I was at ingeus , they gave me £2 every time for petrol , now ive been moved to the chamber of commerce on the work programme.
Been 3 times so far, never got offered any travel expenses , so last time i mentioned it, told them id come in the car, and i used to get £2 , they said they needed to see my drivers license and insurance certificate !! i waved my car keys at him and said he could watch me get in if he liked.
Im taking no bull next time i go, they also want a booklet filled out with details of 50 jobs applied for every week. So much for the 3 at the dwp !0 -

The woman who called me started the conversation with "we'd like to invite you to an interview for a role with the local council." I was thinking great stuff and then she said "it's for an unpaid placement, which could possibly lead to a job." I agreed, but I find this so annoying. If there was a job available that they needed to fill, surely they would advertise it! What are the actual chances, after a month of doing 16 hour weeks for free, that there will be a job at the end of it? I'm thinking pretty slim!
The woman was so patronising too! "I'll send an application form for you to fill out. If you find it difficult, please bring it in on the day and someone will help you!" I managed to complete an Economics degree, I think I'll cope! "Do you have a CV?" Ermmm, yes and it's probably better than yours! And "It's an interview, so you need to dress smartly." Really? So I can't just turn up in tracky bottoms tucked into my socks!! :mad:0 -

dj have you ever worked anywhere that has petty cash?
No matter where you are job or job centre or wp the way a petty cash system works (if it's run properly) is that proof of receipt/ticket is required to be recorded for everyones protection. It's got nothing at all about being treated like a criminal or liar. You are taking the request for what is very standard WAY too personally.
how do you explain the occasions when there has not been a need to show a ticket if it is as essential as you say? why do they always say things like you need proof, we need to see proof etc? they dont say we need a ticket for our records.0 -
