Bitsy, what a beautiful furry heartbeat you have there
It is unfortunate about their hunting instincts
You will have so much pleasure from her other antics they will override the little pressies she brings you! There is nothing like a cat snuggled up on my lap :heartpuls One of mine brings in field mice, vowls (sp) birds and even little bats in the summer! He does not kill them but unfortunately the shock does most of the time..sniff! My other one eats everything he catches _pale_ which is mostly spiders and such around the house!
While my two like to go for a walk It is too slow to burn off any calories :rotfl:maybe it's time to adopt another dog?
A big welcome to anyone new that I have missed in all these posts.
LW & Adela, sorry I do not understand Skyrim:o is it a game for a PC/PS3 etc?
Tete, I would love a flat tum to go with my longish legs..big sigh!
I have the shape of a canary..ho hum.
Whenever I do OCM I always have a small break out. I then don't do it again until it clears, maybe I need to persevere until all impurities are cleaned away?
Itching to hear how Willows' interview went.
Pod, :hello:even though my toenails grow quite quickly that black spot seems to creep up to the top of my nail:(
Glad to hear your ebaying is paying off
Adelight, the carrot cake sounds yummy, I was going to try the black banana cake (sans chocolate) I saw on Nigel Slaters show.
I am going to think about how my minds eye see's some of you, be back later....0 -
Bitsy, se posts.[/B]
Itching to hear how Willows' interview went.
Me too, hope she gets the job.
I am going to think about how my minds eye see's some of you, be back later....
Hope you can't envisage me - I really do look awful at the moment. I tell myself it's only stress and that things will improve by and by. Problem is I'm not very patient. I want instant results. (Which will take me nicely to the first of our "E's" in a minute).
But first a quick update - went to GP last week re the chest pains and after a good check over he confirmed what I had suspected - no damage to the heart it's just stress. So hopefully once things all settle down that should sort itself out ok.
After a bit of poking and prodding which was agony he pointed out that I have strained the muscles in my sternum - all that lifting and manoeuvring OH. No wonder my chest hurts:rotfl:
Actually it didn't occur to me before but I remember suffering the same problems after having delivered my children. Of course then I was a lot younger and my strained muscles recovered within a couple of weeks. Possibly there is a bit of weakness there.
Still at least it confirmed my own self diagnosis and that long term I'm still in pretty good nick:D.
Fabbing today - well I went for my three yearly mammogram so I guess you could count that. Still not found my tweezers.
Popped into Sainsbugs and picked up a fab pair of tan leather knee-high boots - reduced to £30. If anyone is needing to stock up on vitamins I noticed that there was a 3 for 2 offer on. Also H&B have been doing their 1p sale again.
Loving the sound of the spa visit Mrs W.
Anyway time to start the "E"s, put the shopping away, do a quick blitz round, cook dinner, write a couple of letters and cheques (more SS stuff - when will it end).
BTW - I just realised this morning that last Saturday was the 21st which means we are already one sixth of the way through our quest. I'm afraid I've made very little progress this month. Still a fair way to go till Fabness.
Bye for now. x0 -
The Elephant
One bite at a time ....
Some of you have heard this one before so it's really for the benefit of the newbies.
A lovely old boss taught it me. It goes like this ...
Boss - Can you eat an elephant.
Me - No, at least not all in one go.
Boss draws picture of an elephant and then proceeds to mark it out into small sections.
Boss - If you carve up the elephant into individual portions, and put them in the freezer, getting one out each day, could you eat an elephant.
Me - Of course, but I would probably get fed up with eating elephant every day.
Boss - no problem. Allow yourself an elephant free day now and then.
So ladies - whenever you feel beset on all sides and utterly overwhelmed - remember the elephant - just a little every day.
Eventually you will reach your goals.0 -
LW & Adela, sorry I do not understand Skyrim:o is it a game for a PC/PS3 etc?
Mr LW and I do a lot of gaming; we have two PCs that can run games, plus a PS2, Wii and Nintendo DSi.:D
I'd far sooner be gaming than watching television; if the TV is on, I have to be doing something else as well, or I'll be climbing the walls within minutes.:o
I don't do the Massively Multiple Online games though; I prefer it just to be us two, not play online with loads of other people. (OK, I'm anti-social):DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Bit chewy though, elephant??Tete, Whenever I do OCM I always have a small break out. I then don't do it again until it clears, maybe I need to persevere until all impurities are cleaned away?
Maybe that's it - I'm battling both dry and spotty skin at the moment, it's not the easiest!! I'll lay off the oil for a while maybe and will maybe boil my head later on

went for an hours walk with my mum today, round local canal and local fields. was lovely to hear very little but birdsong and our easy conversation. Sun was out, was a lovely way to spent an hour.
And Killer cat doesn't just bring in mice. She once tried to bring in a live pigeon who was nearly as big as her  thankfully I wouldn't fit through the cat flap so thankfully we are spared those sorts of bodies inside unless they are in pieces :rotfl:
I don't do online gaming, too much time online as it is
I do have a Wii though and i am ever so slightly addicted to Lego Batman. probably because its one of the few games Ive ever been able to play :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
 Just calling in very quickly. Thanks for OCM advice, will try the steaming method next. I bought my castor oil in an Asian supermarket.
LL, do reassure your DH that it's not just him losing track of the time! I had exactly the same conversation with someone at the weekend, January seems to have flown by (unless you're waiting for payday I suppose:().
I've done all my routine fabbing today. I'm off out soon to footie so will be focusing more on keeping warm than fab. I'll do my make up though and we have a 30 minute walk each way, so it all helps.
I'm really busy in RL at the moment but managing to keep up with reading (just). You lovely, chatty lot!:A0 -
Body Brilliance comes in a 500g pack; Bodyism website says "20 servings per package" but I think they've incorrectly copy pasted this from other products. Instructions on the packet advise 10g per serving for 50 servings, which makes the product £1.20 per serving. Once I'm finished with this I'll probably try out PHD Diet Whey - higher protein content, slightly less carbs, and only a tiny bit more sugar/fat, probably nowhere near enough to affect results. PHD is much cheaper however, currently available for £42.99 for 2kg from monstersupplements.com with PHD CLA supplements.
Ultimate Clean Probiotic Fibre is 200g, so 20 servings. I'm only going to take this for the first month to give my body a really good kick start, then once I've cleaned up my diet, I may ditch it because I'll be getting my fibre from other foods I eat.
As for Body Serenity... if it works, I'll keep taking it. My job can be very stressful sometimes, and I haven't yet come across any alternatives to this product. It is the most expensive of the three, but I'm ok with that if it really does help in reducing stress.
Will report back on how I get on in the future!
I did a bit of snooping into the Bodyism products as I was quite interested in it. I researched the ingredients and found some much cheaper equivalents that may be helpful.
The Ultimate Clean Probiotic Fibre is basically just psyllium husks which can be bought for much, much less at around £5/250g. http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/whole_psyllium_husks
Body Brilliance powder is mostly microfiltered whey protein concentrate with small amounts of whey protein isolate and a green supplement powder. Plus lots of thickeners/flavourings which make up a lot of the carbs, I suspect it needs a lot of these to hide the greens taste. A good, if not better, protein powder can be bought for much cheaper from almost anywhere. A protein blend also containg caesin or egg proteins could be good as caesin is digested much slower than whey and egg protein has a brilliant amino acid profile. You could buy a really high quality plain protein powder and flavour it with cacao, powdered berries or even... syrup
They can't physically have fitted much green powder into their supplements. Even assuming the non-whey concentrate 20% of body brilliance is green powder, that's still only 5g in each of their serving sizes.
I didn't look into BodySerenity, but looks like a glass of chocolate milk plus a bed-time supplement? I need a de-stress drink too.
http://www.myprotein.com/UK/products/total_protein is a good protein blend with a little added fibre ~35p for a half serving(their servings are shrek sized) containing 23g protein. You could buy several different types of protein powder and create your own blend in a small tub for everyday use. They do WPC80, whey isolate, caesin, egg, pea and organic hemp(for any vegans) and even goat whey! Definitely the best and cheapest protein supplier available in the UK. They also do green tea extract and anything your inner gym bunny could desire
http://www.myprotein.com/uk/products/superveg_xs is a green/vegetable powder similar to that in bodyism ~30p per 8g serving.
or http://www.myprotein.com/UK/products/superfood_xs superfood powder, ~30p per 5g serving. or wheatgrass, spirulina, a serving of any of those would be a good addition to the protein powder.
So that's 65p a serving for a huge helping of anti-oxidants and 24g of mixed release high quality protein vs £3 a serving for Body Brilliance which has 14g protein and less green/anti-oxidant powder.
Grr now I have a monster craving for protein powder!! I should make an order for some plain protein powder to add to my juices and smoothies... don't think i need any greens as I'm eating/drinking at least 10 a day :rotfl: Sorry if my long rambly post bugs anyone. The health freak and money saver in me got together and went wild!
I haven't done any fabbing yet today and I've got my first spot coming in two months  Best get some tea tree oil on it then do some fabbing: writing about protein has really motivated me for my workout tonight, then I'll body brush, have a bath and use my new creams. I got a Nip+Fab set in TK maxx today containing full sizes of Bust Fix, Dry Leg Fix and Tummy Fix for £12, was too good a bargain to pass up so I will use them all religiously and see if they make a difference. Also got some Robanda Vitamin A cream for £4.99, very cheap but looks like it might be good. High concentration of active ingredients and a few rave reviews lurking around the internet, but generally a very low key brand in uber plain packaging. We'll see!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
