of impotence over my OH's illness. I also now have to deal with a shedload of guilt because I can no longer care for him properly and have had to resort to moving him into care.

Now I know in my head that I've nothing to feel guilty about, however, the feelings in my heart are an other matter entirely.

LL - i can understand where you are coming from on this one.
my mum needed to go into a nursing home a few years back. it was even worse as i was working in a care home myself. also my children were stll at school. luckily her GP managed to convince me that no matter how much i wanted to care for mum at home it would be impossible for me to manage. like yourself my strategy for coping with my negative feelings was to work them off. later on i decided to do some OU study mainly health and social care courses. as well as being useful for my work it helped me achieve some degree of closure over some of the issues.
Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself ;)

    Hello Ladies,

    Congratulations Elfen and Willow:j:j
Bitsy, luv Luna, I am also still growing into my flabby skin ;):rotfl:

Hugs to all that need them, congrats to all that are doing well.

We have been snowed in for the past week  I was prepared but I was going stir crazy as well as eating to much through boredom:( Yesterday O/H drove (gingerly) us into the nearest town for more supplies :rotfl:Main roads not too bad but the small lanes still scary  freezing temps slowing down the thaw!
Sore derriere (sp) from slipping on the drive yesterday, sore knee and elbow from falling in the kitchen today, anyone got a spare zimmer I could borrow :doh::rotfl:

:hello: LW, sorry to hear you are in so much pain at the moment!

Twinnie, while you are in the mood wanna come and clean my place? ;) I agree, the more I do the more I want to do, unfortunately this past week I have been very lazy :o Today that all changes, starting with turning the TV off before 02.00 I cannot believe the mindless carp I have watched this past week :o couch potato be gone!

    Good morning ladies.

Bitsy, Luna is absolutely adorable, I would love a pup, but I don't have the funds and I am not settled anywhere for it to be fair on a dog. In Korea though, they do have cat and dog cafes where you can go and get your fix of cuteness while having a coffee.

Hugs to all those who are feeling down at the moment.

Fedupandskint, well done on being so close to your target weight. :T:j

My fabbing has been just the basics recently, but I have been trying to keep up with it. I have yet another eye infection though, so my eye is in pain, giving me a headache and turning me into a bit of a grouch. Hopefully it should have cleared by tomorrow.

As I am moving back to the UK in May I am not letting myself buy anymore clothes or makeup, and just trying to make use of what I have here. I think as soon as I get back I will revamp my wardrobe, investing in fewer items that fit me well rather than a lot of tat that looks semi decent.

I have also decided to ask one of my friends who is a trained make up artist to come shopping with me and show me how do make the best of what I have got. I know she wont let me pay her for her help, but I will treat her to a nice lunch.

    have a good day everyone.

Fndingmyway I confess when I read that I thought your were gonna say cafes where you can eat cat and dog :o :rotfl::rotfl: nice idea actually although I suspect health and safety would have a field day here.

Did EVOO again last night and a little bit of yoga sun salutation. If I can dodge the pup on the floor I may do some more.

Not feeling totally fabby in my head, time to put more effort into some medication and visualisation. Now just need the peace and quiet to do it :rotfl:

  • Good morning ladies

Right today I mean business - I haven't exercised properly in weeks so today will most definitely get back on track and get moving and stretching.

So ladies join me - let's go for it - join in and be my virtual gym bunny - let's kick a**.

Bitsy - Love Luna by the way - no excuse now for lots of lovely long w-a-l-k-i-e-s

    Twinnie - it's called an on-off button:rotfl::rotfl:

Today will be said exercise - some shopping needs to be done - which might just necessitate popping my head round a few chazza shop doors;), a trip to the wood-merchants - oh I know how to live.

But first - a nice bath - some serious slathering - my skin feels like parchment. Also need to phone dentist :eek: to replace a filling which dropped out last night - no I wasn't chewing toffees.

Today I will also start tackling my desk drawers :eek:and what I laughingly call my filing system.

    Busy busy day ahead.

Re - feeling low - sometime ago we used to post three positives things each day. I think we should go for that again - let's see if we can lift those spirits.

Don't worry if you cant think of 3 - just make it 1. Here's mine

    1. Had a nice long natter with DS1 on the phone last night. It's nice to know that my boys still find me fun and interesting to talk to or be with.

    2. DS2 now has a "Laydee" - she is lovely. He is very smitten - fingers crossed.

    3. I realised yesterday that I have not had to resort to painkillers or stomach protecting drugs for well over two weeks now.

No painkillers means no rebound headaches, plus I'm managing to control my stomach problems just by watching what I eat. All good stuff.

See frump to fab works. Healthing eating, more sleep, a little r&r, a bit of TLC - just give it time and watch it weave it's magic.

Now for that exercise .............and that phone call to the dentist. :(

Right, we're going for the hair dye tonight. Mr LW will, as always, help me, but he's said he's game to up the ante and try and actually apply the colour, which he hasn't done before; usually, he prepares the stuff, and helps me raise my hands high enough and I apply the colour myself.

We'll eat dinner first (nut loaf and roast root veg), then he'll do his WiiFit, then we'll tackle my hair. *Note to self - get him to take a little bit off the ends first, to tidy it up.;)

I'll dose up on Oramorph beforehand, and then it'll be a question of gritting my teeth rather than screaming if/when the pain gives me a jolt.:D

    Wish us luck!:D

Bratz I don't do hugs in RL, but I can offer a Wolfy cyber-(((HUG))) and hope you feel less stressed soon.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Twinnie - it's called an on-off button:rotfl::rotfl:

Found it!:rotfl::rotfl: Honestly, if you ask me what I'd 'watched' I could not tell you:( However I do remember the program about hoarding I watched last night, shocking but quite sad.

LW, I hope you and O/H manage the hair colouring without to much discomfort?

FMW, what a lovely idea rather like pat dogs in UK? Animals can be a great comfort but, only if you like them.

Bitsy, H & S in the UK has just gone crazy IMHO We are living in litigious (sp) times!

Have a good day everyone....LL phone the dentist

Hi everyone, I feel really out of the loop it's been so long since I've been on. Okay, four days? not that long but it feels like an age!
I seem to be feeling a bit better with regards to the sudden allergies. Ditching wheat didn't help so I'm back on the bread. Then friday I had a horrible reaction to a woman at work (she has cats, guess it's that), my eyes watered off my mascara, got through two loo rolls for my nose and by the end of the day it had made me really light headed and my blood pressure really low. I felt like I was really drunk all night and kept smacking body parts off walls and throwing things that I tried to pick up :rotfl: I wasn't nearly as bad at work today but I've still got the docs on wednesday!

I'm back to fabbing today, have added a few teeny tiny highlights in the hair around my face. Unlike most fair people I never got lighter hairs along my hairline so I have faked them as it should help make me look more alive.
My skin is slowly recovering from the mini-breakout I had a few weeks ago but I still don't feel comfortable without foundation. I read an interesting article at work today about how it takes time for skin to properly recover and heal after a breakout and rushing it with harsh products does more harm than good.
I have a £50 voucher for Escentual.com which I'll spend on some cleanser and hopefully moisturiser/tinted moisturiser. If anyone can recommend any brands they sell there it will be much appreciated :) I have such sensitive skin and I'm sick of it, I can't use most high street products. I've been researching and testing lots of department store foundations but none are quite right, the best I've come up with so far is mixing my mineral foundations and concealers in with the appropriate moisturisers. Maybe I should bring it out as a brand for problem skin- mix your own :D

I realise I've waffled on A LOT! I'm going to read the last 10 pages or something or posts whilst I eat dinner then I'll be back. Maybe with some Hs too :D

Well my fabbiness today was wearing high heel shoe boots with a skirt today for work for the first time ever. Laydeee like today. Got a nice compliment about my earrings too. Then made myself go out for a run aftera run after work. Quite hard going after a week and a half off. Pleased I did it and will aim for 3 runs this week.

Tomorrow fabness will be shoeboots again, nice earrings and skirt with neat and tidy jumper. Plus tellung myself I will come home and tidy up 2 rooms to free up the weekend.

Off now to do an hour of study
