    Hi all,

Mrs W - hope you're getting through the tax returns and your girly night goes well :)

WW - hope you had a relaxed night. The swimming sounds fun, keep thinking I must force myself to start going. Also well done on standing up to that rude woman! I must admit I'm quite bad for slinking away and not saying anything and then will be cross with myself and think of what I should have said all the way home

Prepareathome - your hair looks lovely, does it curl like that naturally? I would completely ignore anyone who says you shouldn't wear it long, I'm betting they have very dull hair and are a little jealous! Tbh from your description I find it very hard to believe you can be 'plain' - hopefully with a bit more confidence you will see that as well.

LL - tut, tut on the ticket, turning into a speed demon :rotfl:Re the hair have you tried any of the 'especially for grey' shampoos, don't know what they're like but I know I use a 'for brunettes' one and it really gives the colour a boost and brings out some hightlights. Sounds like a good start on the house fabbing!

Sezza - your outfit sounds lovely :) re the coke vouchers, the ones I'm selling are cinema ones I got off the website and then didn't really need. I have a load of the benefits ones as well but have to admit I don't think they will sell. Might try them on ebay at 2 vouchers for 50p as I know I won't use them, and if they don't go will just post in the discount board. If anyone on here wants one just poke me - £5 off a £20 spend at Benefit.

Willow - a friend of mine swears by Sainsburys hair and nail supplement, in the vitamins sections.

Lovely to see all the upbeat posts and people focusing on their good points. Not done too much today, was late up last night - we had some friends round for a few drinks. OH has annoyed me a little, while he was out getting beer he ran into a guy who has been doing some acting for them the past few weeks and since they were chatting he mentioned that we were having a few drinks tonight if the guy wanted to pop round as they owed him one for the work he'd done. Fair enough - I have no problem with that! He doesn't turn up until about 11.30pm, with his girlfriend and one of his mates in tow, none of whom I've met before. They don't bring any drink of their own and just expect to drink everyone else's and basically take over the place, eg we were playing a game that is 4 players and there were 5 of us so we were all taking turns, they took 3 places and stayed on them all night. They were also going through the dvds, games etc on the shelves and pulling them out, at one of my dvds they were going, 'oh we love this, we haven't seen this in ages, we'd love to borrow this.' It's a fairly rare one and I don't know them so I just sort of shrugged and changed the subject. Anyway I went to bed about 1.30am, didn't phase them as they were still there and extremely loud until about 4.30am. Get up this morning and OH says, 'oh they wanted to borrow your dvd so I let them take it' They had asked again as where leaving and he felt bad saying no  He has no idea why I'm annoyed at this, he says he knows where this guy lives and if he breaks it or something he will buy me a new one! Not really the point imo. Anyway, sorry to rant when people are being all positive :(
Have been out for a mystery shop today so another £5 will be due from that. Have some ebay items ending tomorrow that all have bids on and some matched bets I need to go check on now. So the moneymaking not going too badly.
  • ust a quick question (maybe a daft one) - is anyone aware of any supplements that make your hair grow faster? I'm getting fed up of my half grown out bob - it started at chin length and is now collar length - I want it long again!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hair does grow faster in spring and summer, so along with the vits someone mentioned you should have nice long locks by July......

    Hello everyone,
What lovely positive posts :) except LL's speeding fine ;):rotfl: Your house revamp is going to be fab LL and keep you out of mischief for some time :rotfl:
Sorry your evening was 'spoilt' Pod, it is unfortunate some people need prompting about others feeling. After many years of this kind of hic cups my O/h and I never commit to anything until we check with one anothe , but then we are just getting old and crotchity:rotfl::rotfl:My son loaned some of his home (racing)Video's to a 'friend' and they were never returned (ireplacable..sp) Lesson learned...excuse the pun tee hee!! I hope you get your dvd back?

    Back soon.....

    - is anyone aware of any supplements that make your hair grow faster? .

I've been taking a B complex tab for many years, but a few months ago, I started taking one 1000µg per day of Biotin as well, and can honestly say that my hair has definitely been growing faster!! I bought them in H&B, but I'm just about to embark on ones that are 5000µg each, which I found online, and at a much better price! The good thing about the B vits is that if you take too much, your body just eliminates what it doesn't want/need, without causing any harm.

.....Willow, I also think the blouse with cardigan would look great. Anxiety can raise the body temp so if this does happen you can just slip off your cardy and still look and feel as cool as a cucumber:)
I was in a cooking mood today, made lamb hotpot for O/H, Roasted veg and pasta for me, a bread and butter pud and apple pie! I managed to use up bits that otherwise may have been thrown out :o Just two slip ups....I forgot to put sugar in the puds:eek::rotfl:but I had put a lot of dried fruit in so not a complete disaster, and I of course needed to try some to reassure myself, fine for me but put ice cream with O/H's as he has a sweet tooth!

Well done WW, those kind of people :( thankfully are far and few between and sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, even if it falls on deaf ears!

Well Prepare, you have a lot of positives so just make the best of them

I have never been one to 'see' my positives. I look in the mirror to put on make up, brush teeth and hair and to adjust any clothing that is askew. So I shall repeat what others have told me over the years.
I have nice dark brown eyes (fathers side)
People say "why is your face so wrinkle free, and mine is not? (good genes)
Men often spoke to my breasts, they have been the bane of my life! (front of the queue)
I have nice feet apparently (mothers side) except when I drop cans on my toes and my nails turn black, ho hum.
My hair, when it was long and black and even now when it is slivery white and short (father and mothers side)
But the thing most people say about me is that I have a gentle, positive and calming nature, not sure where that comes from :p:rotfl:
Oh! and I'm going to blame my fathers side for my fat genes :rotfl::rotfl:

    back soon.....

Thanks to everyone for the hair growth advice - it seems that a B complex vitamin might help (anecdotal advice on hair websites too) so I'm off to buy some tomorrow. It can't do any harm anyway.

Just had a nice bath, redone my toenails and filed my broken finger nail and will apply another layer of gradual tanner before bed (can see the difference already).
Had a nice tea of veggie fajitas with sour cream and cheese (not very low fat but yummy and full of vitamins and calcium, notice how I can justify anything!).

Still can't think of many things I like about me - so far have only come up with my high cheek bones and olive skin and nice white teeth, the fact that apparently I don't look 40 and my skin that hasn't really ever had a spot/blemish (have intermittant small patches of psoriasis but never on my face thankfully).
I suppose I have OK boobs for my age (not drooped too much yet) and my back and shoulders are quite nice but my legs are like two cellulite filled tree trunks and I have no ankles to speak off!

Actually there were more good things than I thought there would be!

Podperson - hope you get your DVD back - I'd be annoyed too....

Pod person I'd be fuming too, at their sheer lack of manners and general taking advantage. Shame on your H for not saying no :( thing is if they break it they are not footing the cost of replacing it (assuming you even get it back). Cheeky gits

LW not knowing what you look like I can't point out what I can see but rather perhaps shallow of me I neglected to mention my non physical attributes so maybe we can start there with you? you are so kind and caring, despite your daily pain you always have love and support for other people. You close affinity with animals and your empathy for those that have lost friends over the rainbow bridge. You might not think there is much to like on the outside but there is plenty to like on the inside xx

Adelight honey you are gorgeous. Nuff said xxx

Loving everyone's effort to share their positives, keep 'em coming :D

  • an extra after my hair appointment - I asked hairdresser if she could recommend something that will smooth my hair, it is curly and sometimes a bit frizzy and have bought things but they usually make hair feel not exactly sticky but didn't feel right nor look right, so she got this bottle of stuff and said she would use some on my hair when doing it to show me how well it worked. This she did though not using bottle I was going to buy so I paid for it when leaving along with hair do - £12 but she said you only need a very small amount and used once a week even on my hair length it should last me 6 -9 months. When I go home I read the instructions and found it is activate by heat - either blow drying or straightners - big snag most of the time I leave hair to dry on its own after combing it so phoned today and explained and they said bring it back and Tanya who did my hair would sort out something else. I was to tired today to go out so hubby went and she changed it for some serum stuff which was £14, hubby being hubby said he did not expect to pay any more as he thought £12 was more than enough ( can't take him anywhere) but she said it was perfect for me, just put a bit on and comb or brush it through and to make up for the trouble I had ( what trouble lol) she gave him a bottle of shampoo and a tub of conditioner. She told him as my hair is in great condtion she would normally only recommend a blonde or brunette shampoo as that is all they have to sell to customers, but neither suitable for a redhead so she gave him anti aging shampoo and told him to tell me she wasn't implying I was old, but I had mentioned I had reached menopause and although my hair is better than ever this will if nothing else help it stay that way. I looked up the prices the shampoo is £10 and the conditioner £15 and she refused to take the extra £2 for the serum, so I only paid £25 for hair being done all I paid was my tip to her. So when I go back next week to have hair done for going out I better make sure I tip well. I usually just use Mr S basics shampoo - you get a bit 1lt bottle for 42p and the basics conditioner 50p for 500ml and find it works very well as my hair sticks together but when I use that within a couple of minutes comb goes through it so easily. Maybe I should send hubby to return items more often :)

No fabbing today as to tired except washing face in warm water then putting hydrocortisone cream on it. Well did have shower earlier but just basic wash nothing more, bath out of use till tomorrow or Monday now as put fresh silicone round edge as it was all coming off, so have to wait till its dry.

Face still blotchy but thankfully not as itchy so hopefully will start to clear in next few days.

    Hugs to all

Thanks for the back up guys :D nice to know I'm not being really petty like he's trying to make out. The thing is he knows I don't like lending things out anymore - precisely because I've had one too many times of people not bringing things back. I would never dream of lending his things out to people he didn't know.
Anyway, enough of the negativity! I realised I never did a positives list and am struggling a bit now :o I do quite like my eyes, they are kind of hazel but quite an unusual shade, and I have really dark and thick lashes so can get away without mascara (though look better with it :rotfl:) My hair is nice when I make an effort with it. My skin is quite good, rarely get spots or anything and fairly even, which is lucky as am not a big fan of foundation. Erm, struggling now lol. My gay mate is always telling me I have fab boobs - so must be true :D Also my nails grow really quick so are usually nice and long - a lot of people tell me they're jealous of them, and a lot of people ask if they're fake (??) Ok, am definately stuck now but might have a think later!

Prepare - sounds like you got a bargin :)
