Hi all,
welcome to all the new additions. Hope everyone had a lovely christmas. Had a lovely day all the family together. DS bought us a large plasma tv which was very much appreciated although I had to tell him I don't need expensive pressies, and he shouldn't spend so much on us,whilst still expresssing thanks so as not to appear ungratefull.
Haven't done a lot of fabbing but did have
1) a soak,
2) used hot cloth and
3)derma roller last night
still have a mountain of chocs to eat though so any diet changes will have to wait.
Have decided the one thing I must be in the new year is more positive and at the moment I am feeling so much better so hopefully I can carry this on.
Had a huge row with him indoors just before christmas and realised just how much his attitudes have coloured my opinions of some things and people, even though I didn't realise it the constant chipping has had an effect. Made me think of things in a different perspective and I'm hoping this is a turning point in my outlook on things.
My aim for this week is to continue to
1) dermaroll and
2)cleanse
3) and moisturise properly.
See you all soon.xFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

I'm just calling in briefly too. Waiting for machine load to end then going out for some air (I think a walk by the sea).
Thanks for sharing my pleasure at SIL's comments.
I think tidy eyebrows (followed up with light pencil) make such a difference. Personally I favour an occasional professional wax and then keep them tidy myself for quite a few weeks afterwards. I know others on the thread go for threading or diy.
Bitsy, I agree with you about fashion. There's no way I want to be a slave but I do want to give some signals that I'm aware of trends as well as what suits me. And what suits would depend on age as well as shape. I think you've only got to look around and see women who should know better in leggings!:rotfl:It's not the leggings as such as I think they can look good with dresses/skirts/tunics but for some 'it definitely does look big in this!';)
On the accessories front, I'd be certain to start with an audit of what you've got. That would be what you've got in your wardrobe generally and what you already have in the way of accessories. I always find things I've forgotten. I don't really wear costume jewellery but I think my first choice would be scarves. I'm sure there are other places but if you don't want to spend much it's worth looking in Peacocks. I find with scarves you can wear black (or other dark top) but still have colour round your face to brighten your skin.
Back later, have a good day all.0 -
I too was thinking of scarves maman. I have a black one and a White one and a multi coloured one. No peacocks near me unfortunately
I love the idea of hats but don't think they suit me and I hate having "hat hair" :rotfl:
I'd like some funky jewellery but have to be careful what I wear as nickel makes me come out in hives if I wear it too long!
Adelight if you have any clothes blogs you could recommend I'd love to read them.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

3)derma roller last night
bitsy i don't think there are many good fashion bloggres who aren't basically models and can pull off anything! surely someone here must know some?? i can only think of cherry menlove and a model reccomends but they are more general life style blogs. the zara, whistles, warehouse, reiss, mango lookbooks are really good for inspiration.
ETA: Look for "campaign" "looks" "feature" "trends" and it will have maybe a dozen different outfits, I like the more pricey websites as they are often more classic looks but then go and buy stuff from cheaper places. ie i'd look at aw11 http://www.whistles.co.uk/fcp/categorycollections/collections/aw11?resetFilters=true and then buy a similar retro patterned blouse from somewhere cheaper that will go with plain skirts and trousers, looking at ss12 on the site might decide to go for a polka dot or a pale print. Make/buy/customise an embellished necklace or collar with lots of pearl and gem beads, this updates a plain outfit. A waist belt with a nice buckle(or use a brooch) would change the shape of a plain dress and nod towards that mad men look people are going mad for. A statement piece like a patterned skirt or blazer can go with plain clothes.
Make sure everything fits into your existing wardrobe, ie if you wear a lot of red colours don't buy a blue blazer. Check that the cut suits your body shape. Outfits look more pulled together if everything is a similar tone or colour in different shades, or one colour but different textures and maybe one print. http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/Clothes%20Articles/ColorSIMPLE.htm is quite on colour tips. Basically if you are wearing shapes and colours that suit you and the colours go well together you'll look good. Bring in a fashionable accessory or one piece of clothing and the outfit will look current. Phew, don't know if that makes senseLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Bitsy, do you have a Primark nearby? They always have loads of nice on-trend scarves...quite a few are also in my bedroom0 -
I'd like to join in too please:)
I badly need to lose weight, almost all my excess weight goes on my stomach and if I relax the muscles I could easily pass for 9 months pregnant (handy if there aren't any seats on the bus). It's really hard to find clothes to fit my ridiculously out of proportion shape, size 12 jeans are ok but I need at least size 16 tops to try and cover the belly - which are then too big for my chest!:o It's nearly 8 years since I last lost weight so it's about time I did something about it!
Elfen I'm the same as you, with depression, so hard to bother doing things like cleaning your teeth regularlyI want to be able to borrow my kids' metal clothes to go to rock clubs/gigs in, instead of big baggy men's t shirts. And I don't care that I've got less than a year of being "thrilling" left
Age IS just a number:p
Plan is, for now - to start doing a bit of exercise, working up to getting back into doing my Davina DVD which I used to enjoy, get on the exercise bike again, and look after my skin and teeth better.:) And finish up the Xmas sweets and chocolates (nearly done!) so I can start eating healthily again:)0 -
Well Im just absolutely FABULOUS darlings........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well not quite but I am getting there - slowly.
An idea.....why dont you give away your leftover chocolates or throw them - not MSE I know but maybe a bit healthier? Or freeze them and then get them out one at a time?I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Molly, I just can't bear to chuck them!! I only have a few Allsorts (only one who likes them), one chocolate, and a few Jelly Babies left so I'll plod on with them!:D0
