Not to mention how undermining that is for the applicant that they need someone to follow up their application, or be seen as a distrustful person to make sure they made the application. I really don't agree with this and I think you should have the right to tell them that you do not want them undermining you any further!0

you would be lucky to find 5 to apply to in my circumstances, what happens if the hourly rate is not high enough for you to live on, and the job is offered to you then you decline for the obvious reasons.
Would this be the tactic of laying sanctions on a lot of people.0 -

If the job is not enough to live on then why would you apply for it and go to an interview? As long as I have a few £ for lunches and £161 a moth for travel and then more than £67.50 a week left I am better off.0 -

But the providers should now be taking the lead, although you still need to fulfill the Jobcentre requirements just in case.0 -
I have read through the dwp link. The course I have been mandated to including 2 days customer services the rest emplyability, I do not see it as reasonable there are only so many times you can do workshops about CVs etc and everyone you see has a different opinion anyway, also I have never expressed an interest in customer service training. Never had anything in writing either unless they count that action plan I signed only because I was told course was mandatory for all and that was a lie.
I do feel my jobseeking will be compramised I do not want to apply for jobs from their centre unless its a written application. I do not want to log on to my personal email from their computers either. On my job seekers agreement I have to take 3 steps a week and I apply for between 4-7 a week depending on whats out there so I more than adhere to my jobseekers agreement.
This course is till 4:30 everyday I do not see myself getting home till 6pm as the bus I get picks up from 2 colleges and I have already been warned by other people a couple of buses will just sail pass as they will be full. In the past I have had emails where I am asked if I can pop in for interview the next day and to let them know, how can I do that if I don't get home till gone 6 and their offices will be shut by then.
Got told at induction to try and get our signing times changed to 9 am so we do not miss the course, I couldnt do that as my job centre does not open till 10 am now on a Wednesday. Really did not get the impression they will accommodate interviews, courses that are like half a day workshop in CV writing or whatever at least they give you time to jobseek.
Like above poster I only had an induction not even a 1-1 yet so noone knows me there yet it was felt I had to be mandated to this course- its a joke.
What happens if I use the period of sickness you are allowed on JSA ? will that mean I will be re mandated, if so then at least I can argue that and refuse to sign the action plan and ask to see the manager as the course is not useful to me.
Anyone know the rules for time off at the jobcentre ? I know you can have 2 weeks UK holiday. Is it the same for sickness you are allowed one fortnight ? I did do this years ago now and I had a sicknote but they didn't need to see it, the rules have probably changed by now.0 -
:j Just got a interview this week for a job 12 hours pw minimum wage I think so will equal JSA when the rates go up more or less. Am I obligated to still sign on even if only for the £5 pw they discount ? If WP didn't exist I probably would as always been treated fairly at my Job centre. Don't really want all the intimidation of WP Providers especially being as I will only be getting £5 pw or less JSA.0

The Jobcentre & providers can agree different things.
