Tru, where are you? How is the hip?I hope all is well with you?
My hip is still playing up a bit. It's being stubborn, it's refusing to do the last little bit of healing
Loads of stress at the moment, from son's ex. Can't say much on an open forum, but basically she begged him to go back to her, he refused and she decided to get revenge in a big wayWill reveal more when it's all over.
The worry has brought out my eczema (it only appears when I'm stressed), and I've been living on coffee, cigs, wine and chocolate. Which is probably making my skin worse but I don't care.
One good thing though - I had an interview yesterday and within a couple of hours I had a phone call to say I'd got the jobBulletproof0 -
Morning all,
Mrs W - hope they aren't frazzling you too much, last day today? Think you need a treat or something this weekendSounds like you're getting back focused on the plan as well - what kind of business are you are OH looking at (or that is being kept quiet for the moment?)
Adelight - that is a lot of fruit, think you might be on your own with the beetroot juice thoughJust to chip in on the money making - at the moment am doing a mix of stuff as well, selling things, mystery shops, surveys (I agree they don't make much but every little helps!), matched betting, I rent out my parking space as I don't use it. Also have some things in the pipeline am trying to get sorted for later in the year - what talents/skills do you have?
LL - glad all your tests came back ok, nothing stopping you nowSome nice bargins as well.
Maman - must admit have also been letting things slip a little, dashing round like a mad thing it's hard to fit things in sometimesbut I agree planning ahead is probably the way to go. I do love my lists, it's just the sticking to them :rotfl:
Carmen - think that most definately counts as exercise! It has been much colder today, am next to a canal and it had half frozen, not solid but bits of floating ice - was so funny watching the ducks floating along on them and then plopping off the endThe book is going ok, am finding the 25-30k bit is dragging a little, I think because I'm not entirely sure how this bit should be going - might cheat and skip ahead a little :rotfl:
Tru - sorry you're being stressed out at the moment, but yay on the new job :j
Anyway did have a fairly relaxed night last night, caught on my America's Next Top Model (one of my guilty pleasures!) and managed about a 1000 words on the book. OH ended up annoying me a little, I was whinging earlier about him lending out my dvd to some of his friends that I didn't know and that were rather annoying and rude when they came round (well I thought they were anyway, everyone else seems to think they were fine and 'just a bit drunk'). Anyway he popped round to see them, got my dvd back - which was good - but then asked them round on Friday night - not so good. *sighs* apparently I'm very unreasonable not to be happy about this
Moneywise, must go put some more bets on today, and my ebaying is rather annoying me, all my items have about 6-8 watchers but no bids :mad:0 -
Good Morning Ladies
Today's "F's"
Flirting & Fun
We all need Fun in our lives. Build some into your day. Silly, giggly times with your family and friends. If you're not seeing anyone today watch a funny film or TV programme, read a funny story.
Flirting is Fab. It doesn't have to be sexual - just friendly and for fun. It can be just a bit of banter or a little joke.
As an aside to this.
For those of you who are looking for a Fella - forget internet dating, nighT clubs, bars - try a business seminar.
There was some seriously hot totty at my weekend seminar and I had a great time flirting and having fun.
NO I AM NOT ABOUT TO BE UNFAITHFUL TO MY HUSBAND. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN FINDING ANOTHER MAN. IT WAS JUST HARMLESS FUN.:rotfl::rotfl:
Even if I was interested most of them were young enough to be my son.:(
So - you unattached ladies, looking for lurve, get out there. There's still plenty of Fish waiting to be hooked. I sat next to and flirted outrageously with a gorgeous guy, 35, Asian, 6ft plus, impeccably turned out, beautiful manners, charming, witty and a barrister. What's not to like.:rotfl:
Forgiveness
During the past few days I've had a few phone calls from some of those fair-weather friends who vanished when OH got sick. Obviously the grapevine has gone into overdrive. Of course they have all expressed their sympathy etc.
I have decided to overlook their lack of support - it's not their fault if they are emotional featherweights. They are what they are and I just need to accept that. Not everyone is a tower of strength.
I have decided to let the anger and resentment go - to forgive. It's surprising how much better I feel about them now.
I won't forget of course. It's obvious they can't be depended on. From now on I shall think of them as charming acquaintances and leave it at that. If we meet socially then that's fine - I won't expect anything else.
I've come to realise that Forgiveness is a very powerful thing. Bearing a grudge is like having a canker in the soul. Forgiving them makes me feel a better person.
I've decided that those who have picked up the phone deserve to be forgiven, they've proffered the olive branch so I will accept it. Those who don't bother - well I won't go through life hating them - I'll just quietly drop them, no fuss, no scenes.
Time for a healthy breakfast, some fabbing, some more paperwork and phone calls, some ironing and then off to visit OH.
PP - well done on the 1000 words.
Mrs W - good luck with the business venture - can you share your ideas yet or is it top secret:rotfl: I too hope you are feeling less frazzled.
Tru - sorry to hear about the hip and your family worries. Chin up.
Willow - how did the interview go.
Have a fantastic day.0 -
One good thing though - I had an interview yesterday and within a couple of hours I had a phone call to say I'd got the job
well done! i hope your son gets everything sorted soon too.
I've woken up today with a sore throat. desperately praying it doesn't turn into tonsillitis. last time i had it i had a 3 day stay in hospital because my doctors didn't believe me when i said i was really bad and needed an emergency appt to see if i needed antibiotics on the fri of a bank holiday weekend. i was admitted and put straight on drips the sunday evening.
I'm going to have a duvet day i think. I've got to go to cadets later but oh well.0 -
Good Morning Ladies!
Well I am as Frazzled as a Fraggle! thank goodness work is slightly less frantic today- just the one irritating client so far- one who only confirmed details yesterday evening and is now chasing for his Return....thank goodness my Super Secretary is on hand to fend off the calls:D:eek:!!!! Whilst at first it felt really odd to have a secretary and I always felt weird asking her to do things for me- she is an absolute star who keeps my head above the water and is one of life's happy people wish there were more like her around!
So much going on at the mo- some sad news last night unfortunately the tests on DH's neice (18mths and living in LA) didn't come back as we were hoping, she has an Ocular Tumor and the prognosis isn't so goodso little we can do from here but send messages of love and support- MIL and her sis ( granny to the little one) are heading over next week to give them a hand- think I mentioned this before, but D (DH's Cousin) is the only one who isn't unwell at the mo- his wife is having surgery this week and their little boy is very ill too but we are not sure yet what is wrong...put's my moaning into perspective somewhat! I so wish there was something we could do to help- wish I go go and give them all lots of hugs - I'll have to ask MIL to give them extra squeezes from us...
Adelight that's definately a lot of Fruit! one thing i do miss as I did enjoy my fruit but I have to be careful how much I eat in one go although is'k ok if i make smoothie with natural yogurt and maybe munch on some oats and seeds etc just before...hmm you've given me an idea for breakfasts!
LL Glad to hear you got the all clear! must be a releif to know things are ok on that front! you're posts are sounding really positive at the moment full of energy and plans- can you send some to me please?:D
Interesting F's today- Flirty- well it always gives you a little lift doesn't it? and it's harmlessFun we all need a bit more of that in our lives don't we? So easy to get caught up in the day to day hum drum
Forgiveness- well if you can then that's a great thing to be able to do- carrying around that negativity hurts you I think, wears you down and eats away at you. Whilst I've let go of the anger I felt at those who hurt/attacked/used me as an emotional punching bag when I was at my lowest I'm not sure I've yet forgiven the worst ones...I'm getting there though I don't hate/feel angry any more I'm just indifferent to them they have no place in my life anymore I'm polite civil when I need to see/speak to them but there is no more- can't be when there has never been an apology or even an admission that their behaviour was disgusting....maybe I should be a bigger person...but no one's a saint least of all me:p
SezzaGirl- Go you with all those Fabulous F's!!! I do think we often need to take stock in Feb- once the novelty of a new year has worn off and we find our enthusiasm for all our plans has drooped a bit!
Sparkles- well done on still going for that run! hope your feet feel suitably fab after their pamper now! feel slightly guilt at hiding under fleece blanket last night now- well I think I shall use your progress to motivate me this month!
EvilSquid- well done with the weigh in- you must be doing something right!
Maman- Hello! don't worry we all have period like that- the good news is that as you maintained your routines for day to day you'll be Fabulous again in no time!
Carmen- thanks you have no idea how much I'm loning for that holiday right now! and all that chopping is definately exercise to me!!! we are on a steep hill too...fingers crossed we should be ok though- have to start parking further away on a flatter road though:D
Tru- Hello! was wondering how you were! Sorry to hear things have been tough- but great news on the job! hope the other things get better for you soon x
PP Thanks- I definately need something! lol won't be the chilled out weekend tho we are going up to My Mums for my aunt's 50th - but on the plus side I will get plenty of exercise dancing to Soca and reggae tunes all night and will be nice to catch up with everyone...must plan Fabulous outfit to best show off weight loss so far;):D! and good that you got you DVD back- but if your OH knows you didn't get on with them why on earth would he invite them without at least discussing it first- I would be p'd off if DH invited people round without mentioning it to me - it's OUR home so we both need to be happy about it never mind if they were people I also didn't like!!! you are so busy all the time too imo and sorry if this is over the line a bit but I think it's a bit selfish NOT to consider you first before inviting people round...
phew! this is a long message!!!
as for the business bit hard to explain it really ( and funny you should ask LL but a lot of DH's work is in fact Top Secret:D but this isn't so ok) DH is a research scientist and specialises in optics and lasers- a lot of his work revolved around building the equipment needed to carry out the experiments- air locks and the like ( please don't ask for more detail this is the limit of my understanding:o!!!) it's very precise work and he really enjoys this part of the job- BUT his main issue at work ( ex Civil Service Co) is the Bureaucracy and nonsense that means he does a lot of paperwork and pencil pushing which he hates- there are a couple of companies is the US which sell this equipment made up for a large profit- and the applications for this are huge- think anywhere that uses lasers- beauticians opticians NHS etc etc etc . What he would like to do is set up a company that just makes the equipment and installs it - he is looking into what kind of market there is for this and how feasible it is- the idea is to see if he can get ONE order first take some leave from work( the build time is 2 weeks) - build and fufill the order which would give him enough money to get the business going...the idea is that I would then run the "business" side managing book-keeping /records etc as that's my background free-ing him to the practical work he loves....
now we are is super early idea stages and I'm aware that it will be a long hard slog even that it may not happen...but the potential benefits for us if we CAN do it are Huge- he would need to make two supplies a year and that would enable me to stay at home for a while- we are thinking of trying for a baby soon and this is something I would like to be able to do whilst they are small if we are lucky. It could mean that DH is doing something he loves...and that I have the options to do the same....it's a bit scary thinking about it all and the scaredy cat in me thinks it's too risky don't rock the boat....but ....we are young(ish) and I think we should at least TRY and see if this is something we could really do...we'll see!
right well back on topic..... fabbing nil today so far, but am rocking a cool just below the knee brown chord skirt, boots, teal jumper and brown/cream herringbone jacket today looks better than it sounds honest! skirt and jacket CS bargains too so happy with that- my fabbing for the day will be a nice dinner and SLEEP!
right ladies I have waffled as much as I can so will get back to the last ( please please please) of the stragglers!
Hope you are all haveing a fabulous day!

Hope you are feeling better soon.. Cyber chicken soup on its way!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Just back from a private pilates session. 1-1 for an hour for £10 - bargin! And the teacher was so great that I signed up for her class. (The £10 was a one off to see if I liked the pilates and her and wanted to join her class). As one of my goals was to make friends (another f) this year I'm kinda hoping that this is two strikes - one for getting out and building pals and one for the fabbing.
Now back to work ... I've really mismatched my diary and the available time I have and am feeling very stressed about work and the fact that I'm not getting to ride either. The pilates is sort of about improving my body control and fitness so I ride better...so actually its a 3 ticks in one - but heck this work stuff is somewhat out of control. More later hopefully.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

afternoon all.
tru - congrats on the job, you must be delighted
I did attempt to fab this morning before I went and met a friend for coffee - painted my nails and when they were half dry (you that tacky sort of way?) my cat jumped on my lap and knocked over my coffee. Of course cleaning up ruined my nails so I had to rush to take off the polish before running out the door and didn't get time to do the most thorough job.
Will need to redo them properly tomorrow before work.carpe diem

Hello everyone,
thanks for keeping all the inspiring posts going, and hugs to those feeling ill.
Not much fabbing earlier in the week cos of a hospital visit, but today painted my nails and booked a hair appointment :eek: Its at a hairdressers I haven't used before, which I always dread, but as its local it should be easier to get into a regular routine of appointments if I like it.
Hospital have decided I should have an operation later this month so fabbing plans for the next couple of weeks must include getting some snazzy new PJs and checking I have nice shower gel etc for going in. Also think this brings forward the feet improvement programme as I may not be able to reach them when I'm recovering :rotfl:
Take care everyone
