hey im back at the job centre daily i got 1 and 2 hour sessions there now....the only problem i seem to have is there is no toilets for clients...they have just put a sign in the job centre to say toilets are only for staff.....i seen a lady yesterday want to use a toilet put was refused.....is this legal?
  • Don't think so?

It may be they have to provide or be close to somewhere that does if you're going to be there for so many hours? Not sure.

Probably best to go to the toilet before you go, if you're only there for an hour or have a medical problem.
    Save, save, save, save.

For 1 or 2 hours I would say it possibly is but I know all JSA toilets are for staff only. Maybe contact the council health and safety and ask them. Someone asked at a 1 hour session if there was a toilet some months ago when were giving feedback on the WP and they said we had to use the ones in the shopping centre. So I can imagine them NOT letting everyone get up to go 5 min walk to the shopping centre to use the loo.

New to the Thread and I can not comments on all of the many posts before expect to say we have just recruited 4 new members of staff by using the job centre.

Was very surprised but they where fantastic. Actually better than fantastic and I know that we had a terrible time deciding who to employ and who not to.

But and this is only our opinion as so many applied to started to come down to ways to rule applicants out. Silly things such as the way the application was completed. Qualifications naturally but we also looked at what people had been doing.

We have taken team members for full time positions who where already in part time employment but we have also taken team members who have been long term unemployed.

We have over 250 applications for 4 jobs and TBH it was terrible. I felt terrible, could not eat, could not sleep, if I could I would of given them all a job.

I understand that it is hard out there and know that everyone has a story, but please do not give up.

One lady who know will is amazing and do a fab job has not had a job for three years. What stuck in my throat was that when we asked what she had been doing she said trying everything. When we asked why she did not have a job she simply said because no one will give me a chance. As she said the longer you are unemployed the hard it gets.

I am not trying to patronise, or be high and mighty far from it last week was a real eye opener for me I did not realise just how hard it was out there. Yes you read the stories and reports watch the news but sometimes I think a lot of us forget that these are real people.

    Good luck.
Thanks for sharing what occurred and that it was a success

This is AFTER the WP not part of the WP yes?

You need to talk to the JC manager there and voice your concerns and better still as a group if you are not being allowed to use the toilet

What did this person do ?
