as someone who worked in a cafe on Clapham Common where people who were not customers couldn't be stopped using our toilets, keeping the the loos at a respectable standard needed someone to be employed as a cleaner solely for the toilets but I was expected to do it as well as my other duties
places say "customers only" to try and keep the numbers down because otherwise you end up running a public lavatory for the entire neighbourhood
the JC should know this0 -

it was the sheer numbers that was the problem rather than people being disrespectful - just keeping the loo rolls topped up was a full time job
the point of this is how inconsiderate the JC are being to send claimants to a cafe when they have their own toilets on the premises
Also it's just another snotty way of giving people the message "you do not qualify for the dignity of using our toilets because you are on the dole"0 -

donnajunkie wrote: »yeah, i can imagine it being an issue if there are excessive numbers doing it. i think the jobcentre do what they do because they expect people to vandalise them in revenge for being sent there. they obviously dont want people useing the staff toilets incase of assaults happening. its no excuse for requiring people to attend a place where they ignore their duty to provide basic facilities. if they cant come up with a solution they shouldnt require people to attend for any longer than 30 minutes.
That's a very odd view you have of the unemployed that we will smash up the loo.
All you have to do is ask to use the loo and go to what ever one they tell you to use and take your time doing soWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

And no its not good enough so say 'yeah you can use the toilets 10 miles away'! LOL
How many people would get up to no good in the loo? I don't know anyone that would other than use the toilet. You are making a bigger issue out of this.
