Rant alert!!!!
Just back from T*scos and was chatting away to the nice butcher about cheap meat for dogs (no-one else waiting) when a woman in her late 60s/70s barged over and shouted "are you finished, I don't want to hear you both witter on about dogs" in a very aggressive manner.
The butcher and I looked at each other in disbelief and as he couldn't say anything (he was working) I ended up blurting out "well, excuse me for being sociable! I teach more polite 15 year olds than you!". Then I apologised to the butcher on her behalf, tossed my hair and waltzed off (well as much as you can waltz with a full trolley!).
I saw her again at the till where she was giving the poor lad an earfull too. Some people make me so mad - it doesn't cost anything to be polite and pleasant does it! (she was well dressed and coiffured too, obviously well heeled, not that it means anything with manners).
I was so incensed that I ended up buying myself a jam roly poly :rotfl:and some tulips and gave £2 to the Guide dog collection (maybe pass some good karma on to repay the womans rudeness;)).
I did also pick up a few beautifying bits - just face scrub, bubble bath, face wipes, nice deodorant etc - didn't cost much but made me feel like I was spending something on "me".
Feel much better about myself strangely - the grumpy rude old cow showed me that some things are more important than 10 extra lbs and crows feet!0 -
My best features? This is going to be a very short post.
I love the colour of my eyes, a rich chocolate brown.

I bet there is more than that. your blogger pic shows a pretty face, gorgeous creamy skin and lovely locks. And that's just a head shotI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

This is going to be a very quick post. I have been keeping up with lovely thread but no time to post.
Just to say willow, good luck for your interview.
I'm assuming you have to buy a top. I'd go for one of the long sleeved shirts, whichever fits best. Personally I'd rather buy a separate cardi (more versatile, easier to take off and doesn't ruin your hair) than the combo. I you can't afford both then just wear a coat over your outfit but take it off when you arrive at the venue.0 -

I don't mind my pale skin but my hair's horrid right now! It's my natural colour followed by dark brown then over half of it is black. Trying to grow the black and the bob out. It looks a bit messy so I'm wondering whether to go and get it stripped then dyed dark brown so it looks neater for the interview?Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -

I can't comment on dying hair or stripping it....never dyed my hair in my life but if it makes you feel smarter then go for it.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Caught up with the thread when we got in from our foray into town (dog-sitting cheque to pay in, haircut for Mr LW, storage container from John Lewis, fruit & veg from the market and a few bits from Waitrose, so nowt exciting).
We've since eaten egg'n'chips and HM rice pud, and had a look at the Telegraph crossword; and I've been racking my brains all that time and I STILL can't come up with anything I like about myself.:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
my favourite parts of me are my dark brown eyes and my chin dimple. i used to hate it because i got called "bum chin" in primary school (aren't young children inventive with insults?) but since then when they started becoming fashionable and people started paying insane amounts of money to get them put in I've grown to love it. i like having something hardly anyone else has.I don't mind my pale skin but my hair's horrid right now! i had my hair stripped once. my hairdresser had to put bright ginger in before any colour to give my brown colour something to hold onto and every since then that ginger has become my default colour that my dye fades to.0 -
willow both matalan shirts look lovely
welshwoofer aside from ensuring you get enough protein, b-vits and regular trims to keep the ends in good condition there's nothing really you can do. well done for standing up to that cow and getting some fabbing gear
prepareathome sounds very 90s but trace just around your lips with a liner slightly lighter than your natural colour and keep well moisturised and your lips will look much much fuller.
I'm getting a wee bit jealous reading about everyones favourite bits, it's really positive in the thread today which is brill! Rummer you sound like a new woman now you have heating, so positive and you sound blaaady gorgeous
lw ((hugs)) i think other people see our good points much easier than we do ourselves.
I can't name any good bits either. I'm an extreme perfectionist, anything less than perfect or the best seems rubbish, and perfect or the best is only "okay" because i think i can improve and that perfection quickly feels rubbish again. It can be good, like I always think an exam has gone terribly if I don't feel 100% confident at the end but then get a nice surprise when I've got 90% or something. But it means I've never worn a bikini despite visiting lots of warm countries and beaches and working hard on my figure. My motto in life is to keep looking forward but sometimes I wish I could appreciate my achievements! I don't judge other people the same way though, I always see good in people and get genuinely excited for the tiniest achievements. It's just myself that takes a bashing
Ooof erm, fabbing to do today: oil cleansing as we speak, re-do nails, exercise, body brush, organise toiletries, organise supplements, another blog post and prepare for a mini detox. Not a silly one but just want to give my body a super boost whilst i'm off uni this week and can afford a lull in alertness, and a home facial. OH is seeing his dad today so i'm getiing lots done in peaceLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Good afternoon everyone
Having a lovely day here today, have both sons here so have been using them as slave labour, humping furniture around etc. As long as I keep them topped up with bacon butties, cheese and crackers, cake, biscuits and endless cups of tea they are more than happy to supply the "muscles" for my house refabbing.
Today have turned OH's bedroom back into a temporary study. DS2 has earmarked this for a "Man Room" at a later date, but for now we still need a designated study/work room.
DS1's bedroom will become a dressing room/guest room/sewing room and this will enable me to declutter my bedroom properly and turn it back into a proper "Master Bedroom" instead of the dumping ground it has become.
The lounge and dining room were given a quick coat of emulsion just a couple of months ago so I can probably get away with just a quick freshen up and redressing them for now.
The worst rooms are the hall and the kitchen. However, I really don't want to spend too much because I intend having a new kitchen next year and this will also entail knocking down a wall, blocking up a door and generally reconfiguring the downstairs layout.
So the hall and kitchen will just have a good scrub down, repair all the damaged plaster works and door architraves etc and then a coat of emulsion to freshen it up. I will stick to the same colours for now that way I can get away with one coat.
Plus of course reglossing all doors and architraves throughout:eek: - that alone will be a mammoth undertaking.
I shall declutter each room as I go along, ready for car booting, setting aside the "good" stuff for my future Bric-a-brac business.
Then it will be on to the garden and garage:eek::eek:
Looks like a busy few months ahead.
So nice to read all your lovely posts with you talking about all your good bits and the things you like about yourselves. This is such a positive life affirming thing to do. So often we are encouraged to dwell on the negatives in life.
Oooh my "workforce" need my input - back later.0
