I'm still here :hello:
My hip is still playing up a bit. It's being stubborn, it's refusing to do the last little bit of healing
Loads of stress at the moment, from son's ex. Can't say much on an open forum, but basically she begged him to go back to her, he refused and she decided to get revenge in a big wayWill reveal more when it's all over.
The worry has brought out my eczema (it only appears when I'm stressed), and I've been living on coffee, cigs, wine and chocolate. Which is probably making my skin worse but I don't care.
One good thing though - I had an interview yesterday and within a couple of hours I had a phone call to say I'd got the job
Hey Tru, hope the hip is soon completely healed, take it easy on that score.
It always happens, just when we think it is save to go back in the water BAM! I hope the eczema soon clears up but I do like your stress control (except the cigs) method
Great news about the job :j:j when do you start?
Take care x0 -
podperson what's match betting? I've done private tutoring for maths and art in the past but private tutoring isn't popular where I live now, people prefer the classroom style environment tuition centres. I did work at one for a while but I was travelling an hour each way for three hours of work and only getting £7 an hour when the kids paid £20!
tru congratulations!
Evening everyone. How's the fabbing going on this cold, cold day?
I had some more of my toe curling drinks when I got in from work about 4ish, a blueberry, spinach and yogurt smoothie and a glass of beetroot and lemon juice. I won't bother trying to convince anyone they're tastyI plan to spend much of this evening hiding from the cold in a steaming hot bathroom, massaging, exfoliating and moisturising face, body and hair.

F is for Frugal but still fab. How?
Make up and toiletries - sort through and organise what you already have so all to hand. Be ruthless and dont buy more if you have something to use instead. free sample sizes for using for holidays or weekends away. ask politely for a sample of foundation to try at home before purchasing.
Accessories- plan an organise and maintenance session so everything is clean and neatly stored.
Home hair colour - make one box do 2 sessions. use half the amounts and mix in small bowl. keep lids tightly closed to store for next time. dont forget the patch test each time. works for me although my hair is shoulder length.
What is your own tip for Frugal but still fab?Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself0 -
Carebabe, I think i might be having a frugal fabness moment!
I always No7 skincare but am a bit less loyal when it come to cleanser - you only wash it down the drain, right?;)
I recently picked up a cleanser in Sainsbugs for about £3 that was on special offer. I think it might be their own brand or certainly it's the only place I've seen it. The packaging looks a bit like soap and glory.
Well, my skin looks and feel fantastic this week! So good that I'm thinking of going back and trying some of the rest of the range!:j
At about 1/4 the price of No7, it'll be worth doing even if only for some things or for some of the time
Am feeling a bit of a wreck tonight. I have a stiff (frozen?) shoulder, a painful hand (feels like I have fallen on it but I haven't) and a sore hip (probably from being curled up on the sofa!):(
Mr Sezza had lit the fire though so I'm going to toast here for a bit longer!0 -

I see you're all itching to know how I got on...
Well it wasn't exactly what I expected... I had to build a bridge out of string, sellotape, newspaper and elastic bands. Seriously. I think I did alright in the one to one interview and the bit where I had to sell a picture to my group but not so sure about the other sections.
I'm also glad I made an effort with my appearance, (I blowdried my hair and took my nail varnish off!) someone turned up with half faded blue and purple hair. Now I would've thought this was pretty cool if I'd seen her on the street (and it wasn't faded) but for a job interview it was just silly.
I'm currently wearing one glove and a pair of armwarmers made out of socks. I might cut the top of a finger on my unworn glove so I can wear both while using the laptop. I have one spare glove coz I lost one of the first pair of these gloves so I can wear the spare one with the uncut one when I go out. Does that make sense? I'm gonna post pictures on my blog when I do this to make it clearer anyways...
I find out whether I have the job or not on the 17th and from what I've heard there are 40 positions and 160 applicants but I'm not so sure about the 40 positions, maybe more like 20?
Hope you're all okay, haven't read through the latest posts yet so I dunno what's been happening. Bye for nowSavings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
Hi folks. Just done my first ever OCM cleanse. It has taken my make up off really well. I just used some Grapeseed Oil as it was handy but will make up a blend for myself to use tomorrow. How often is reccommended? Do people do this daily? Or twice daily - morning and evening? I read in previous threads that it works better if you steam your face first so I did that too. Will be intersting to see how my skin is after a week or two.
Just been going through some of the earlier posts in this thread and realise I need get my head out of my backside and focus on taking care of myself for at least some part of each day no matter how down I may feel. I find music useful to lift my spirits. Been listening to Flo Rida's 'Good Feeling' while doing my cleanse tonight.
So tomorrow, I am challenging myself to get up and do some Yoga and start my running made easy programme. Oh, and do another OCM if we are meant to do it daily - advice please??0 -
Thanks for filling us in on progress willow. Sounds as if you did ok, so fingers crossed and it's all valuable experience.
allie, I think OCM is only recommended about twice a week but it does depend on what sort of skin you've got. It can be quite drying. I'm convinced it's helping clear my pores so I'll do it again at weekend.
I was thinking today that the wardrobe planning has gone hand in hand with being in 'work' mode more just recently. It's two things in that: I feel it's essential to look good for business meetings to do with impressions, confidence, owing it to clients and myself etc. Also I sort of put on a uniform of fairly formal clothes, especially a jacket which always makes me feel businesslike. That brings me to the fact that I need to work harder at planning casual and smart casual outfits. This week's priority has been warm things!;)
Sorry to hear about the little one MrsW it must be devastating for the family. Good to hear all your other news.
I'm off to bed, I've slept a little better this week so I'm trying to stick with the habit!0
