Ashamed of myself yesterday as went out with hair that really needed washing/styling. It was so dry I thought I'd leave it but never again. Did a deep condition for hair today and another OCM. I can see an improvement on chin but stll problems with nose. Are those strips any good?

the blackhead ones? i use those, they do get a bit addictive! i have been known to spend a good 5 mins inspecting the strip after under a good light to see the gunk I've just got out of my pores! :o

WW aww, you poor thing.:( Dogs do know when you're not well, I'm certain of it. Stay on the sofa as long as you need to (OK, with a clear path to the bathroom); lots of Get-Well vibes coming your way.:o

I actually managed to bung on some war-paint to go shopping; well I couldn't have Mr LW wheeling me round W@itrose looking like he'd been trying out a new raising the dead spell now, could I?:rotfl:

I need to make some biscuits or cakes - there's nothing in the tin for Mr LW's lunchbox next week. Need to find some Energy (good E word, that):D first, though. I could do to make another nut loaf to slice and freeze for future dins, too.:o

Good evening all and WW hope you're feeling more human now and much better

what have I been up to? Dilly dallying about the assignment and procrastinating away so this is my last time on here for the next few hours as I need to knuckle down bigstyle

Well I haven't stuck to my kcal allowance much at all this last week and today is the same but I did run over 8 miles yesterday and have done a lot of walking today so hopefully that'll burn it off some more!

And I put on my grey denim pencil skirt I bought just over a year ago and haven't worn since the beginning of December and its now too big on the waist! Now that was a surprise as I'm still the same weight as then. Cinched it in with a belt and covered up with a jumper that now fits better than last year now waistline has gone in more than out.

Hoping to get out for a run tomorrow for an hour in the morning if the weather's ok and then try and stay on track diet wise to shift either an inch from my waist or a lb for weigh in day next week - hmm!

  • I want to know if this sounds ok - remember I am a 55 year old who is totally out of touch what is right these days

I am going out for an meal tonight - So I have a deep pink top this one , I like this top as it gives me the illusion of not being big and low on top as it covers all the way down loosely and plan to wear it with white jeans that have gold detail on all the pockets - dinner is being held in a hotel, jeans even close up do not look like jeans its only the pockets at the back that shows they are jeans. Do you think they will be ok or should I just wear my black trousers, picked the jeans up in sale for £2 on Thursday in Bonmarshe. If ok what colour shoes should I wear. Had hair done all in curls like last week so that is sorted. Crowd we are having the meal with is a mixed bunch from very rich to ordinary workers like us. I don't want to be over dressed but don't want to be under dressed either. Not been to this meal for a few years but usually no-one dresses up fancy but all look casually smart but just not sure if jeans are just to casual.....can anyone advise please.

Also should I wear red or deep pink lipstick ( only colours I have) and what colour eye shadow, eyes green and hair chestnut, skin pale?

    Thanks

Wow! that's a lovely top, what a gorgeous colour.

Personally I wouldn't wear white. Not because they're jeans but because I wouldn't wear white at this time of year. I'd go for the black trousers and also black shoes. I'd wear the pink lipstick. I'm boring with eyeshadow, I'd wear cream and brown. Have a lovely time!

Eyebrows - making the best of this feature is a swift and reasonably inexpensive way of giving ones features a lift and contributes to a well groomed look. waxing threading or just a tidy up with tweezers. experiment with an eyebrow pencil to achieve the effect you want.

A friend agreed to tidy up my brows last week. overplucking in my younger years has taken its toll but a few subtle strokes with the brow pencil and you would never know.

I agree, that's a lovely top - wear it with black trousers like maman said and then try the white ones in the later spring and summer for another version of this outfit.

You could wear pink or black shoes, a nice pink lipstick and neutral eyes again like maman, creamy shade first then a bit of metallic brown would look nice

Hi there, I am 53 so understand what you mean! I would always overdress rather than underdress, so I think I'd go for the black trousers - just a bit more of an eveningy feel. Love the top btw, looks gorgeous, so def pink pink lips I would say. For eyes, I would just go smoky grey or brown. Oh, and don't forget some earrings.

Prepareathome -I think black trousers too - only because its in a hotel - if it was a pub I think you could get away with the white jeans but for some reason a hotel says a bit more dressed up to me:) Hope its a good night.

Carebabe - you've just reminded me that my eyebrows need doing. A lady in a nail salon did them for me last time for £6 a did a really good job so I'll go back there I think. I was planning on getting them done this weekend but being ill has stopped me going, even though I feel loads better now she'd have to get close up and I wouldn't wish this bug on anyone!

I did manage to have a bath, defuzz, do a face scrub and dry hair and put a bit of slap on today. Also popped to Mr T's to get enough antibacterial spray, wipes etc to clean a hospital and have done the whole house in short bursts (still absolutely kn*ckered). Its sparkly clean now - die germs die!

If I can force myself to file my nails and redo toenails tonight I'll be almost as good as new.......
