Never? So why say they ask for a bus ticket as proof?
you dont need to be claiming travel to know they ask for a bus ticket as proof.

First they are asking you, then they aren't?
that is not what i said. the people who ask for proof arent the people that dont ask for proof. the fact that there are many who dont ask for bus tickets is evidence enough that it is a fib when they say they have to ask for them.

At the end of the day if you don't ask you can't complain or saying anything when you have had to pay out travel

Yes odd figures would stand out but only if you are giving a receipt or ticket and signing and you aren't (so you say)
so if someone got a taxi and got a receipt off the driver and signed the form it would be ok and wouldnt stand out as being too much to be claiming?

dj have you ever worked anywhere that has petty cash?

No matter where you are job or job centre or wp the way a petty cash system works (if it's run properly) is that proof of receipt/ticket is required to be recorded for everyones protection. It's got nothing at all about being treated like a criminal or liar. You are taking the request for what is very standard WAY too personally.

because despite what you think the reason behind it is they dont trust people to be honest. by asking for a ticket they are saying they dont believe you. they think you will either lie about the amount or that you will walk and just pocket the money. if it was about having something in the records then they would just need you to take a ticket on your first day.

Exactley! All tickets are used to show what has come out of the petty cash and I would worry if they weren't asking me to sign a sheet to say I have taken that amount of £
i never said they dont or that they shouldnt ask you to sign for it.
